- doskir, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15arrrrrr pirates give themselves the right to do everything they want arrrr
- doskir, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9you can still use xbox live with the 360 right now since its pretty much impossible to detect if you changed the dvd drives firmware you couldnt get online with a modded xbox1
- ispshadow, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Just because you modded your Xbox didn't mean you couldn't buy your games. I bought a handful of Xbox games the other day and not one of them was more than 5.99.
All of mine are legit.. I just wanted my Xbox to do what I told it. Specifically, I wanted XBMC. - sockpuppets, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Mod chips allow unsigned code. As of today no one has successfully run unsigned code on a 360. This device merely allows you easy access to update the firmware of the DVD drive. iT fools the 360 into thinking the disc that's inserted is genuine instead of reporting its a dvdrdl. It's still a little tricky, it took me a few hours to do mine.
- tutivlahos, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Calm down. It's just for backups...
..not - Durrok, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Yes, you can still get on live with this hack. Microsoft will be taking it's efforts into killing this hack this spring by making a hardware change that will be much harder to change (Maybe put the DVD firmware on a ROM chip so you can't flash it) and possibly putting a DVD firmware upgrade on their upcoming popular titles (Halo 3, etc). This will of course be stripped out in the pirated version but should catch some of the hackers. The firmware upgrade may not happen as that is a good way to brick people's 360s who actually paid for them but that has not stopped Microsoft in the past....
- justice7, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I play on Live, and i wouldn't want to chance bricking my console just so i could play a few free games.
considering there is only a few games which i DO play, paying for them isn't a big deal.. plus i get a perdy dvd case, inserts and manuals - DeepFreezed, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2is there any mod that let you play PAL games on NTSC?
there are games that I want to play that are in pal. MS not letting them release in US. - sockpuppets, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Nope.
- WaXmAn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I modded my dvd firmware months ago and I am Still on LIVE with no issues :)
- sockpuppets, on 10/12/2007, -4/+5"This function is used when dual hosts, such as I/O controllers, must access single-port disk drives in high availability storage subsystems where redundancy and load sharing are important."
That right there tells me they're grasping for any excuse as to why this thing has taken forever to release. - JackTheRipper, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1i will be adding one to my box finally :D
- Moebaca, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3So what exactly does this thing do? I am really interested in modding my 360 for emulators so I can play final fantasy 7 and stuff, but are the mod chips really that far along for the 360 yet?
- KosherX, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Which games are you talking about? I don't remember any X360 titles to be released in Europe but not in America.
- raaaaaa, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1considering that games are now 60 bucks and will only go up I can see how this would fuel the need.
- klinsek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Nice, team Xecuter is a solid name. Looks like they put a lot of R/D into this.
Alas, still no homebrew. :( - DimitroffVodka, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I am waiting for them to have a similar Home Brew system similar to the Xbox. I use my old Xbox as a media center. I have tons of Divx files and mp3's loaded on it. It is all networked throughout my house.
- Ace25, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This thing is taking a while to come out though. Had mine pre-ordered since Dec. I just ordered a modchip for my Wii and that is going to be here before the 360 blaster is.
- kriegs, on 10/12/2007, -6/+4But from my understanding (maybe i'm wrong). If you mod your 360, you can't get onto the Live service. Than, what's the point? The main selling point and reason I personally use my 360 is for the Live service.
- SlackerCSB, on 10/12/2007, -23/+7"too" hard
