- Foxhound1979, on 01/15/2009, -12/+70Relax fellas. PS3 gets the demo on Feb 5th. This is the type of ***** that people should get for paying $50 per year for live. First dibs on demos.
- GeorgeStone2, on 01/15/2009, -7/+51After the fast 28 days later zombies of L4D.. I don't know If i'm going to like slow RE zomies any more.
- CrazySpaniard, on 01/15/2009, -12/+55you could get this and play it on an un-modded xbox months ago
http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/4557163/Resident_E ... - Kakumeikeahi, on 01/15/2009, -2/+37January 26th? Awesome!
- readme, on 01/15/2009, -16/+48Change the headline to "People who pay $50 a year for Live get the RE5 demo one week earlier" if you want to be honest about it.
- trdrstv, on 01/15/2009, -1/+30Then you missed out. RE4 is one of the best games of the last generation.
- inactive, on 01/15/2009, -5/+32Why do so many Apple fanboys have a Microsoft console?
- inactive, on 01/15/2009, -1/+27Turn around
- kyle5000, on 01/15/2009, -5/+29I don't believe in fast zombies.
- jabbajabba, on 01/15/2009, -5/+28Yeah I have to agree...L4D upped the ante now.
- bluerei, on 01/15/2009, -2/+23A week-long exclusive makes Sony look bad? Are people that impatient?
- cbabe001, on 01/15/2009, -0/+21Serisouly, who cares? Get over the PS3 vs Xbox *****.
- danwallace, on 01/15/2009, -1/+21It's a demo dude. Nobody cares.
- bluerei, on 01/15/2009, -0/+20I have both systems so for me it doesn't matter but, for those ps3 only owners– is a week that big of a deal? I don't remember demos as being a system-seller. And unless the 360 is getting the full retail game before the PS3, I don't see how an exclusive time-released demo will push more units to their system. Seems like Microsoft wasted money to me. The only reasonable answer to this was to push silver members to upgrade to a gold membership. Maybe that's it.
- kihadat, on 01/15/2009, -2/+19They dig the white.
- Foxhound1979, on 01/15/2009, -2/+18Because there is still money to be made on the PS3. If you knew that you can make $2 million on the 360 why not get another $1 million on the PS3. This game will make money on the PS3 in Japan.
- Madcow17, on 01/15/2009, -1/+14Ditto man. Zombies are meant to shamble and scare the ***** out of you due to sheer numbers and creating a feeling of "There are so ***** many everywhere, its hopeless *blows brains out*" Yet these fast ones, while still pretty cool, don't fit the bill. Dont get me wrong, l4d is AMAZING and i love it to death. Its one of those games i will ALWAYS have and will never be able to convince myself to trade, but i miss me some shamblers. One complaint about L4D though... why dont any zombies crawl after you on the ground? =( Zombies don't need legs to own.
- Claude1971, on 01/15/2009, -0/+13the zombies weren't so slow in RE4 and they are supposed to be much more "active" in RE5. Use the demo to judge
- RegalBegal, on 01/15/2009, -15/+28The funniest part is PS3 owners would pay 50/yr too for a robust online console gaming experience.
- Madcow17, on 01/15/2009, -1/+14Just makes more sense that zombies shamble. I look at l4d as more.. Infected people.. with some ***** up virus. Zombies are dead people reanimated.. when people die rigor mortis (muscles harden) sets in and various other things happen to the body. Doesn't make much sense to me that they arise as olympic runners. Like i said though, i LOVE l4d, amazing game. I just want shamblers.
- Clumber, on 01/15/2009, -1/+12Remember - I don't have to run faster than the zombies... I just have to run faster than you...
(I don't believe in fast zombies either, unless they are falling off a cliff or plastered across the front of a car...) - LawScholar, on 06/25/2009, -16/+26I dunno, Microsoft's cunning "better games and more of them" strategy seems to be enough to beat PS3 so far.
- inactive, on 01/15/2009, -0/+10"You don't have to log out of XBL"
Yes you do, MS blocked the demo so anyone logged in can't use it - reaper527, on 01/15/2009, -0/+1026th? i played it like 3 weeks ago. the demo is awesome
- slicecom, on 01/15/2009, -0/+10Only fanboys care about crap like this.
- OstrakonX, on 01/15/2009, -0/+10People who own a PS3 and a gaming PC and realize paying money for peer-to-peer is stupid when you can have dedicated servers for free.
Only thing I use my 360 for is the occasional real exclusive [read: not also on PC] and the far, far superior XBLA games like Braid and Geometry Wars. - trdrstv, on 01/15/2009, -0/+10your kidding right? There was TONS of flack when it was first announced.
- Foxhound1979, on 01/15/2009, -0/+9because Capcom has already went of their way to say that teh Wii could not even handle the opening CG movie for this game. Wow I can't believe you even asked that!!
- xino, on 01/15/2009, -0/+9You can download the demo from The Pirate Bay and burn it to a CD or DVD. The really neat thing about this is that it works on unmodded X360s. When you finished burning and you put it in the X360, it comes up as a mixed media disc. Then you go to your game library and it will show up with a bunch of Japanese symbols and run it. If you are signed into Live, it says it can't launch the game. Sign out and then you can run it. Then if you stay logged out, it tells you that you have to login and you can do that either online or offline, but it has to be an XBL enabled profile. If you're online when signing in, it will say there is a connection problem and you say ok and then you are still logged into your X360, but not Xbox Live so you can't take advantage of the online co-op unless you're in Japan. I have both a gold and silver account and so I tried it with my silver and neither my X360 or my account has ever been banned from Live. I also read a good amount of gaming news on a regular basis and haven't heard about anyone getting banned outside of Japan for using this demo.
