- talonstriker, on 04/22/2008, -0/+3is it just me who is completely confused by the 4th picture?
Oh and the 5th one is just begging for a caption. Someone--get on it! - gummih, on 04/22/2008, -0/+2http://ngm.nationalgeographic.com/wallpaper/downlo ...
- karan1003, on 04/22/2008, -0/+2not big enough
- rspeed, on 04/23/2008, -0/+2Because that would take an extremely long exposure. Any exposure of more than ~1 sec is considered to be long.
- inactive, on 04/22/2008, -0/+1Very nice pictures, the first and seventh one are exceptional.
- OneLess, on 04/22/2008, -0/+1It's at the bottom of the page as a link to "Special Issues".
- bogoslav, on 04/24/2008, -0/+1I can create such a pic in Photoshop in an hour, but it's unbelievable that such a beauty has been created by itself (or, let's say, by space?)
- Brodels, on 04/22/2008, -0/+1Drugs are bad, mmmkay?
- inactive, on 04/22/2008, -0/+1"Rift Valley, Tanzania—A camera’s long nighttime exposure reveals the red glow of lava spilling from Mount Ol Doinyo Lengai. The volcano’s lava, which appears brown to the naked eye, has the consistency of olive oil."
wait wait wait.... long nighttime exposure? Normally I would never doubt Nat Geo, but if this is a long nighttime exposure why do the stars appear as single points rather than streaks? - jix3333, on 04/22/2008, -0/+1Done. :)
- mikemc620, on 04/22/2008, -0/+1where is that penguin picture?
- v10vipe, on 04/22/2008, -0/+1These shots are extremely good and imaginative...I really don't understand that sand dune tree one, just looks fake! It's always been one of my dreams to shoot for them
- nikimedia, on 03/10/2009, -0/+0Im sure you can but I'd love to see this image as a photo on canvas to bring out the vibrancy and detail. Or as a canvas print gallery wrap on a wall. It would be amazing and it does much more justice to see it on a canvas medium than on a computer screen. check out the canvas print styles at http://www.chiccanvas.com for good examples.
- terryhuang, on 04/22/2008, -2/+2chilling yet beautiful
- Etherion, on 04/22/2008, -0/+0I'm also looking for the picture from the thumbnail...
- p34r, on 04/22/2008, -0/+0Click on "Special Issues" at the bottom, then 100 Best Pictures Vol.1, then Wallpaper and it's in there, 3rd pic from the left.
