"the disproportionate impact of AIDS on blacks is closely related to the history of oppression and discrimination that people of African descent share"

White people could play this game too. Pick some problem that, for reasons unknown, disproportionately affects whites, such as suicide, and blame it on black crime and racism against whites, with no evidence. Of course, mainstream papers like the Christian Science Monitor wouldn't give you a soapbox to spout such dubious claims. - Hetman, on 07/17/2008, -0/+1That is the craziest thing I have ever heard. It makes no sense whatsoever. I personally believe that the evil white man, I cannot say his name or he will hunt me down, so I refer to him as the Man created Aids. He must have studied the genetics of the African people. And then the Man created a customized virus "HIV" that would specifically target Africans. He then gave these Africans free vaccinations infested with the HIV virus. The African people need not take any responsibility for there actions. It is the Mans fault.
- Hetman, on 07/17/2008, -0/+1Native Americans could say the same thing. We have a very bad diabeites epidemic. But that comes from thousands of years of not eating processed sugars. The same can be said about alcohol. We do not have certian enzymes that break down alcohol like most European decendents do. "The same is true with tribes in south america also." Anyways it is just so much easier to be like the evil white men did it.
- inactive, on 07/17/2008, -0/+1damn that racist HIV virus!
- mnortei, on 07/16/2008, -1/+2It's going to be a long, long time before Africa is going to be able to shape up with things like this happening. First the land was raped by Foreigners (not that that's over) now even their own genes seem to make it hard to prosper. Don't get me wrong, however, they are doing so many things to aid in their demise as well (unprotected sex). Democracy is hard to come by when so much of the government is corrupt. It's sad times. I'm lucky to have come from the better part of Africa, and hope someday through what I've learned here I'll be able to help make a difference back home.
- ORBAT, on 07/16/2008, -2/+2But but but but... I thought we were all equal and there were no genetic differences between races. I thought it was wrong to even admit there are different races.
- MrErr, on 07/16/2008, -3/+2Intreresting. The doctors in Africa have saying for a while that their sexual habits do not explain the AIDS epidemic they have when compared to other countries and felt like western researchers were looking in the wrong areas for a cure. It is nice to see some progress.
