"O RLY?" - eplawless, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16http://www.pishmo.com/macro/zhuchki_17.jpg wtf
- drbroccoli, on 10/12/2007, -3/+19Don't down digg him! He's just trying to make the "most dugg down" list. Digg him up! Frustrate him!

- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -6/+18I for one welcome our new insect overlords.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11Correction: Insects, by definition, can only have exactly six legs.
But who cares, the photos are great. - webguy2k, on 10/12/2007, -3/+14Despite being really good photographs... some of these insects really scare me...
- w0nt0n, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Think some of the creatures in the "Spore" demo look funny? All you have to do is look in your backyard for the aliens among us.
- fuggo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Yeah, but what if the frog had 6 legs?
- matthiasgoodman, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8You must have a really strange penis if you think that.
Maybe playing with it less would keep it from being such strange colors. - ellimist, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Except that... it does have the images.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5"Don't down digg him! He's just trying to make the "most dugg down" list. Digg him up! Frustrate him!"
Or just ignore him. - drbroccoli, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Hahaa!
Well, thats a threat posture really. Being a defenseless caterpillar, it is dependant on assuming scary shapes to avoid being eaten. Most likely a response to the photographer. - Arbus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5@ lunarnall
Their eyes are like bundles of fiber optic cables. The black "pupil" appears to look at you because you're looking straight down a small group of lenses into the actual eye. I think they do it just to creep everyone out. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Hah! That insect in the 5th picture has the right idea, using your ass to scratch your head!
- Steelfox, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7You didn't know Praying Mantis' were satanic?
- RandomSkratch, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5The hard thing is getting those insects to cooperate.
Okay listen just look.. no stop chewing on the leaf.. LOOK AT ME.. ok good now just hold for... DAMNIT you have the attention span of a GNAT! Oh.. err umm I'm sorry, I didn't mean to insult your race.. it's just that I've had a long day and.. oh sure just fly away......I hate my life..... - devindotcom, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5I see pages and links like this maybe weekly, but they never fail to amaze me. Macro photography is fun as hell, and once you get the gear for it you can't stop.
- Hindu_Wardrobe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful.
Even if you're afraid of them, those are some amazing creatures, you have to admit.
And some of those are just so cute and fuzzy! /Girly
I love insects. :)
BTW, I want whatever camera the photographer used. - drbroccoli, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Step aside owl, we now have an O RLY mantid!
- CamZak, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4http://duggmirror.com/general_sciences/Insect_Macrophotography_30_Photos/d49fc0b50c145d3a8c9d8f7891cb1f62_zhuchki_01.jpg
Wow! The original mirror is dugmirror! Whoa! Amazing
/sarcasm for the stupid people who can't tell - drbroccoli, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Oh. I personally saw "Jabba the Hutt"
- geekologist, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4YA RLY.
- dacheetah, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4What about Eric?
"Half a bee, philosophically, must ipso-facto, half-not-be, but can a bee be said to be, or not to be, an entire bee, if half the bee is not a bee, due to some ancient injury?" - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I agree, I was surprised at how cute some of these things look up close. Weird.
Cute and cuddly insects? :S - unversed, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Yes you're right you were buried
- Necho, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Very cool, but with all I know I'm looking at possible bosses out of the next Resident Evil... anyone care to label them?
- dacheetah, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Wikipedia has an entry for SimonTheMime!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_troll - dacheetah, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3According to Babelfish:
"neveroyatni of the macro of photograph - to vizhte gi"
Somehow I don't think all of it was perfectly translated... Still better than I could do... - gumigecko, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I like the two random frogs.
- virtualball, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5What is that thing?
A moth? - eatmyjustice, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5no doubt... I'm expecting some serious nightmares tonight.
- scottylist, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Alien Invasion!!!
- Wavey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Great shots of mantids -- my favorite insects. The only insect that can turn its head 180 degrees and look over its shoulder. Just so alien and fascinating.
- woodie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I want whatever amazing camera took those pictures; the focus and quality is insane.
- lunarnall, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2So I can transform grasshoppers by ripping off two of their legs? What do they become if they aren't insects anymore?!
- drbroccoli, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Some of them seemed to have almost human poses. For example http://pishmo.com/macro/zhuchki_29.jpg.
Doesn't he just look so content? - ephraimX, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Man, I wish I could always have a truckload of lighting rigs on me when snapping macro shots in the outdoors -- nearly impossible to get anything close to these with natural light, alas.
- athletics, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2This is in Bulgarian (EU -> Bulgaria). Translation is:
"32 incredible macro photographs - check them out!!" - ZenMojo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The scary thing about the mantis pictures on my monitor is that, if I ever saw a mantis head that big it would be busy already eating me.
- sapo916, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2There is nothing human about 404s.
(Yes I know, remove the dot, no need to pretend youre smart.) - OpCzar, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I'd squish that.
- lunarnall, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3About those praying mantises: Why do they have "pupils" (the black dots on their massive eye whats-its)? Is there a purpose that they have those? It's not like they have human eyes with pupils...
- dacheetah, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2This is why I always put a space at the end of any urls I type in digg.
And yes, he looks like the fat-insect equivalent of Burns while saying "Excellent..." - aurrea, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2wtf is that first bug? That punk rock hair is crazy...
I don't think we have those in the states. - brewno2k, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2For those who liked these photos, you should watch the movie Microcosmos.
imdb: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0117040/ - MystyRayne, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Thats some of the most coolest ***** i ever saw! Not sure why the tree frog was thrown in, maybe just for kicks (har dee har).
- MrZap, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1http://www.photo.net/photos/siwanowicz
