What the ***** did you think was in those fries? Sunshine and carrots?
Sincerely,
Common Sense - tharealmegaman, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8I did a study and proved that they're 1/3 better tasting than other fries.
- applehill, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I'd like mine super sized please. yea thats right 2 shots
- nymphetamine, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3after i watched Supersize Me, i went straight down to carls jr and had me a big juicy burger.
- IKbot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Heh -- at this point 5 posts on how good fries are.
I wonder if there is a correlation with news about how bad decadent food is for you, and how much people enjoy eating them...
ohh
almost forgot
mmmmm... fatty accidy fried goodness. - mpeng168, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2McDonalds makes their money selling Big Macs and french fries (with beef flavoring). They never claimed that it was health food. Why is there uproar? Do other fast food chains offer healthier food?
You know, I should call my lawyer and sue them because I'm overweight. Who'da thunk that you could get fat eating 3 meals a day at McDonald's. No one ever told me. - br0ken1128, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3"Hey guess what JAWS...i don't really give a ***** flying fudge-sickle what you, the government, or any other smart-ass healthtard ***** has to say about fat. I'm ***** old enough to make my own decisions about what i eat and i sure as hell don't want you shoving your opinion up my ass every time i do it. If everyone would just stfu about McDonald's or "*****" and all this "fat is the worst thing ever for you omgo omg". Go eat ***** apples all day for all i care. That's YOUR decision. Not MINE. And my decision is MY decision, not YOURS. Besides, there's 44 grams of sugar in a glass of ***** grape juice. You probably get twice that much fat when you eat a steak. And that's all killing you...right?"
Geebus man, relax or you're gonna have a heart attack from all that fry fat in your arteries ;)
(kidding)
Yes, people have the right to choose what food they shove in their mouth, and nobody is saying you won't be able to fill your mouth with as many mcdonalds fries as you can fit in there, and chase it down with some bacon grease if you want to.. the point is that we also have the right to know exactly what's going into our bodies if we want to know..
I lost over 120lbs by keeping an eye on that information back in the day.. accuracy matters when you're watching your health..
So take a pill, find a midnight mcdonalds because it sounds like you're having grease withdraws ;) - Elysium1298, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I think that most people that step into McDonald's to get a nutritional meals is a complete idiot. McDonalds is BUSINESS and it's business is to sell found, should the be truthful about YES. It is everyones personal responsibility to find out how health any food is for you. You drove yourself to the McDonalds, you paid for the food because you wanted to, NOTHING says that you have to eat it. Stop crying and take responsibility for your own actions, don't blame McDonalds.
Great comment h198x !! - br0ken1128, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2"It has 8 grams of artery blocking goodness, and 30 grams of total fat. Fat is good for your body; it helps build healthy cell walls. Trans fat is the nasty daddy that wants to have a non-stop party in your arteries."
Wrong again ..
8 grams of trans fat (bad)
6 grams of SATURATED fat (bad)
8+6 = 14 grams of artery blocking goodness
The other 16 grams of fat are in the form of mono and polyunsaturated fat which are the good fats .. - LtJimDangle2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2mmmm......trans fatty acids
- multifaceted, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I guess that is one of the reasons I've lost weight since I've developed my allergy to corn. French fries have been cooked in vegetable oil since the 80's. Wonder how much fat they had in them when they where fried in grease.
By the time most kids about 4 they say their favorite vegetables is french fries. There are to many lazy parents letting there kids live on fast food. It isn't McD's fault children are having weight problems it is lazy parents not teaching healthy eating.
Just as it wasn't their fault I was over weight it was mine for having 6 Coca-Cola's and other things not very healthy for me. - grislygus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Morgan Spurlock is a conniving *****, people. What?! Kids know Ronald McDonald but they don't know Jebus?! A diet of only fast food will make me fat?! Garsh, I gots ter stop eatin' a them fancy ristorants.
Dipsticks. My god, a whole third extra trans-fat? But I METICULOUSLY calculated the fat content to include certain McDonalds meals in my diet...
If you want to lose weight, don't eat fast food. Mcdonald's food is terrible, so is BK's, so is Dairy Queen's, so is Wendy's, so is every fast food restaraunt. Why?
Because it's FRIED IN GREASE. It's not good for you. Duh.
