      I'd hate to show you my holiday photographs. You'd make me feel like an amateur. Why can't someone just take a photo for the memory or on the spur of the moment without it having to be a ***** artistic masterpiece?

      you see... typically, once you get to at least amateur status in a craft... you usually start learning more technical things... not just randomly take pictures of 'cool *****'.

The joke is that the panda was carrying an encyclopedia with him that had a grammatical error, thus telling the panda his species 'eats, shoots and leaves' which he duly follows. I feel anal for explaining it to you, but the way you worded the joke it just doesn't work. Your joke is based on a misinterpretation, not on a grammar error, which is the point of this particular joke. Go buy the book called "Eats, shoots and leaves" if you don't believe me.

The joke is a grammatical error in the encyclopedia which makes the panda think he should 'eat, shoot and leave'.       “Well, I'm a panda,” he says at the door. “Look it up.”

      The waiter turns to the relevant entry in the manual and, sure enough, finds an explanation. “Panda. Large black-and-white bear-like mammal, native to China. Eats, shoots and leaves.”

      Notice the , in the final sentence, it is the entire premise of the joke.
