- Namco, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2It was Colonel Mustard, in the kitchen, ...with the pistol.
- cerilia, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"I hate my boyfried I will kill him in his sleep."
"This bullet to the head will do the trick."
"Okay now I will just let him lay there dead."
"What the f, he woke up alive!?!?!"
"No, I have no idea why you're bleeding, I didn't hit you."
"I can't even kill him in his sleep!!?!?!" - DesertSquirrel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yes. Yes it does
- tralfamadore, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1What I'm wondering about is how he drove his car, and was able to see at all. How deep do you think the bullet could have gone? Now unless the bullet got stuck in the skull, the mans eye sight would have been severely effected since the front of the brain deals mostly with the eyes. This story feels fake. I'm screaming yellow journalism!
- ruca, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1this story rules
- wtfunkymonkey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Something about this story sounds a little fishy too me. I'm not buying it.
Say my head is bleeding for some unknown reason, I'd look in the mirror, right? I think I'd see a freakin' hole in my head!
If the girlfriend did shoot him, wouldn't she have been more than just a little flabbergasted to see him up and talking shortly after?
How did he sleep through the gunshot?
Why didn't she hear the gunshot (if she didn't shoot him)?
Assuming she had shot him, why didnt she leave the scene? Why kill herself? Why, if she had already planned on killing herself didn't she do it already?
Just doesn't make any sense. - JPhilipson, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Irony is great!
- ezweave, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The brain has no nerves.
She was 12 years older than him... ick. Did this happen in a trailer park? (haha) - Arkitan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This guy should get employee of the year at his work.
- thefurryone, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0How exactly do you coup-de-grace headshot a sleeping person and fail to kill them?
- DesertSquirrel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0^^ That's probably why she offed herself at the end of it all (assuming it was her)
- wstrinz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0erm... wow? quite odd.
- thenativeraver, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0What the *****???
the guy's girlfiend killed herself??
she must have tried to kill him or something. - SkateorDie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0the GF made him goto the hospital by shooting him in the head so she herself could commit suicide
- DesertSquirrel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"It is amazing how much direct trauma the brain can take if for whatever slim reason the wound isn't fatal."
This is why it's posted under science erossetto. Also b/c I couldn't think of what else to file it under. - giggins, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This is crazy
- krum0786, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I'll I can say is "what the *****?"
- erossetto, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0why was this posted under "sciene"?
- diggnationdevon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I agree with the above comment, the ending is sad. But I am glad she failed to kill him.
- CoffeeCup, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Wow, Talk about a heavy sleeper! Takes a bullet in the head and keeps right on sleeping... seriously though did he not touch the wound to wipe it off and notice that it was actually hollow? Chicks these days are just ***** nuts... *shakes head and remembers crazy ex gf's
- groverallnight, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"I wish the south would just crack and fall off into the ocean. ***** burnouts."
Stupidity and violence are prevalent all over the world. I'd like to know where you live that is completely devoid of human-like human beings. - Pizpump, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"Just doesn't make any sense."
Sure it does. It's called traumatic shock. It's when your conscious self cannot accept what has just happened and essentially makes it non-real. Totally plausible story. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0ha ha ha ha LOL if she did try to kill him and failed miserably then killed herself
- misterpony, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Sad ending. :(
- thewordwasgod, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0reminds me of a story i heard:
a man got in a fistfight in a store parking lot, after it was over, he walked off thinking that he got away with nothing more then a fist to the forhead. when he looks in a mirror to examine himself he sees that he has a car-key protruding from his forhead.
it is amazing how much direct trauma the brain can take if for whatever slim reason the wound isnt fatal. - !3en, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0She probably drugged him.
- 0zzy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Are you guys serious? 12 years older when they are at that age aint anything, semma ya wierdos. Anyways, this is f'd up. Like, seriously -.-
- shinynew, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0de'm bullets are weak p'wfull weak
- Warptera, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Hmmmm.... He didn't wake up at the sound of a gunshot, or he was knocked unconscious and lost his memory of the incident?
- reaver, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0she sucks at killing people.
- dademarco, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Where is the "How's this relate to technology?" comment? Still some funny stuff. How bad does a relationship have to be to take these steps
- paolonorte, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The ending is HILARIOUS. She tried to kill him, point blank, not moving, FAILED. How successful do you suppose the rest of her life was? Sorry, normally I can be a pretty compassionate person, but she justly deserves a Darwin award.
- DesertSquirrel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Damn, removed from the front page
- ase111, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Survival of the fittest, at its finest. Seriously, she was troubled, and she as heck got hers with that miserably failed murder attempt.
And score one for the human brain, eh? Sure is durable. - panique, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Geez, best watch whom you're sleeping with. Same thing got Phil Hartmann, and I'm still bummed about that.
- Mfrosty, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0wouldn't someone have said something to him.....maybe at work?
- Xcoded, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This is by *FAR* the best story of the year
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0> it is amazing how much direct trauma the brain can take if for whatever
> slim reason the wound isnt fatal.
Yes, well, when doling out headshots, a firm grasp of brain anatomy and skull structure is helpful.
If you're trying to kill someone, the brain stem is a good place to start.
As it turns out, the frontal lobe really isn't all that necessary (remember, up until a few years ago, "doctors" were handing out lobotomies for their "uncurable" patients like it was cool... very few of them died... the patients that is). - DesertSquirrel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It was picked up by the AP and reported on USA today, so if it's fake, the digg community isn't the only ones to be suckered by the story.
- 0zzy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Also, this is a science section, this is scienctific to a point, so it deserves to be on digg! THANKS
- FireRabbit, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Don't ya'll remember that episode of CSI where the man didn't realize he had a big piece of wood lodged in his forehead? :)
Back in the real world, I remember a story a while ago about a man who went to the dentist complaining about a toothache.. and the dentist ended up finding a nail lodged into the roof of his mouth. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/4179877.stm - AndFrom, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0A 53-year-old man with a a 65-year-old girlfriend?! That means when she was a senior in highschool, he was still in kindergarten!
- DesertSquirrel, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0The whole thing is effed up. Only in America
- AttroPheed, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0I wish the south would just crack and fall off into the ocean. ***** burnouts.