And healthy alternatives... Healthy alternatives in Mcdonalds. In MCDONALD'S. Am I the only person who sees how ridiculous this is?!
If you want a "healthy alternative", make the damn salad yourself, you cretins. - SmeRndmGy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2it amazes me that people still eat this *****. hamburgers and fries are good, but the mcdonalds version is just crap (literally in some cases)

- ChrisW75, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It's not like anyone forces you to eat there. If you don't like it, don't eat it.
Luckily I live in Oz, so veggie oil fries for me! :-)
And I agree with wyrder42, I doubt that any other burger place is any worse than McDs. - SirBriggs, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Mmmm...tasty.
- bobothn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1mmmmmm tasty tasty grease. seriously who didnt know it was bad for you dont eat it if you dont like it.
- kAtalyst, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Lets all got t McDonalds and park our car in the McParkinglot, and walk through the McDoors, and order McFood from the McPloyees and all die from a McHeartattack.
- lepster10101, on 07/26/2008, -0/+1This means a large fries contains 30 grams (1 full shot glass) of artery blocking goodness. (complete bollocks) Oh and your body promptly breaks it down and kicks it out. Fools
- npacheco, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1You do realize it takes the body 3 years to metabolize transfat out of the arterys? You do realize the effects of meat from hormone-injected cows is permanent? heh
- h198x, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1If you need a government report to tell you that McDonald's fries are bad for you, then you deserve that massive heart attack.
- hiro, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Leave McDs alone, they do a valuable job in weeding out the world's crud and finishing them off. Natural selection at its best
- ToadX, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Wow... the large fries only have 25 - 30 grams of fat... I would've thought more.
- jaebidazyn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I do not think there is anything wrong with eating McDonalds about once or twice a month. It's when you EXCESSIVELY eat at McDonalds (ex: 3 times a day for breakfast, lunch, and dinner) that it is unhealthy and disgusting. I do not care for McDonalds that much anyway. Personally, I am a fan of Burger King
:-) - topey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'm loviiiiiiing it!
- chewbaccawokka, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Okay quit exaggerating, this isn't "far worse" than anything.
Burger King's fries pwn McDonald's 10 fold anyway. - gamerzworld, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This means a large fries contains 30 grams (1 full shot glass) of artery blocking goodness.
LOL!!! artery blocking goodness - kubedawg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Well, this did not come a surprise to me, but after seeing supersize me, i did goto mcdonalds and pick up a double qpc with mayo and kethup only large sized with a coke, and it tasted so good. in fact, after im done typing this, i think ill do the same.
- grislygus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@triphop
Good point, But I 'm sick of the "McDonalds markets to kids" argument. So what? It's the parents that take them. The kids may want to go to McDonalds, but if the parent doesn't take them, then they don't eat there. It's up to the parents to be discriminating FOR the children, which they aren't doing. McDonalds is a pretty greedy corporation, yes, but they're not the villains that we're painting them as.
We're having a real problem with people in America looking for scapegoats, rather than taking responsibility for their actions. While Spurlock meant to entertain, he also was playing off of a rising sentiment of "McDonalds is eeeeevil." Now, people are refering to Supersize Me as if it's the Bible of Good Health, which pisses me off.
Furthermore, I stand by my "healthy alternatives" statement. People are saying that this "one third more trans fats" thing is important, because people need to measure calories and fats. People eat at McDonalds because they like the food, even though they know it's bad for them. If you're on a diet, and going to McDonalds at all, then you're not really trying. That's it. - tyboulder, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1
***** McDonalds. That sycophantic PR person should be ****. - magneticpigeon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Wait....when did i think McDonalds was good?
Oh yeah...never. McDonalds is gross....as a matter of fact, pretty much all fast food joints gross me out, or at least, after eating at them, i feel gross. Ugh. - Phssthpok, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Super-Size me was right on the money.
No one thought that McDonald's food was healthy. But McDonald's hid how amazingly unhealthy it is. People should speak up, if a fast food joint is off by 30 FRICKIN percent!
And that is *after* McDonald's reformulated it. It use to be worse! One meal could get you your RDA for fat! McDonald's targets half their ads to kids. So don't cry about choice. That many ads on Nickelodeon is like brainwashing. - panique, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1For those of you that didn't know, that's about 1/2 of what your body can use in one day. You'll probably get the other half (if not more) from the Big Mac that goes with the fries. Every gram of fat over that goes straight to your [beer|fries|coke] belly. Just 10g daily = 1lb weight gain in 1 year.
