- 501337, on 10/10/2007, -5/+162Am I the only one who thought that the web covered the entire park? I have to say I'm a little disappointed
- Bricks, on 10/10/2007, -0/+126"experts say the web may have been constructed by social cobweb spiders, which work together, or could be the result of a mass dispersal"
I'm almost positive this is infringing on some Google patent. Those spiders should seek legal council, fast. - euphemizeme, on 10/10/2007, -1/+108Web 2.0
- magnum818, on 10/10/2007, -0/+74Sign that the world is coming to an end. Spiders are now trying to catch mammals!
- Xkers, on 10/10/2007, -2/+72My god. That's why I don't go in the basement.
- orangester, on 10/10/2007, -6/+65Everything is bigger in Texas.
- reddevil3, on 10/10/2007, -4/+57What a lame pic...surely AP could do better?
- Kazanoe, on 10/10/2007, -1/+50I second that. I was also looking for a child-sized spider.
Didn't get to see that either. - JustinHopewell, on 10/10/2007, -0/+45I'll phone DHS immediately. Clearly, this is a prime example of arachnoterrorism.

- Daniel001, on 10/10/2007, -0/+30Bigger pic or it didn't happen?
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+29would be cool if spiders got organized like ants or bees, and went out hunting large mammals together.
- Harbinger67, on 10/10/2007, -2/+27***** mosquitoes, this thing owns.
- bastian89, on 10/10/2007, -2/+27until they hunt you
- physphd, on 10/10/2007, -0/+23True. Years ago I was training in Panama, and there were some HUGE tarantulas that could catch and eat birds and snakes. They even made sharp chirps or barks. Their bodies were about as big as your fist and the legs made them the size of a large dinner plate. Now, imagine if they learned to hunt cooperatively in packs. **shivers**
- southpawz, on 10/10/2007, -0/+21Sweet ... the less mosquitoes the better. Spiders >>> Mosquitoes
- LucidHawk, on 10/10/2007, -0/+19Anything that sits there and kills mosquitoes I'm for it, well not if it kills me too but..Mosquitoes are an abomination, we need to kill them all off and any resulting problems it causes with the food chain ***** it.
- CletusJones, on 10/10/2007, -1/+20It would be utterly terrifying.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+19You capitalized Spider and then lowercased web, I don't understand. When you first read it it seems like there is a Giant Spider.

- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+13Actually, there are some species of spiders that do catch small mammels and reptiles.
- physphd, on 10/10/2007, -1/+13Put down your "wand", get off the interent and go outside.

- praisethelard, on 06/06/2008, -0/+11This is why I don't come out of the basement!
- eggo, on 10/10/2007, -0/+10well, they feed spiders, apparently.
but mostly, God put them there because he doesn't like you. - ryogahibiki, on 10/10/2007, -1/+9Awesome way to control mosquitoes.
btw, spiders aren't insects. So the scientists that study them are called arachnologists, not entomologists. - TomP, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8Social Spider Networking.... we need a mash up asap!
- calvmari, on 10/10/2007, -2/+9***** yeah! I can imagine the spiders congregating in a town hall like meeting, and deciding they're at war with the mosquitos. In order to fight the enemy, they must build the biggest web in all of history!
- TheGilmanator, on 10/10/2007, -1/+8You say "DHS" and I think "DHL" and wonder why you're shipping something.
- eggo, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7It's alright, relax and look at this kitten picture:
