Priceless - terrachronos, on 10/10/2007, -68/+252You laugh but the christian wet dream is to take us all back to the dark ages and force everyone to worship their god.
FACT: Humanity would be much more advanced at this stage if it weren't for religion. - PrettyLadyGrace, on 10/10/2007, -41/+174If they're gonna teach intelligent design, i think they should teach flying sphaghetti monsterism alongside christianity
- Siraf, on 10/10/2007, -13/+142Shut up. This is how classes are taught in Utah, Kansas, and most other states with high teen pregnancy rates. In a Utah school, I was told that 1 out of 6 condoms will break.
This ***** still happens. - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -10/+118You ruined the punchline!
- Hetman, on 10/10/2007, -20/+126Who needs science when you have a magical book with all the answers?
- dattaway, on 10/10/2007, -16/+98Kansas is also a no helmet state. Few people riding motorcycles here wear helmets, which might imply few believe in evolution.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -5/+83C-C-C-Combo Breaker!
- tnatharik, on 10/10/2007, -11/+81Dude, Whats your point? Magic > Science.
- browwiw, on 10/10/2007, -7/+65Then stop letting them make decisions about the public education system.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+59you bitch! you bitch!
- browwiw, on 10/10/2007, -7/+62Yeah, go somewhere else far away.
- bashturd, on 10/10/2007, -27/+77This is ***** stupid. I've lived in kansas my whole life, and there are PLENTY of regular people in our state, it's just the few crazies who are giving us a bad name.
- Sabin17, on 10/10/2007, -44/+93Stereotyping people = Satire?
- daedalous, on 10/10/2007, -3/+50FACT: Life demands Lysol®.
- WorldLeader, on 10/10/2007, -7/+52Got to love Kansas.
As a student (in Kansas) I find that in reality the teachers just don't care what the school boards tell them to do and teach their own way. I have learned about evolution, birth control, foreign countries, and even *gasp* the FSM from my teachers.
I do like this comic though.. - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -4/+45Yeah, I've never understood how magic is the tool of the devil, but walking on water, the transmutation/multiplication of fish+loaves, raising the dead etc etc etc is all good and the acts of god!
- browwiw, on 10/10/2007, -11/+51I disagree. War time research furthers science. Most wars are caused by religion and the cult of personality that supports religion. Thus, without religion there would be no war, would be no scientific advancement. Well, advancement in how to fragment other human beings, that is.
- wendelgee2, on 10/10/2007, -2/+37That was one punchline among many.
- fredrated, on 10/10/2007, -2/+36According to a doctor friend of mine, this is a good thing for organ donations. When people riding donorcycles with helmets have an accident they don't die immediately, but linger long enough for their organs to fail. People riding donorcycles without helmets die immediately and their organs become available while still fresh.
- marcee, on 10/10/2007, -6/+36Well, maybe then someone would read the post BEFORE reading the comments ^_^
- wendelgee2, on 10/10/2007, -7/+36No. It's not.
When I went there to talk to teachers (for work), they were terrified of the "parent organizations" that constantly hound them.
Those "few crazies" were elected because they share the viewpoint with a large segment of the population. - sbrickner, on 10/10/2007, -5/+33Don't confuse why the King wants the war with why the soldiers fight it. If the King can't sell it, it doesn't happen, and religion is the best way to sell it. Even today.
- Elshender, on 10/10/2007, -1/+29FACT: Bears eat beets. Bears, beets, Battlestar Galactica.
- cjsedwards, on 10/10/2007, -10/+35Magic! But magic is evil. All harry potter books should be burned. Don't worry about them releasing greenhouse gases, that's just a myth
- cjsedwards, on 10/10/2007, -4/+26Science is about experiments... why teach what science has proved to be wrong?
- badjoke, on 10/10/2007, -3/+25I'll digg you down for your bad grammar.
- wendelgee2, on 10/10/2007, -3/+25what's a moonbat? do they eat fruit, or insects?
- Saad85, on 10/10/2007, -3/+25-9 people, apparently.
- kingofthisnight, on 10/10/2007, -18/+40I hate when people bash Kansas education. As a future educator in Kansas I get frustrated with this subject. Yes creationism did pass but now has been repealed. As for sex education I was taught safe sex practices. Then when it comes to the quality of education we are an underfunded state yet we have higher test scores than most other states.

- ziffel, on 10/10/2007, -1/+21"***** all you ... I'm a Christian"
Priceless. - bradallen18, on 10/10/2007, -4/+24correct!
- LowROI, on 10/10/2007, -1/+21I like his cross with the carbon hydrogen oxygen stemming from it in the background.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -3/+23Science is based on evidence and is not a democracy. The teaching the controversy or 'diversity' argument is a *****. The basics of science is pretty much set and there is no controversy (yes, There is no justified argument against Evolution by REAL science or scientists).
- NeoCortex, on 10/10/2007, -2/+22Harry Potter?
- PATSCRU, on 10/10/2007, -2/+21wow, you're a douchebag.
- ShainRules, on 10/10/2007, -4/+23I'm not sure if you know how digg works, but see, it has this crazy system where if people like something, they can click "digg" and it counts, sort of like a "vote" maybe, and after it gets enough "diggs" it moves to the front page, where everyone can see it!
I know the concept is pretty difficult, so if it takes you a little bit to fully grasp it, don't be ashamed. - MatthewBlack, on 10/10/2007, -2/+18I believe in religion, in that I believe it exists. I just don't believe the things that it teaches are correct.
- tech42er, on 10/10/2007, -2/+18Potassium iodide ftw!
- SenorCardgage74, on 10/10/2007, -1/+17Ya know, Jedi arent supposed to force push people cuz thats a dark old Sith thang.
- altf13, on 10/10/2007, -2/+17Evolution is based on science; creationism is a religious belief, and is in no way an alternative to evolution.
- browwiw, on 10/10/2007, -5/+20That's right! Ignore the problem and it will go away! Brilliant!
- outlaw686, on 10/10/2007, -7/+22What about Leonardo da Vinci? He made many contributions to science and was also religious. There are many other religous people that have furthered science, of every religion. The Egyptians build there pyramids mostly because of there religion and were great astronomers because they believed their pharaoh was a living god. The ancient Greeks and Romans built great structures for there gods, inventing the cornerstone of modern architecture. Many great works of literature and human insight came out of those times and the basis of which are still heard of today. And I'm sure there are plenty of people who can think of others as well.
I am not religious my self, I really do not believe anyone is wrong in there beliefs or how they choose to live there lives. I'm not exactly sure what we are doing here or what our purpose is if we have any.
But I do know one thing. You sir are dead wrong. - DeFex, on 10/10/2007, -2/+17FACT: you are more likely to be eaten by a shark than win the powerball.
- drmangrum, on 10/10/2007, -1/+15Evolution has evidence to support it. Creationism has faith.
Evolution can be be observed (just watch a few generations of bacteria become immune penicillin) . Creationism was dreamed up.
Evolution is scientific theory that can be altered when new data is brought forth. Creationism is a belief that, beliefs can not be altered. - tippmann1, on 10/10/2007, -6/+20just double wrap it :)
- multipotential, on 10/10/2007, -2/+16"...convenient how quickly you forget all the positive things done in history by people in the name of Christ."
Believers of the FSM are trying to do something positive in history too by pointing out how ridiculous it is to replace scientific theories with superstition-influenced policies in public schools. Save religious discussions for college philosophy classes, but keep it out of biology, geology, sex education, etc. It's rather foolish, imo, to teach baseless religious theories alongside scientific theories based on observable evidence. - browwiw, on 10/10/2007, -2/+15Yeah, and if the people fighting wars were educated and enlightened instead of ignorant and superstitious then maybe they would refuse to participate in those wars.
