You would what!? Oh please don't leave us hanging like that. You cant just say "If I had a dollar every time..." and not tell us what you would do with the money! - titlesaysitall, on 10/12/2007, -2/+26Same here but with a bat.
- novaneil, on 10/12/2007, -3/+23Zoinks!
- Ricochet1269, on 10/12/2007, -1/+19Why? Because you cannot resist flashing lights either?
- zcreem, on 10/12/2007, -2/+17Can't wait 'till Apple releases the Isopod.
- Hipple, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15You'd think the "prey" would figure out that they need to STAY AWAY FROM THE FLASHING LIGHTS.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1660 bucks or a few gig :)
- directedition, on 10/12/2007, -2/+17I'm pretty when they look at us, they think "I'm a fish. Who gives a ***** what I think."
- iamcool, on 10/12/2007, -2/+14If you enjoy this kind of stuff, I recommend the DVD set, blue planet. Yeah it's 60 bucks and 4 DVDs. But so very very worth it. One of the four DVDs covers nothing but deep sea creatures.
- oddmanout, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13here's a live oarfish hovering http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XbeiVOFqQsc
- mt4055, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12Now that is one ugly SOB!
- abbott75, on 10/12/2007, -6/+16Your village called, they want their idiot back.
- conman16x, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10If I was on a fishing boat and caught a live gulper eels I would scream like a little girl and hide. For some reason those things have always creeped me all the way out.
- moft, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10doesn't do the Vampire Squid justice - check out:

- ayeroxor, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10What?
No Cat Shark?
http://img233.imageshack.us/my.php?image=catsharkrw6.jpg - mccrusc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7I think the extent of their thoughts may be something along the lines of "Should I eat that?" or "Is that going to eat me?"
- PsychoticClown, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Good God. The first one (Viper Fish) looks almost EXACTLY like the Regenerator from Resident Evil 4, bar none the scariest creature in the series for me. Check out the resemblance:

http://www.capcom-central.com/ResidentEvil/ResidentEvil4/images/enemies/regen.jpg - RilDaddy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7very cool pictures.
- jasz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7who needs aliens when you have underwater creepy creatures.
i bet Hollywood will use these in upcoming horror films.. - breynolds88, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7"The vampire squid has the largest eyes of any animal. It is a small animal, growing to a length of about six inches, bit it has globular eyeballs as large as the eyes of a large dog." Hmmmmm
- 0crabby0, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8No Armored Sea Robin - no digg

- m3mn0n, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Was that supposed to be funny? What the hell is that? A Pokemon?
- bebop717, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7Thanks alot guys, don't think I'll sleep tonight with the vision of the Giant Isopod in my head. And the fact my bed frame is broken and I'm sleeping on the floor does not help.
- supercooll, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6I think this one should have been included as well:
http://ohcash.com/2007/02/02/what-you-may-find-in-deep-sea/ - jordanf, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8What? No Jaguar Shark?
- 9teen7ty9, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5cough...
http://www.meganova.org/details/411392.html - GetShorty, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I found some higher resolution pictures and posted them here:
http://forum.alcoholreport.com/t6820/ - Vishap, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Yeah, the writing's terrible, using the same sentence about 20 times (slight exaggeration there). Anyway, take a look at this:
"The vampire squid has the largest eyes of any animal. It is a small animal, growing to a length of about six inches, bit it has globular eyeballs as large as the eyes of a large dog."
Soooo, nothing has eyes larger than those of a large dog? Well whaddaya know, I learned me somethin' in the tubes tuday! - vagrantwade, on 10/12/2007, -5/+9I don't think the Goblin Shark frequents near the depth these creatures do.
I mean if we were just talking about ugly animals in general, then we'd have to put Rosie O'Donnell on the list. - awm4, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I wonder if any of those things taste good?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I wonder how number 4 would taste fried up in a little butter?
- theRed, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3From that article regarding Giant Squid:
"During World War II, stories from the survivors of sunken ships tell of shipmates being eaten by these creatures in the dark of night. There have even been reports of giant squid reaching out of the water and pulling men off small boats. None of these reports have been officially verified, but they paint a picture of a powerful predator"
SWEET!! - apo11o, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6I'd hit it
- m3mn0n, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Notice the "deep sea" part in the title?
It's not creepiest alone... and that thing is hardly creepy.. odd, weird, but not creepy. - joeshlub, on 10/12/2007, -4/+7fortunatly, a good number of those 20,000 users actively use the block button, so at least some of those spammers get banned.
- Fartag, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Yet another proof of evolution.
When nothing can see what they're mating with, then having seriously fugly offspring eventually becomes the norm.
On land, by contrast, where it's bright and relatively clear, you get cute puppies, kittens, squirrels, bears and baby seals.. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4The BBC at its stunning best!
- punwin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Wow, this is definitley the first time I've seen this article on the net, yep, for sure!
- macaddct1984, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Just shows looks don't matter when there's no light for people to see you.
- locotx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3*HomerSimpsonVoice* . . .Mmmmmm . . OR-Fish
- bioskope, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4That Isopod was awesome in 'Starship Troopers'. Thought it deserved an Oscar
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I guess someone's been watching Planet Earth!
Although the deep sea episode of Blue Planet puts it to shame. If you think this is awesome, definitely check that series out. - mandarin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Ok lets go back to reading Go Dog Go shall we?
