- WordsnCollision, on 01/15/2009, -2/+28Coming soon, "Knit of the Living Dead"...
- zuiquan, on 01/15/2009, -1/+16Psychiatrist Dr. James Compton diagnoses fellow psychiatrist with having mental disorder that forces her to make crazy, anatomically correct depictions of body parts that, once completed, have no usefulness whatsoever. The disease is named Norberger Syndrome and can be passed on through contact with contaminated knitting needles.
- happysmile, on 01/16/2009, -0/+11wow, I guess those 4 years of medical school really payed off.
- catalystmotive, on 01/15/2009, -2/+11psychiatrist also has too much time on his hands.. but impressive nonetheless
- RJ0534, on 01/16/2009, -0/+8For some reason I was expecting a replica of a woolly mammoth brain.
- mikemarino, on 01/16/2009, -0/+7Dog destroys months of work in 3 minutes.
- XBunnyRacer, on 01/16/2009, -0/+6Um.. I'm a knitter and I'm into mischief all the time..
- XBunnyRacer, on 01/16/2009, -0/+5And the fact that the doctor is a woman...
- inactive, on 01/16/2009, -0/+4The psychiatrist was knitting during consultation with her patient. Listening to her iPod with earphones on was just too akward.
- Alael, on 01/15/2009, -3/+7More psychiatrists should take up knitting, it would keep them out of mischief.
- Murdats, on 01/16/2009, -0/+3you expect women to be out of the kitchen long enough to learn what the human brain looks like?
- DeathRay2K, on 01/16/2009, -0/+3It takes about 12 years of higher-level education to become a psychiatrist.
- emjaymj, on 01/16/2009, -0/+3Interesting how many people assumed the doctor was a guy, despite the name "Karen" being in the description and the article itself being about knitting.
- pegothejerk, on 01/16/2009, -0/+3but you can't store your knitting needles in a plastic model in such a gory visually pleasing manner.
- Pinkertinkle, on 01/16/2009, -2/+4The good doctor should knit a muffler with the logos of all the drug companies that have paid her off.
- inactive, on 01/16/2009, -0/+2My Grandma could have done it in a day. This guy is slow
- Myztry, on 01/16/2009, -0/+2Someone who kills time by knitting a brain could wouldn't be fazed by 12 years sitting in a classroom.
Probably some kind of obsessive compulsive type. - 16sinker, on 01/16/2009, -0/+2Nit wit!!!
- inactive, on 01/16/2009, -0/+2My father, an ex-professional lacrosse and semi-professional hockey player can apparently knit.
It's very unnerving. - lordmike, on 01/16/2009, -0/+1So where do you get THAT pattern? Joann Fabrics?
- 1310nm, on 01/16/2009, -0/+1Also on that page:
http://i43.tinypic.com/121e4pi.png - Meursault, on 01/16/2009, -0/+1Stuff like this reminds me I don't know ***** and can't do much of anything.
- VelvetoneFusion, on 01/16/2009, -0/+1I'm not gonna pay a lot for that muffler.
- offwithyourtv, on 01/16/2009, -0/+1And I thought the crocheted dissected frog I bought off Etsy.com was cool. The plastic thing wouldn't be near as much fun. I think this is quite badass.
- lornali, on 01/17/2009, -0/+1This is crazy
- XBunnyRacer, on 01/16/2009, -0/+1Yes.. There are men who knit. I'm a member of Ravelry.com which is a knitting site with over 250K members.. There's a group for guys who knit with over 1,000 members. I see guys all the time at yarn shops..
- mugicha, on 01/16/2009, -0/+1FTA: "I'm thinking of posters or t-shirts, but I am not so sure whether people will want to walk around with a knitted brain on the front of their clothes."
I would. - digidevil, on 01/16/2009, -0/+1I want one.
- goodinohio, on 01/16/2009, -0/+1If you want to bring out the brainwashed scientology morons just put psychiatrist in the title.
- cypherspace, on 01/17/2009, -0/+1She needs her head examined.
- Marrach, on 01/16/2009, -0/+1 AT the same time, in a little kid imagination kind of way-- it's creepy.
- travis1982, on 01/16/2009, -0/+1Wheres the amygdala?
- vidaliasweet, on 01/16/2009, -0/+1That would have made such a good title.
- merriealynn, on 01/16/2009, -0/+1Ah, a common response of non-knitters to knitters for anything we make. "Nice cardigan that you spent 100 hours making from cashmere and silk that you spun yourself, but you could just buy a cheap cotton sweater from WalMart." Not quite the same thing or satisfaction. :)
- ohearn, on 01/16/2009, -0/+1Yes, some men knit. I know a couple who do, but they do tend to be the minority.
- tubeguy, on 01/16/2009, -0/+0Where's the corpus callosum?
- spinnayarn, on 07/23/2009, -0/+0As a knitter, I really appreciate this story. Wacky or not, I respect the doctor's creativity and the thought she put into the piece. The colors are nifty, and the piece would make for a good icebreaker with new clients. Wonder if she wrote down the pattern...maybe we can convince her to post it!
- Zarokima, on 01/16/2009, -1/+1Actually, since it's knitting and this shows skill and some level of intellect, it probably will.
- saralemaster, on 07/09/2009, -0/+0I once linked DNA synthesis to knitting. This really demonstrates having "knitting on the brain" I'm going to blog about this. http://spinningwheelrevolution.blogspot.com/
- julianmaestas, on 01/15/2009, -3/+3that's pretty cool, but it took a year to make..... when there are plastic models you could buy online and have within days...
- Kerinda, on 01/18/2009, -0/+0How funny - all you who made comments are so funny! I love the humor! keep it up!
- JEM916, on 01/16/2009, -1/+1on HER hands. Are there actually men that knit? As a young woman, I don't even know how.
- tgc1, on 01/16/2009, -2/+1That's mental.
- AManWithNoName, on 01/16/2009, -3/+1Wow, I'm sure that'll get him loads of pussy.
