    Here's the thing, we all know where oil comes from and how it got there...we just need to know where/ how to get more. So, scientists, don't talk unless you've found the answer to that. Thanks.

It is impossible to quit oil cold turkey w/o something else to replace it. We need more oil PLUS we need to find alternatives that will help us get off oil EVENTUALLY.         Again, missing the point... As long as people think that there is an endless supply of oil then there is no motivation to move away from an oil driven society. The alternatives already exist, here in Canada gasoline has topped $1.45/L but I have yet to see anyone selling a rechargeable electric vehicle which can harness solar or nuclear power...

    I thought the dinosaurs theoretically fell into these three fates:

    A) Died as a result of a mammoth meteorite that nailed the earth releasing a doomsday shroud of poisonous CO2 emissions eventually killing everything on the planet with the exception of the ocean's inhabitants.

    B) Evolved, into birds or something.

    C) You touch yourself at night.

      Also plate tectonics are not such a mystery these days. Turns out they cause volcanoes, not the other way around.

      Statements like that refer to what we call EVIDENCE. There are far, far too many unanswered questions and contradictory evidence to any global flood theory, regardless of which religion's flood you may believe in.

    Step 2: Find Alternate Plannet Incase Plan Doesnt Work/ Backfires
    Step 3: Make A couple nukes and let them sink to the bottom of the ocean
    Step 4: Press big red button
    Step 5: Wait a Millon Years And Start Drilling For Oil and make sure that the US finds Most of it first then save it up and wait till gas prices get really high then the gov starts selling it to bring down prices, then repeat steps 1-5

    Oil and natural gas are part of planetary eveolution and exist universe and solar syastem wide.Did you also belive the Exxon 1980s commercail that said dead dinosaurs and plants make oil commercail too? Hydrogen and methane abound everywhere...and Yes you can run cars on it.
    • DestroyFascism, on 07/23/2008, -0/+1Petrolium as I understood it ws a by-product of Bacteria. This by-product settles on the ocean floor in a constant precipitation. The difference between then and now is Fungi did not exist then, its actually a quite recent genera.

      Also you have to take into account that oceans were smaller and the land available was usually quite green.
  • mwalker52, on 07/23/2008, -1/+1To better understand the great flood and where oil comes from you need to read "worlds in Collision" by Immanuel Velikovsky. Here is a simplified list of the science that explains where all the water came from, and how the fire and brimstone (oil) fell from the sky as recorded by many past civilizations. I don't want to get into the reasons why science has been polluted and the population has been kept in the dark, that is a whole other topic and a lot of the concepts here are different from what you have been taught. Use your common sense as a guide.

    For starters, comets are not dirty snowballs, they are dry hot rocks, some small, and some very large. How else do these so called "ice balls" survive a close orbit around the sun? Comets are actually drawing material in through their tails due to tremendous electrical activity as they discharge the solar capacitor caused by the solar wind of excess protons emitted from the sun. It is also this electrical activity that can facilitate the production of complex hydrocarbons (oil).

    Its also important to note that Venus is a newly captured planet only approximately 4 to 10 thousand years old. Venus is so hot that the dark side is 800 degrees and volcanoes simply melt into themselves. This much heat energy is not being caused from the sun, it is because Venus is a brand new captured planet, and is still in its development and cooling stage.

    Mars was recently a water planet. This is obvious from the signs of recent water erosion all over the planet and the fact that Mars is only cratered in the highlands. The oceans absorbed the asteroid impacts in the lower areas of the planet. Mars has river channels, deltas, and eroded volcanoes like the Hawaiian Islands here on Earth.

    Velikovsky proposed that as Venus maneuvered its way through the solar system, it came close enough to Mars that the electrical (and gravitational?) activity of comet Venus removed Mars's atmosphere and oceans. Comet tails can be millions of kilometers long and since Venus is a much larger planet than Mars, the material had a tendency to follow Venus. Later on as earth passed through the comet tail of Venus, since Earth is the bigger planet, it began to absorb back a lot of the water and material that was originally drawn from Mars.
