- j3rm1981, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I don't care that my comment got buried...but it surprises me that only comments joking about the deterioration of the human mind are getting dugg.
Surely we all know someone who's gone through brain deterioration and known how painful it is to witness?
I'm just sayin'... - NikoKun, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3I know, I thought the same thing when I read that... LOL
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1It has long been held that central nervous tissue does not regenerate. Over time, this notion has been changing. This interview is nothing spectacular, but it does describe progress towards understanding the switches that allow neuronal regeneration within the brain. The longterm goal is to be able to regenerate brain tissue after injury (I'm thinking primarily trauma and stroke).
- wishninja, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1soon the rich and powerful will make themselves into a super race of people to rule and enslave us all.
- MuadDave, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1That's funny, my label says, "Astroglida". I thought astro meant "to prevent the effects of".
- Renton, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Scientists found a way to create nerve cells without the use of stem cells. This is important because nerve cells can't replicate if they are destroyed, like normal cells.
- j3rm1981, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2That sounds amazing...
The possible applications are staggering. - Stevethegreat, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1That's would be your problem for not demanding equal rights. Apart from this, the rich stopped to be a caste of people for 2 centuries now, they're coming from the middle class the rich people nowadays, which means that everything that goes there (to the rich) will eventually (a few years time) come here (the middle class)...
- gilgamesh23, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Our results are very encouraging, because the generation of correctly functional nerve cells from postnatal glia cells is an important step on the way to be able to replace functional nerve cells also after injuries in the brain,” underlines Magdalena Götz.
Or increase intelligence on an undamaged brain? - bharbhar, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2wanna get high?
- kindrobot, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1I use the so called “astroglia”. “Glia meaning “glue”, astro meaning "opposite of".
- Maddjonesy, on 10/10/2007, -1/+0Can't believe you're dugg down! Must be the bible-bashers!

- theboozer, on 10/10/2007, -5/+4People... you don't get it: Senility is nature's way of putting us to sleep. Who the eff wants to be 86 an remember everything clearly? I for one welcome my deteriorating mind... and by the time I'm 80; full on hope to be living in some weird surreal nightmare/fantasy where the world outside is an alien dimension filled with psychotic demons, and my lawnmower is a metal princess. Embrace it people! OId age is gonna suck!
- geezas, on 10/10/2007, -4/+2Is it just me, or does it really sound promising?
