    I mean, really, I killed myself more than once confusing my blue link with sonic! Think the sword would make a big difference in how they look...
  • TheHayze, on 04/23/2008, -36/+165Oh look, it's another decent chap who doesn't buy into hyped up games as to provide an honest review of a game. Pity, though, as i'm sure some hardcore Nintendo, or Smash Brawl fan boys are already firing up their hate fueled e-mail machines.

    Don't get me wrong though, I totally dig button smashing in fighting games as a successful way to win a round or three against my mates who are 100 times better then I am.

    Button mashing in Smash Bros, will get you no where. Brawl is much more friendly to those who are new to the franchise, but still it is a complex game that is easy to learn, but hard to master.

    Yahtzee didn't play it for very long, I do agree with his position on playing through all the levels twice, it was sort of annoying. That bottom line is, I understand why he didn't get the intricacies of the game, but when you get down to it, button mashing won't win you a tournament. It's a strategic game, one that takes much more time then I'm sure a reviewer is willing to put into it, which is understandable. I'm actually surprised he didn't bash it any more then he did.

But if that's not true, Yahtzee would be out of a job as then no one would watch/read game reviews to help them to decide what to spend their hard earned cash on. Yes I could go to "normal" game reviewers, like 1Up, or Gametrailers (and I do, mind you,) I enjoy Yahtzee because his reviews usually end up being a lot more honest, and easier to trust then say, oh for example, Game Spot. ;)