Yeah, I'm a nutrition geek too. =) - Infideler, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I just finished my chicken sandwich. Once a month isn't terrible.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Salt.
I couldn't care less about the fat, but what the ***** is up with the salt they're putting int heir fries at McDonald's these days? Seriously, I don't eat their fries anymore because the one I go to puts SO much salt on their fries that it actually HURTS YOUR TONGUE and you have to throw them away. - xNaquada, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Transfats are not banned in Canada,
All food labels must clearly state their Saturated AND transfat content&percentage of daily dose.
Banned? please dont speak for my country. - triphop, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"Transfats are not banned in Canada, "
They are not banned anywhere AFAIK. They should be labelled so that consumers can make a choice about ingesting toxins. - HankReardenJr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"McDonalds is deserving of scorn for serving food that's unhealthy"
Why? I have the right to eat unhealthy food if I want & they have the right to sell it to me. The only "scorn" should be for people who bitch about their food being unhealthy. Use common sense. If you don't want it... DON"T EAT IT. No one is making you eat it. - dlindberg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Anyone who eats that crap gets what they deserve.
- wyrder42, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Credit where it's due.
Sadly, everyone here is just saying, "oh yeah, McDonalds, yeah they're bad." But, if McDonalds is bad (and they are, no doubt), where do you think that puts all the *other* burger-and-fry franchises at? Do you realistically think Burger King or Wendys' have french fries that are better for you? I seriously doubt it.
In fact, while on the one hand McDonalds is deserving of scorn for serving food that's unhealthy, the company nevertheless deserves some measure of praise for at least marginally attempting to offer some slightly less unhealthy items on their menu. - snarkey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1
"This means a large fries contains 30 grams (1 full shot glass) of artery blocking goodness."
Body Shots!!! - p1nhead, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1As a vegetarian obsessed with health, nutrition, and organic food, I have to say, this is disgusting. I knew people were stupid, but certain foods are worth more to you than health and longevity? I thought smoking was a dumb ***** habit, but at least you get a slight buzz from that! I'm convinced that some people would eat dog ***** if it were covered in ketchup. The thought of grease and oil and frying just makes my hippie heart cringe. :)
Let's get serious here: there is a real problem in America. We ruin our bodies with fast food, our minds with television, and our environment with mounds upon mounds of pure, unrecycled trash. Are we adults or are we children? We're acting more like the latter. Regardless, we need to look at our habits in a different light and ask ourselves about the future. - manicarzo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0So that's why they're so expensive
- LNahid2000, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"Transfats are banned in Denmark and Canada"
Really? Then how did I buy Oreos with 5 grams of transfat per serving last week? And almost everything sold in the grocery store seems to have hydrogenated oil in it. At least more products are starting to have "No transfat" on them. - phunlee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I actually took a year long break from McDonalds. It was nice. I wish I could stay away from all fast food...but it's just sooo eeeaaaasyy.
- abchealt, on 05/07/2008, -0/+0It's hard to eat well when eating out, especially when you have dietary needs or want to watch your calorie intake. Often food items that seem healthy and are marketed that way are not. It's amazing how hard restaurant chains are fighting to hide their nutrition information. It's hard to eat well when eating out, especially when you have dietary needs or want to watch your calorie intake. Often food items that seem healthy and are marketed that way are not. For this reason, Wellsphere just launched a new service called Wellternatives that lets people find nutrition info for thousands of chain restaurants — right from their cell phone or on the web. It also makes recommendations for a healthier alternative to your favorite restaurant meals, hence the name.
- nytechy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0wow, an Egg Mcmuffin (Grade A egg, Canadian-style bacon, slice of American cheese on a toasted English muffin) has: 300 calories, 230 Cholesterol (77% of your daily value), 860 Sodium. I think i'm done eating fast food for a while.
- PhilliesBlunt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Remember how after Super Size Me came out and all the fast food joints started offering healthy alternatives for a while? Not only are most of them gone, but they seem to have taken the opposite approach and tried to one-up each other in making the fattiest food they can possibly conceive of. (Chicken Fries, anyone?)
Seriously though, who eats at McDonalds for a healthy, balanced meal? - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Great... now I'm craving Whataburger. >.
