- Jsmuli2, on 05/08/2008, -17/+1Amazing, people can talk 1337 all they want yet if someone has a spelling error, someone always have to point it out.
- ayeroxor, on 05/08/2008, -1/+12Amazing. People can intentionally mess something up if they choose, but if it looks like they honestly don't know better, some people want to teach them. More amazing: some people can't tell the difference.

I guess someone's been spending too much time watching TV. - Lucas123, on 05/08/2008, -0/+5Already set as background.
- Genetico, on 05/08/2008, -1/+7Forgive my ignorance, but I never knew it snowed at the grand canyon. That looks beautiful!
- patpl22391, on 05/08/2008, -1/+29That's okay, ignorance is never in short supply on Digg.
- Teh1337Pirate, on 05/08/2008, -0/+1lol yeah the only time I've ever gotten to go to the Grand Canyon is was snowing....made it way too cold to enjoy; though it was beautiful.
- pinguwin, on 05/08/2008, -0/+2Admitting your ignorance is OK it just says, "I wasn't aware." Nothing wrong with that. The north rim of the canyon is higher than the south rim. It can be cold there in the winter. I slept in a tent on a very cold night once near the north rim and have to say it wasn't the most comfortable night I've ever had. Snow is reasonably common there in the winter.
- ElBeh, on 05/08/2008, -4/+3Did you hear that awful sound?
- circaxxxx, on 05/08/2008, -2/+3digg kills.
- galvo, on 05/08/2008, -19/+3National Geographic + Lack of ugly naked boobies = fail
- cgomez, on 05/08/2008, -1/+8National Geographic, not National Geographic Channel. NGC has shows like the Dog Whisperer rather than anything remotely interesting or educational.
- Coffeedemon, on 05/08/2008, -0/+3Tell me about it. I was so excited when I saw we had that channel with our new cable package. Thought I'd be watching those great specials all the time on cool places and peoples I would never get to see in person.... instead I get the dog whisperer and a whole load of ***** shows on hauntings and other pseudo-science crap ("Tune in at 8 for the Worlds largest oil tanker!!").
Show me an informative documentary on how the dog became domesticated and such a huge part of the human existance - *thats* what I expect from National Geographic.

- emix, on 05/08/2008, -0/+5I wish National Geographic pictures didn't have writing in the bottom corners. they would make great desktop pictures.

'save as'...
pleaaaaase- PabloMac, on 05/09/2008, -0/+1Since the image isn't on your hard drive at that point, "Save" or "Save As" would work equally well. Please yourself.

- BetterOffEd, on 05/08/2008, -0/+5Are you the lone person in western hemisphere who DOESN'T have Photoshop?
. - Kzoo, on 05/08/2008, -0/+0It's a little annoying, but the ability to easily save the pictures and use them greatly outweighs that, considering the expense National Geographic goes to for said pics.
- glasnostic, on 05/08/2008, -0/+12copy>save as>open with photoshop>clone stamp tool>save
- motogoat, on 05/08/2008, -0/+42Does anyone else dislike the way they refer to themselves on TV as 'NatGeo?'
It sounds so horrible...like they're trying to appeal to 12 year old kids or something.
It's National Geographic. It has been forever. Trying to 'cool it up' makes me lose respect for them on some level. It's a good outfit. But trying to sell it to younger people by using that terms is suspicious.- Kzoo, on 05/08/2008, -0/+1Sort of like the episode of Nova I watched yesterday, they were trying too hard to make geology "cool" or "exciting". In both cases, either you think it is, or you think it isn't; your loss if you don't.
- farfegnugen, on 05/08/2008, -0/+3NatGeo reminds me way too much of WaMu. I share your feelings. I wish they would stick to National Geographic.
- Lythium, on 05/09/2008, -0/+2...and WaMu inevitably makes me think of Shamu -.-
- Rwned, on 05/08/2008, -0/+3Good point. I hate when companies do that *****, like "Sunny D." ***** gay.
- shortyjacobs, on 05/08/2008, -0/+1***** A!
- videographer, on 05/09/2008, -0/+1Sorry to inform, but in the photography community they have been called NatGeo for decades now.
- xen0blue, on 05/08/2008, -16/+2there is not God, this is all entirely coincidental
- whiterice0, on 05/08/2008, -2/+10There is not literacy. Please stay in school.
- dylio, on 05/08/2008, -3/+5Not the God as we perceive it. If God is described as indescribable then how can we know if anything is his work if we cannot fathom who or what God is?
With that said
"God is Love" (1 John 4:8)

- killq, on 05/08/2008, -16/+1If you are too stupid to submit a link that works then you should refrain from submitting altogether. If a link doesn't work it is your responsibility to put up a mirror. Understood *****?
- chemchris, on 05/08/2008, -0/+1the person submitting the link has nothing to do with the site going down. It is because whoever owns the site has a hosting company that cant handle the sudden surge in traffic.

- shadowmoose, on 05/09/2008, -0/+2You do realize almost all photos in any publication have gone through photoshop or an equivalent right? And what's so bad about that? It makes them look so much better. If you want some crappy washed out photos go take your own and never open a magazine or book.

These pics made me want to travel more. If I can retire at 42 as I plan then maybe I will get to see them all. - ElumEnopee, on 05/08/2008, -0/+0Is it just me or does that first picture show where the water used to be? Looks like Lake Meade or Colorado River?

- ummagummas08, on 05/09/2008, -0/+1Those were beautiful images but the National Geographic needs to learn that in order for people to see who took the image, you have to make the text a different color than what you are putting it over.
- frisk415, on 05/09/2008, -0/+2The one in Brazil is absolutely nuts. Those hills and beaches make me want to live there. Too bad I don't speak Portuguese...

woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow
What the hell?
awsome - 808ethan, on 05/09/2008, -1/+1No its not amazing. We were made by nature and of nature so duh, of course we think its beautiful. Its about as amazing as us breathing oxygen as opposed to gold vapor or something else not in our air. OMG what a miracle coincidence!
- Shadewell, on 05/09/2008, -0/+1Sounds like we've got a bitter philosophy major here, its alright I'm sure you can get a job at a university or something.
- JMellissa, on 05/09/2008, -0/+1Wow!
- AvangionQ, on 05/11/2008, -0/+1These are some beautiful images, but I would have liked them to be available in multiple resolution scales ... expanding a 1024*768 image onto a 1600*1200 screen results in a distorted blurred image with lots of excess artifacts ...
