  • dacodanelson, on 07/21/2008, -0/+4That's not unusual. Most people also don't realize that alcohol is also a sugar. The cancer is usually caused not by the alcohol being inherently dangerous, but rather because it is acidic and slowly corrodes certain parts of the body (throat, mouth, stomach, liver). The more you need to replace cells the more chance you have to get one that is abnormal, ie. cancerous.

    There are other ways to get cancer from alcohol, but this is apparently the most common with very very heavy drinkers.

    That said, the alcohol industry would never want this info to get out.
