Prehistoric Explosions Wiped Out Ocean Life— And Created Oil

Well, there are a lot of Republicans who don't like President Bush. Are we really that shallow in this country where we only think about the two parties themselves, rather than the policies of the individual in charge?
/political commentary - Fritzel, on 07/22/2008, -0/+1I've been for removing all parties and voting solely by name and deed for a long time.
- TxAggie08, on 07/22/2008, -0/+1I'd also prefer a partyless system, but for now I work with what we have. Perhaps someday I will have the time and resources to push for change.

- bgrah449, on 07/22/2008, -3/+8Technology has made us more efficient today, however - modern explosions wipe out ocean life AND oil.
- stonedthot, on 07/22/2008, -9/+3And people say time travel doesn't exist...
- KaiUno, on 07/22/2008, -1/+3And they're right.
- stonedthot, on 07/23/2008, -0/+1Nu-uh, this is totally evidence that a civilisation in a parallel universe discovered time travel and travelled back in time and created a geological eruption to create more oil in order to ensure our civilisation in this time line advanced more quickly thus giving us a chance against the upcoming alien invasion in this 'verse.
Have you people no logical reasoning skills? Idiots... - stonedthot, on 07/23/2008, -0/+1P.S. since you people insist on it, despite it being blatantly obvious most of the time.

- jshooter1377, on 07/22/2008, -14/+2Really??? Prehistoric creatures died and decomposed to the point where they are now oil??? Wow, I totally did not learn this in my 6th grade science class...
Here's the thing, we all know where oil comes from and how it got there...we just need to know where/ how to get more. So, scientists, don't talk unless you've found the answer to that. Thanks.- robwhite1979, on 07/22/2008, -3/+6umm, i think you missed the point... btw, the last thing we need is to find MORE oil, we need to find MORE alternatives...
- marc123, on 07/22/2008, -5/+1of course u didnt u went to school in america that part of the syllabus was removed to make way for "great flood" studies
- norman619, on 07/22/2008, -0/+4Really? You have any idea how long it will take to find an alternative to oil which can supply us they way oil is/has? It is impossible to quit oil cold turkey w/o something else to replace it. We need more oil PLUS we need to find alternatives that will help us get off oil EVENTUALLY. This is not a process which will happen over night.
- thebaron2, on 07/22/2008, -0/+2Agree with norman.
I don't understand why everyone things that producing more of our own oil and investing in alternative energy sources need to be mutually exclusive propositions.
How anyone could say the LAST thing we need is to find more oil is beyond me; let's do both! - robwhite1979, on 07/24/2008, -0/+1@norman619+thebaron2
Again, missing the point... As long as people think that there is an endless supply of oil then there is no motivation to move away from an oil driven society. The alternatives already exist, here in Canada gasoline has topped $1.45/L but I have yet to see anyone selling a rechargeable electric vehicle which can harness solar or nuclear power...
- PopASquatt, on 07/22/2008, -1/+2What? Did you think oil came out of gods diarrhea filled *****?
The way to get more oil is to kill everything that moves and compress the ***** out of it for millions of years. Great! Now all we haft to do is wait...
Seriously, we need to adopt a different fuel and cease the use of fossil fuels. - greenm1981, on 07/22/2008, -1/+1Go sit in the corner.
- jshooter1377, on 07/22/2008, -0/+1I never realized my little rant could stir up such controversy.

- Amadeus2490, on 07/22/2008, -0/+1Yeah, it'd be a good idea to bury them under the sea; there would be no accusations, only friendly crustaceans.

- jstancom, on 07/22/2008, -9/+10Please shut up.
- P3NGUIN8, on 07/23/2008, -0/+0Ya OK, its the usa's fault... well while we do consume alot we try to be efficent and its kinda hard to control all the emmissions going into the air. the US is like 50 billion times more populated that those other countries
- jpop, on 07/22/2008, -3/+18I thought it was Xenu nuking all those bodies.

