Nanotool Market Projected to Explode Over Next Five Years
smalltimes.com — Nanotools accounted for 12.8% of the market in 2007. Nanotools, which include the nanolithographic tools used to produce the next generation of semiconductors, are projected to grow at a much faster rate than nanomaterials.

- BCCStu, on 06/09/2008, -3/+15Nanotools are definitely going to be the wave of the future :)
- palmer, on 06/09/2008, -4/+1Yay! Let's put nanoparticles in everything, when we already know they cause asbestos-like damage and cancer!
- louiebaur, on 06/09/2008, -0/+7Never heard of them thanks for the information
- Gutterpunk, on 06/09/2008, -0/+1You never heard of something that accounted for 12.8% of THE WHOLE ***** MARKET? 12.8% of one of your local store is stocked with nanolithographic tools! Wake up dude!
Wow, have you been living under a rock?
/nanotool? wtf? The market? what market? wtf just happened...

- Lucas123, on 06/09/2008, -0/+13Here's the remarkable thing. Nanotools, such as nanolithography, work between the atomic level and 100 nanometers (1 nanometer = one billionth of a meter), and are used -- for example, to create circuitry in the fabrication of semiconductor integrated circuits. Nanotool technology is going to lead to the exponential growth in not only processing speed and memory capacity of chips, but also the ability to create independently functioning nanobots, which will be able to -- for example -- release medicine at a measured rate after being injected into your body, or to attack cancer cells, aiding white cells in fighting disease.
- cubicledrone, on 06/09/2008, -4/+1Sounds great. All the jobs will be shipped elsewhere, naturally, and the recently fired smart people will be trying to make a living selling patio mats on eBay.
- thumperings, on 06/09/2008, -1/+2do they have rubber on the bottom? I need one of those.
- Duositex, on 06/09/2008, -3/+1Where did you copy/paste that from? I swear I've read it... sounds like Kurzweil.

- HuskyPuzzle, on 06/09/2008, -0/+14This stuff is so crazy. I was blown away by a segment on 60 Minutes the other night about how using nano-particles to kill cancer cells might be the best way we've discovered yet, in eliminating tumors without damaging the tissue surrounding them. Bring on the science; we need more of these fresh ideas!
- samoan27, on 06/09/2008, -0/+10So what company should I invest in?
- TomK88, on 06/09/2008, -0/+12Diversify. Buy a basket of stocks that have to do with nanotools if you want to bet on the nanotool market expanding.
- sardion2000, on 06/09/2008, -0/+4Symbols to check out
FEIC, VECO

http://www.veeco.com/ - crazyjake, on 06/09/2008, -0/+4i also have wanted to know which companies were the best nano companies to invest in. also, i have never invested before, what is the best way to get into it?
- sardion2000, on 06/09/2008, -0/+1Option 1. Take a certified Securities course
Option 2. Hire a portfolio manager
Option 3. Gamble with little knowledge
All are risky but I'd go with Option 1 at a College or University to start. Anything else you see on TV is just snake oil. Do not believe those "investment program" TV commercials, they are scams to fool the stupid and uneducated. - VAXcat, on 06/09/2008, -1/+2 In investing, the only sure way to make a small fortune is to start with a big one.

- diggonit, on 06/09/2008, -1/+8I'm told that usually when a nanotool explodes, no one really notices.
- yacks, on 06/09/2008, -0/+2My question is, if the entire nanotech market explodes... should I take cover?
- a1cd, on 06/09/2008, -9/+0Looks like Apple is ahead of the game once again...
- sockpuppets, on 06/09/2008, -0/+7You're a nanotool.
- thumperings, on 06/09/2008, -0/+1that was a nanopwn.
- jfsimard79, on 06/09/2008, -0/+1That's probably going to become quite a popular insult in the next few years.
- sockpuppets, on 06/09/2008, -0/+7You're a nanotool.
- 2clone, on 06/09/2008, -10/+3@KevinRos..... er I mean @isuckcocks
Cut and Paste that again. I think it's working.
/me rolls eyes. - CDoug03, on 06/09/2008, -4/+1Horrible projections of future growth sectors projected over the next five years
- cubicledrone, on 06/09/2008, -5/+1U.S. workers, of course, will share in none of the rewards, even though their ideas and inventions were probably responsible for a significant amount of the value in the first place.
- Duositex, on 06/09/2008, -3/+2Duh.
- palmer, on 06/09/2008, -3/+8"Nanotools accounted for 12.8% of the market in 2007."
"The market"? WHAT market? Vague and meaningless.- sardion2000, on 06/09/2008, -1/+4The Nanotech market. This article is on a website dedicated to covering Micro/Nanotech(amoung other small technologies) market so when they post a story about said market they feel they don't have to spell it out for their readers who are enthusiasts or investors. It's more of an investor information site like Motley fool for "Small technology"/
- crapmatic, on 06/10/2008, -1/+1"the global market for nanotechnology was worth $11.6 billion in 2007"
Kind of in the same vein as the global market for fully functional, anthropomorphic sex robots being valued at about $32 billion (assuming all men on earth would pay an average of $10 for one). The difference here is no one is writing a headline about it. - NanoStuff, on 06/10/2008, -1/+1The nanotechnology market stupid.
- jstonedotorg, on 06/09/2008, -3/+0I can sell you some nanotools. Oh, woops, you broke them. Can I sell you some more?
- Kenzan, on 06/09/2008, -1/+2Have you noticed that all of cubicledrone's comments are super negative?
You really need to take a ***** happy pill dude. - mondoman89, on 06/09/2008, -0/+4I hope they fix the exploding problem in time.
- eggballs, on 06/09/2008, -1/+2I project a rather tiny explosion.
- jaymzdean, on 06/09/2008, -2/+1Nanotools to go with our Nanoliberties?