- pe5t1lence, on 01/15/2009, -4/+13I really assume (because of the price) that most PS3 owners are older and hence mature enough to not get bothered over a slightly later DEMO release.
- Foxhound1979, on 01/15/2009, -3/+12WOW dude!! Its a demo. 10 days down the road and you have it for the PS3. Relax!
- Foxhound1979, on 01/15/2009, -1/+10You wasted $400 for pity?? You gave a company $400 out of pity? Sony, a company that has and will have more money than you will ever see in your lifetime. WOW...
FAIL!! - Foxhound1979, on 01/15/2009, -1/+10Its a demo that PS3 owners will get 10 days down the road! 360 owners pay $50 a year for live so they should at least get first dibs on demos.
Besides M$ may have paid Capcom to get the demo first.
If the 360 getting a demo first that the PS3 changes how Sony and the PS3 looks in your eyes then maybe you should get the 360 or the least don't call your self a PS3 fanboy. 10 days after and in the Playstation Network. - scoobyonline200, on 01/15/2009, -6/+14"Xbox 360 Gets Resident Evil 5 Demo First" ........ SO?
- ExSlashdotter, on 01/15/2009, -0/+8You're the one browsing through the GAMING SECTION of a decidedly geek-oriented news website. And you're complaining that there's news of a GAME.
Maybe alex is the one that needs to get a life. - MrBabyManSTFU, on 01/15/2009, -1/+9buy.com has them for $30 and so does walmart.com
- inactive, on 01/15/2009, -0/+8dude, Haze was ***** lame - and I'm a PS3 owner.
- d3c4y, on 01/15/2009, -2/+10I dont know why people are burying you, it seems to be legit (just remember to log out of xbox live)
Thanks anyway :-) - JackSchittt, on 01/15/2009, -1/+9I've used PSN several times, including playing multiplayer.
While XBL is clearly better, PSN is nowhere near as bad as some make it out to be. I am perfectly satisfied with the service, especially considering the price. - kinseyincanada, on 01/15/2009, -0/+8where the hell was there a mention of an Apple product anywhere?
- MRintheKeys, on 01/15/2009, -0/+7Must be a slow day for trolls in the other boards.
- princeofhosts, on 01/15/2009, -3/+10I went to Bic Camera and they gave me the RE5 demo for free for PS3. I dunno what this guy is talking about, I got the demo for PS3.
- RegalBegal, on 01/15/2009, -5/+12Well yes, you do have to pay for LIVE service. Is there a dead horse around that needs kicking?
- Shazbuckle, on 01/15/2009, -0/+7"Remember people, whichever console you have defines what kind of person you are, so you must defend it to the death"
- OstrakonX, on 01/15/2009, -5/+12Man, there are a lot of 360 fanboys on digg today. I guess I'll take the bait. This is coming from someone who owns every console and a decent gaming PC.
The PS3 had by far the better year in 2008 in terms of good exclusives. I got MGS4, Valkyria Chronicles, Disgaea 3, Resistance 2, and LittleBigPlanet, not including multiplatform titles that I can play online for free.
My 360 didn't get nearly as much attention, simply because most of its "exclusives" have PC versions that I feel are superior thanks to being able to use a keyboard/mouse for shooters. The only games worth getting in 2008 for the 360 were Gears 2 (which I heard isn't getting ported to PC like gears 1), Ninja Gaiden 2, and Tales of Vesperia.
And since I own all the consoles and a PC, I can't justify paying 50 bucks a year for peer-to-peer multiplayer. I know it boils down to four bucks a month, but that's still more than I need to pay to get awesome multiplayer.
And 2009 is going to see far more good exclusives for the PS3 than 360. This is practically indisputable: Killzone 2, inFamous, God of War 3, FFXIII - Versus, Heavy Rain, Uncharted 2, Ratchet and Clank Future 2, White Knight Chronicles, Yakuza 3, Quantum Theory, and Massive Action Game.
Seriously, what is the 360 getting in 2009, exclusive-wise? Halo ODST looks nice, but I don't think it'll be very substantive: didn't bungie say it's only going to be one of those 40 dollar games? Only other games I see for next year are Alan Wake, Ninja Blade, Cry On, Star Ocean 4, and ABP.
They might be sitting on something huge, but it looks like it'll be another PS3/PC year for me. - wolfing, on 01/15/2009, -10/+17I don't care about this game, but as a PS3 owner, it does irk me to always see the good news for the 360. I know Microsoft is obviously paying everyone left and right for that, but it'd be nice to see good news swinging the PS3 way once in a while.
I don't regret buying the PS3 over the 360 at all, it is a much better equipment and not really more expensive (once you add to the 360 the $100 or so for the wireless, and $50/year for live), besides being a very good bluray player (which I'm using like almost every day with my Netflix subscription), and I don't turn it on hoping it doesn't show a 'red ring of death', but sheesh Sony, throw us a freaking bone! - bulgingbritches, on 01/15/2009, -3/+10If you want to save a few bucks, Amazon has 12+1 month Gold cards for $38.99 or $3.25 a month.
- ViperX116, on 01/15/2009, -1/+7I wouldn't. That's why I got a PS3.
- shawtanic, on 01/15/2009, -0/+6lol @ bragging about demos
that said, i have a 360 and a ps3 and the 50 bucks a year for live is well worth it, trying to get into a game with your friends is a pain in the ass on the PS3. - sibernetik, on 01/15/2009, -3/+9If it's anything like the last few RE releases then it doesn't bother me one bit