- alperea, on 07/22/2008, -6/+2Isn't it weird that coincidentally we have a great use for oil that was perfectly made for us millions of years ago? I blame aliens.
- aspestrand, on 07/22/2008, -0/+0Yeah... and trees... whoa, they're prefect for building stuff... rocks too! Wow, coincidence... I THINK SO o.O
- Jektal, on 07/22/2008, -0/+4It's coincidental that we found a use for something in our environment?

I thought the dinosaurs theoretically fell into these three fates:
A) Died as a result of a mammoth meteorite that nailed the earth releasing a doomsday shroud of poisonous CO2 emissions eventually killing everything on the planet with the exception of the ocean's inhabitants.
B) Evolved, into birds or something.
C) You touch yourself at night.- SouthernGuy118, on 07/22/2008, -0/+2surprisingly enough, when mass extinctions occur, its marine life that suffers the most.
- Kedyn, on 07/22/2008, -0/+4Reply button mebe?
- TxAggie08, on 07/22/2008, -0/+3It's true. Too many people touching themselves has been linked to global warming and past mass extinction events.
- Terr01, on 07/22/2008, -0/+2Well, touching yourself decreases the odds you'll become a pirate, and less pirates mean more warming.
- chrisc3, on 07/22/2008, -6/+7Duh, a single "Volcanic Eruption"?
A single global flood in the bible would be a reasonable answer now, wouldnt it? (oh oops, now i'll get dugg down for mentioning the bible)- Tenlow, on 07/22/2008, -1/+5Reference to the flood? This would have happened a *teensy* bit before they started writing the bible, by 90 million or so years. And that's with a huge margin of error.
Also plate tectonics are not such a mystery these days. Turns out they cause volcanoes, not the other way around.- Phearce, on 07/22/2008, -1/+4You're forgetting the magical timeline that has Adam and Eve romping around in dinosaur times. Plus the weird time dilation where the first days of creation were God-days or something. Plus all the original characters all lived longer lives, like hundreds or thousands of years. I know all of this is true, b/c I figured it out in bible school.
/mocking

- Terr01, on 07/22/2008, -1/+3Uhm... Water suddenly covering the entire earth during a 40-day period breaks a hell of a lot more known physics and math than a massive eruption. And that's not even dealing with how certain species clearly survived, or how well things could grow back after massive areas being saturated with salt water.
The fact that you think they're remotely comparable theories should be embarassing.- diggydougie, on 07/22/2008, -1/+4But, you see, god is supernatural and can do whatever he wants to. ***** physics. /sarcasm I suppose that he can also play with time as well. So it doesn't matter what evidence you give them, it can be dismissed.

Sounds pretty stupid to me. - kenrayd, on 07/22/2008, -6/+4Facts show that it's actually the reverse - The oil reserves can be traced to Noah's flood and eruption of volcanoes was the after-effect.

- Phearce, on 07/22/2008, -1/+4"Facts"? I think you meant "wild speculation".
- mrb4b00, on 07/22/2008, -1/+1Xenu created oil for us when he nuked volcanoes.
I also wrote a scientific research paper based on that.
Therefore, your God is false. - thebaron2, on 07/22/2008, -1/+4"Researchers Steven Turgeon and Robert Creaser were alerted to the prehistoric blast when they found specific levels of osmium isotopes (indicators of volcanic activity in sea water) in black shale rocks off the coast of South America and in the mountains of central Italy."
Statements like that refer to what we call EVIDENCE. There are far, far too many unanswered questions and contradictory evidence to any global flood theory, regardless of which religion's flood you may believe in.
I'd point you to the following website for a list of many of these questions, but your pastor/priest/rabbi probably already told you that this site is the devil in disguise:

