- burnzy3210, on 10/11/2007, -4/+91i thought this was a story about someone with a hat covered in flowers and jelly :/

A nice close-up shot the really shows off the coloring. - defectDS, on 10/11/2007, -2/+61It's a METROID! Where are the Chozo when you need them?
- voyetra8, on 10/11/2007, -0/+41There are a ton of the challenges.
One is oxygenating the water without the use of bubbles. (If the bubbles get up inside the jelly's bell, the jellyfish dies.) Another is creating a current that keeps them suspended in the water... yet another is a filtration system that won't suck them up. Oh, and they need to eat like 24/7.
Basically it's a huge pain in the balls. - airwalkery2k, on 10/11/2007, -2/+28Meanwhile, I thought it was talking about a super rare hat item in some online role-playing game.
- mannymix03, on 10/11/2007, -5/+30jelly fishing, jelly fishing, jelly fishing
- santiago1, on 10/11/2007, -3/+27 Hey Squidward, are you ready to go Jellyfishing?
- gldfshnpcklejar, on 10/11/2007, -2/+21Until someone brings up a proper mirror. Here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flower_hat_jelly

cool, thanks - DaffyDuck, on 10/11/2007, -1/+14"One is oxygenating the water without the use of bubbles. (If the bubbles get up inside the jelly's bell, the jellyfish dies.) The last problem is the only one that is really difficult to solve. The other problems are non-existent in my 80 gal discus aquarium which uses an overflow tank to take water out and a wet/dry filter which provides plenty of water flow throughout the tank. No bubbles or suction. The water is well oxygenated in the 10 gal tank below the main tank. - chiliwilli, on 10/11/2007, -0/+12the pics don't show on the mirror sites so far. this must be one elusive jellyfish, not even the intraweb can capture it's presense
- telair, on 10/11/2007, -1/+12Managed to get it out of Firefox cache

They sell mechanical kits that slowly sprinkle the eggs at a a fixed rate. The eggs can be bought in pound blocks (looks sort of like yeast in bulk) and last a long time before needing to be refilled. The only problem is that you have to calibrate the "sprinkle rate" properly depending on the tank size and jellyfish species.
- TexanPsycho, on 10/11/2007, -3/+12I was hoping for some dude to have jelly on his head.
- artofwar420, on 10/11/2007, -2/+10Praise his Noodliness!
- voyetra8, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8Jellyfish kick ass.
I've wanted a jellyfish tank for a while now, but plans are scarce....
Apparently jelly tanks are popular in Japan, however. - Syvl, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8Ouch...
- dosle, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7SCREEEEE!
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7So, who's going to call Samus Aran?

i don't enjoy your trolling of spongebob, it is not very nice at all. - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+7@H080J03
I already tried saying that and got dugg down. For some reason bashing someone who deserves it is just as bad as what the person being bashed did. - Salgat, on 10/11/2007, -1/+7Don't some jellyfish die if they hit the edge of a tank? I remember seeing something on Discovery Channel where they had to rig this spinning tank thing to keep the jellyfish from touching the edge and breaking itself.
- thepompano, on 10/11/2007, -2/+8A metroid? This is clearly a wild FSM sighting.
- Jernej, on 10/11/2007, -7/+11I usually write constructive comments, but when an article like this comes to front page.. i can... not... resist... to ask:
Will it blend?
- ashwin100, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Fantastic picture, magnificent creature.
- ate50eggs, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Damn it. I was going to say "balls", but you beat me to it. I guess you could say you took the balls out of my mouth.
Er...wait...that doesn't sound right. - GooksBirman, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3@burnzy
I just got a great idea. find one of these flower hat jellyfish and put it on your head like a hat. I'd wear it in public - 0crabby0, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Mmmmm jelly....

http://img340.imageshack.us/img340/6370/fhjellyrr3.png - MeenMrMustard, on 10/11/2007, -3/+3Hopefully global warming won't have some kind of effect on this Jellyfish and make them migrate to American shores, cause I'm already scared of the regular jellyfish that we get here, I don't know what I'd do if I saw the flower hat jelly
- Flappity, on 10/11/2007, -5/+4Really? Jellyfishing with you guys? Oh, that would be the best day ever in my book. I would love to go jellyfishing! I can’t think of anything I’d like to do more on my day off than go jellyfishing with my two best friends
