- AgenteSegreto, on 10/11/2007, -1/+20way too much work, but i'd pay $15-18 for one if you start selling them
- xXShadowstormXx, on 10/11/2007, -9/+23Damn. Everytime I try to digg up someone, it is so incredibly slow and Firefox freezes for 1-2 seconds every time I try to do so.
This thing sucks now, man. - crazybus24, on 10/11/2007, -1/+13mirror:
Duggmirror caught it
http://duggmirror.com//general_sciences/Make_a_Video_Game_Pixel_Art_T_Shirt/plain.html - MarvelingOne, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8Well there are a lot of users that have more weight when digging stories than others
- ShiverMeBoner, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7You can use fabric paint instead. They sell it at craft stores and online.
- laurarena, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6wrong topic, but cool none-the-less.
- arcooke, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5You can't sell anything with popular video game characters like that.. those are protected.
- SushiCW, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6Deserves it though. I'm glad submissions still have a chance if they don't break through in the first hour and a half...
- TehAnna, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4If you use Textile Medium with the acrylic paint, it basically turns the acrylic into fabric paint, and will be less likely to wash out over time.
- Gadren, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5Those look quite nice! But I wonder how durable it is.
- Squar3d, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3As long as you don't live in Boston..
- rspeed, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4How would CafePress become involved with that?
- merdiesel, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4Well this will go in my huge list of cool things I have found on digg that I will never actually do.
- nikfix, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3This is really cool. I think I'm gonna give it a try with Excitebike. Good work.
- N080dy, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4This makes me nostalgic - I didn't know duggmirror caught anything anymore!
- MarvelingOne, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4actually looking at who did digg this story my guess would be it really jumped to the front page after Keven dugg it, or the slow news day
- mushoo, on 10/11/2007, -2/+4Someone's a fan of R Stevens.
"My Sharpie is Quick"
http://rstevens.livejournal.com/201478.html - Linds, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2The thing I don't like about using acrylic paint on a tshirt is it dries really stiff. Not only is it uncomfortable, but it looks really poorly done. :(
I'll stick to paying a little bit extra to get things screen printed at a place that knows what they are doing. - Mesach, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1to a teeth?
do you mean "To a T"???
TO A T - "We use this expression very commonly in the sense of minute exactness, perfection; as, the coat fits to a T; the meat was done to a T. It is easy to dismiss the origin of the expression as, I am sorry to say, some of our leading dictionaries do, by attributing it to the draftsman's T-square, which is supposed to be an exact instrument, but the evidence indicates that the expression was in common English use before the T-square got its name. 'To a T' dates back to the seventeenth century in literary use and was undoubtedly common in everyday speech long before any writer dared to or thought to use it in print. But it is likely that the name of the instrument, 'T-square,' would have been in print shortly after its invention, yet the first mention is in the eighteenth century. The sense of the expression corresponds, however, with the older one, 'to a tittle,' which appeared almost a century earlier, and meant 'to a dot,' as in 'jot or tittle.' Beaumont used it in 1607, and it is probably that colloquial use long preceded his employment of the phrase..." From "2107 Curious Word Origins, Sayings & Expressions from White Elephants to a Song and Dance" by Charles Earle Funk (Galahad Books, New York, 1993). - ShiverMeBoner, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Damn you, typo! I made a metroid SHIRT, not a metroid *****.
- ShiverMeBoner, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1dude, I made a Metroid ***** today and it only took a couple of hours. It's awesome. The longest part was using a hairdrier to make it dry.
The article says that the whole point is NOT having anything like silkscreens or iron ons and still being able to do something like this. It's actually fun to do, especially when you get some friends together and all make different shirts. - OwdenBowden, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1CafePress SUCKS. They banned a few of my Nuke France Designs and they are out of control when it comes to pricing and you actually making some money.
- getliquified, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1i want a mario t-shirt
- inactive, on 01/13/2009, -0/+1that is nice video.
http://www.babatek.com/65w-toshiba-laptop-ac-adapt ... - sarahsarah, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0How about a stencil? Then you can make multiple shirts.
http://www.stencilrevolution.com/tutorials/ or http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=10173.0
I used the tape technique to make a wall mural of Mario jumping over a pipe, about two years ago. It's a lot of work for a small t-shirt. - heynoop, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0you should buy one then.
- thenuttman, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1What if instead of Mario & Peach, it was a representation of Kevin & Alex? And instead of $18, it was $20...
http://nerdbeater.com - dodus, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1Even making a homemade silkscreen and screening it yourself would be faster than this.
- GutterMoo, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1My thoughts exactly. Dieselsweeties ftw
- jknevitt, on 10/11/2007, -2/+2I expect someone to start selling them on CafePress any moment now.
- wayne247, on 10/11/2007, -1/+0Yes, here's what I got of the page: Unable to connect to database server
If you still have to install Drupal, proceed to the installation page.
Not sure how this relates to pixels... - rastakid, on 10/11/2007, -1/+0"You can't sell anything with popular video game characters like that.. those are protected."
Would that also hold true for 8bit characters? I mean, what if I reduce a character to 8bit, would that still be protected? - bernardi, on 10/11/2007, -1/+0You could even just order a custom Tee from a place like shutterfly.
http://www.shutterfly.com/shop/product_c10034-p2006/Apparel_Jewelry_T_shirts - bwishey, on 10/11/2007, -2/+1Or... you can just take up screen printing and be done in about 5 minutes?
- Senseless, on 10/11/2007, -2/+1Or you could try Zazzle or Cafepress though they DO have an official policy against copyrighted art...
- prydonian93, on 10/11/2007, -4/+2You know, this COULD be so much easier.
I mean, ever heard of IRON-ON TRANSFERS!?!?!?! - joemono, on 10/11/2007, -3/+1Simple?
- wayne247, on 10/11/2007, -3/+1I does, I can't take it anymore! Unthreaded was a lesser evil than this. I get my digg in RSS under Thunderbird, and occasionally, I click two or three digg pages to open in Firefox at the same time. Well, that certainly kills firefox for a solid 10 seconds, despite that generously modern computer I happen to have...
- LR2_, on 10/11/2007, -4/+2Where the heck is my 8-bit Tie from thinkgeek. Its been almost 3 months.
http://www.thinkgeek.com/apparel/hats-ties/9352/
Oh, well. - 1ncontrol, on 10/11/2007, -10/+7Submitted 5 days ago, made popular with 30 diggs... WTF???
- merrickx, on 10/11/2007, -5/+1Digg front page time before crashing: 30 seconds... almost to a teeth.
- dakilla91, on 10/11/2007, -7/+2Dead already at 65 diggs......wow.....anyone have a mirror?
- nafisto, on 10/11/2007, -6/+0Has nobody heard of cafepress.com? Much easier.
- CFRHoar, on 10/11/2007, -6/+0FINALLY A WAY TO SHOW EVERYONE IM CREATIVE AND A NERD TOO
- heiroglyph, on 10/11/2007, -13/+1Buried as inaccurate, the site is dead.
Please bury all dead sites, they are a waste of time.