http://freeenergynews.com/Directory/Theory/Sustain ... - gubatron2, on 07/22/2008, -0/+1wonder if with information like this they already found out that there's nowhere else to drill or maybe they know where, but they want to hold on as much as they can to keep raising prices and then be able to compete with whatever new alternate energy tech may come out.
- bobbi21, on 07/22/2008, -0/+1Did anyone else notice the comment saying that CO2 causes global cooling and that we should be subsidizing companies that waste oil cus they're helping the environment? (and that there are hundreds of years worth of oil and the entire US can convert to nuclear energy in 20 years...) Where do they find these people..
- P3NGUIN8, on 07/23/2008, -0/+0wow thats crazy, well heres a crazy plan....
Step 1: make every animal in the ocean reproduce 1-2 times.
Step 2: Find Alternate Plannet Incase Plan Doesnt Work/ Backfires
Step 3: Make A couple nukes and let them sink to the bottom of the ocean
Step 4: Press big red button
Step 5: Wait a Millon Years And Start Drilling For Oil and make sure that the US finds Most of it first then save it up and wait till gas prices get really high then the gov starts selling it to bring down prices, then repeat steps 1-5
just kidding i dont really belive we should do the plan but i think its intresting the topic - yourpalOZ, on 07/23/2008, -0/+3Thats Bull *****!
Oil and natural gas are part of planetary eveolution and exist universe and solar syastem wide.Did you also belive the Exxon 1980s commercail that said dead dinosaurs and plants make oil commercail too? Hydrogen and methane abound everywhere...and Yes you can run cars on it.- DestroyFascism, on 07/23/2008, -0/+1Petrolium as I understood it ws a by-product of Bacteria. This by-product settles on the ocean floor in a constant precipitation. The difference between then and now is Fungi did not exist then, its actually a quite recent genera.
Also you have to take into account that oceans were smaller and the land available was usually quite green.- yourpalOZ, on 07/24/2008, -0/+1I bet you learned that on TV

- mwalker52, on 07/23/2008, -1/+1To better understand the great flood and where oil comes from you need to read "worlds in Collision" by Immanuel Velikovsky. Here is a simplified list of the science that explains where all the water came from, and how the fire and brimstone (oil) fell from the sky as recorded by many past civilizations. I don't want to get into the reasons why science has been polluted and the population has been kept in the dark, that is a whole other topic and a lot of the concepts here are different from what you have been taught. Use your common sense as a guide.
For starters, comets are not dirty snowballs, they are dry hot rocks, some small, and some very large. How else do these so called "ice balls" survive a close orbit around the sun? Comets are actually drawing material in through their tails due to tremendous electrical activity as they discharge the solar capacitor caused by the solar wind of excess protons emitted from the sun. It is also this electrical activity that can facilitate the production of complex hydrocarbons (oil).
Its also important to note that Venus is a newly captured planet only approximately 4 to 10 thousand years old. Venus is so hot that the dark side is 800 degrees and volcanoes simply melt into themselves. This much heat energy is not being caused from the sun, it is because Venus is a brand new captured planet, and is still in its development and cooling stage.
Mars was recently a water planet. This is obvious from the signs of recent water erosion all over the planet and the fact that Mars is only cratered in the highlands. The oceans absorbed the asteroid impacts in the lower areas of the planet. Mars has river channels, deltas, and eroded volcanoes like the Hawaiian Islands here on Earth.
Velikovsky proposed that as Venus maneuvered its way through the solar system, it came close enough to Mars that the electrical (and gravitational?) activity of comet Venus removed Mars's atmosphere and oceans. Comet tails can be millions of kilometers long and since Venus is a much larger planet than Mars, the material had a tendency to follow Venus. Later on as earth passed through the comet tail of Venus, since Earth is the bigger planet, it began to absorb back a lot of the water and material that was originally drawn from Mars.
Comets are a source of oil, water, salt, and sometimes even viruses. For further information visit www.jmccanneyscience.com - dorveycheg10, on 08/21/2008, -0/+0http://www.care2.com/c2c/share/detail/853687 free amateur porn
