- gaboma19, on 01/06/2009, -4/+22It's a Lickitung!
- Hetman, on 01/06/2009, -1/+14It never states if they are able to breed with one another though. However we should try to protect the pink iguana if just for the sake of being able to study it.
- inactive, on 01/06/2009, -4/+17"...found on a single volcano in the Galapagos Islands..."
Why are these things always found in awesome places? Its never something like, John Moyers back yard. - digg1520, on 01/06/2009, -0/+9Thanks for the update.
- AltF3, on 01/06/2009, -0/+7Dugg for "Invasion of Feral Goats"
I, for one, welcome our new cloven hoofed overlords. - Rudegar, on 01/06/2009, -0/+6i fear the problem with feral goats wil become worse before it gets better :S
http://farm1.static.flickr.com/1/453214_3c6a7fbcdd ... - Hetman, on 01/06/2009, -0/+5I do not care if they are saved forever. But we need to have them around at least long enough to study them. If it provides more insight on evolution it is worth it.
- PHiZ187, on 01/06/2009, -11/+16DAMN YOU FERAL GOATS!!!
- Fogell, on 01/06/2009, -0/+5no.
- Richiestyle, on 01/06/2009, -0/+5Do not ***** with Feral Goats
- Hetman, on 01/06/2009, -0/+4Feral Goats sounds delicious. I could think of a few dishes that would help lower there numbers.
- AubreyMo, on 01/06/2009, -0/+4Good find, but I don't like how the article is written to sound like it is Darwin's fault that they weren't discovered. Sure, the guy can find hundreds of animals but heaven forbid he miss one!? However, it is pretty neat that they separated from other species more than 5 million years ago.
- Dimensio, on 01/06/2009, -4/+8" I mean evolution prides it self on weeding out those who can't survive."
Evolution is a process. It cannot experience "pride".
"I mean how logical is it for an iguana to be pink?"
Pink is a descriptor. There is no logic value to a colour.
" That doesn't seem like a very efficient genetic trait. "
On what basis have you derived this conclusion?
" Sometimes we are messing with natures plan by saving such creatures."
You are asserting the existence of a "plan" that you have neither defined nor demonstrated as extant. - daimposter, on 01/06/2009, -1/+5your pussies dick?
- Fogell, on 01/06/2009, -0/+3no.
- DinosWillDie13, on 01/07/2009, -0/+3wow. idiot comment of the day by me.
- Fallout911, on 01/06/2009, -0/+3Exactly
- ZincSaucier, on 01/07/2009, -0/+3you released this plague on my home?
- knoxinabox, on 01/07/2009, -0/+2They must be harder to kill
- MrTea, on 01/06/2009, -0/+2Please.
I invented them. - psion01, on 01/06/2009, -1/+3Breed some in captivity and market them as pets ... once they're popular, return portions of the captive-bred specimens to the wild ... presumably after doing something about feral goats, and possibly in other iguana-friendly environments where they won't themselves cause damage. Pets and domesticated animals don't go extinct.
- psion01, on 01/06/2009, -1/+3Thumbs up! Roasted goat smothered in tahini sauce. Feral goat with roasted garlic, spinach, and lemons. Feral goat with honey and bell peppers.
Between you and me, we'll save the embattled pink iguanas! - ZincSaucier, on 01/06/2009, -1/+3I knew about the pink iguanas all along and no one else could see them. Now everyone will realize I was right.
- inactive, on 01/06/2009, -3/+5I used to have an Iguana, he wasn't pink. I have a bearded dragon lizard right now, but she's yellow, not green or pink.
- jthei, on 01/08/2009, -0/+2doesnt that ***** with natural selection?
- digg1520, on 01/06/2009, -0/+2I prefer Iguana on a stick (but green will do).
- Whackly, on 01/06/2009, -0/+2No. Larry Craig likes the rusty trombone. Probably followed by a dirty dutchman.
- veriix, on 01/06/2009, -0/+2There's a difference?
- pyrator, on 01/07/2009, -0/+2How logical is it for 'white' people to be - well pink.
- AltF3, on 01/06/2009, -0/+2She keeps asking about you, will you call her so she'll get off my back about it?
- slapthemonkey, on 01/07/2009, -0/+2It's important to save every endangered species
- Fogell, on 01/06/2009, -1/+3moron.
- jthei, on 01/08/2009, -0/+1i like turtles.
- inactive, on 01/06/2009, -0/+1Judging from this thread, you:
1. Have no sense of humor
2. Think you are the world's mom
One of the above is true. - Stradenko, on 01/06/2009, -0/+1"I, for one, welcome our new cloven hoofed overlords."
How is your mom, by the way? - alvination, on 01/07/2009, -0/+1Fruity.
- inactive, on 01/06/2009, -0/+1As soon as I get off of your mom's back.
- vandalin7, on 01/06/2009, -5/+6I don't know about saving all of these little critters. I mean evolution prides it self on weeding out those who can't survive. I mean how logical is it for an iguana to be pink? That doesn't seem like a very efficient genetic trait. A lot of animals don't need saving. Sometimes we are messing with natures plan by saving such creatures.
- inactive, on 01/08/2009, -0/+1These things will be domesticated in no time...
- Fogell, on 01/06/2009, -0/+1nothing comes to mind.
- MiGs2, on 01/06/2009, -0/+0That thing probably has the cure for cancer, and the possibility to survive a nuclear explosion and mutate into an even better and far more dangerous species.
- Izzmo, on 01/06/2009, -1/+1No one lives on the Galapogos Islands...
- inactive, on 01/07/2009, -0/+0this is cool as hell. the galapagos on planet earth was amazing. cant wait to see this type of pink on my hdtv...
- inactive, on 01/07/2009, -0/+0no ***** especially with the limited time he had to study there...
- lovek, on 01/06/2009, -4/+4Way to ruin a front page article with no comments.
Damn! Now I did it too!
See what you did? - WarpCode, on 05/08/2009, -0/+0Feral cats seem to be a bigger problem then the goats as they are more then likely eating the baby/young pink iguanas.

"Evolution is a process. It cannot experience "pride".
Thanks captain obvious. If you fail to infer what I was getting at than your either retarded or an elitist prick.
"Pink is a descriptor. There is no logic value to a colour."
O no? ask our service men if they would go into combat without camouflage. By the way if your going to be a smart ass at least spell color right, but I have a feeling your just Canadian so I'll just leave it at that.
"On what basis have you derived this conclusion?"
Most iguanas are green through the process of evolution. That is all the basis that I think is necessary unless you have information your not sharing.
"You are asserting the existence of a "plan" that you have neither defined nor demonstrated as extant."
evolution is often referred to as natures plan as stated by U.S. news and world report. I'm not writing a dissertation for a quick comment on a news article so lighten up.
http://www.usnews.com/usnews/culture/articles/0309 ...
So please take your arrogant elitist attitude to another thread. Kthxbye - reverant, on 01/06/2009, -4/+3What ones? I haven't read a horrible comment on Digg in my entire life
- Fogell, on 01/06/2009, -2/+1no you don't.
