So much misdirected hate. There are so many corporations that do that these days. So much manufacturing and tech support work is being shipped overseas to China, India, etc. that there's just no possible way to live in the US and not have any devices that are made over there. The computer you used to type that with probably has a ton of Chinese components in them, as well as the PS3 and Wii you may or may not own.
Then again, you may just be trolling and/or ignorant ;p - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10Shenmue 2 is on the list.

360 upscales XBOX games to 720p/1080i/1080p
Wii does no upscaling - crcurran, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11Nice!!! Psychonauts!!
- pidge, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11Still missing the best football game ever....NFL 2K5
- ZenMojo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8"I wonder if people will continue to bitch about backwards compatibility now...."
Interesting way to put it. I deny the validity of the statement, though, since it still lags behind its competitors in backwards compatibility. - BigDan34, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9huh...ok. This afternoon the link brought us to the updated list for december 06 and now the list is back to august 2006....mistake from MS? I still want Shenmue 2 !
- kevinreedy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7That's probably because Sony was using full backwards compatibility as a selling point. On the other hand, we all knew that the 360 would release support for each game via software updates, but maybe not this slowly however. The main difference between the two were the expectations and how they were followed through on.
- chance2002iu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6I want Shenmue 3 to be released/made...whatever. I just want Shenmue 3
- whatthegeek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5if anyone still has the updated list up, please save it and message me!! I'd appreciate it.
- gweedo767, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6@styromaniac: 480i -> 480p isn't upscaling, it simply running in progressive scan but it is technically still the same resolution. Also, the Wii will only run Gamecube games in progressive scan that already supported it. If the Gamecube game has no pro-scan support, it won't magically gain it when played on the Wii.
- MomentDEFINED, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5CounterStrike has already been added a while ago.
- Anrkist, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Sweet.. Buffy the Vampire Slayer! I'm so glad they got that out before one of thier best selling games like Mech Assault.
- BlackKnight6, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4One reason games like Barbie horse adventure-whatever get on the list is because things like this happen:
They get Halo 2 all working, oh guess what, 3 other games now work (including that dumb barbie game) because all the stuff halo 2 does properly in emulation now also were the same methods the other games used.
Another thing people don't realize is that nearly all the old xbox games work with the 360 but have glitches. The ones with glitches aren't on the list and the emulator we get doesn't let us play the game until it is considered bug free by MS.
Hell, the fact the 360 has no previous Xbox 1 chips in it (due to IP issues), upscales to any resolution AND adds 4xAA (a benefit of emulating) is pretty damn cool. I just play Halo 1/2 right now. I am holding onto Wreckless because I still think that was the best looking xbox game ever made (it actually had HDR). Check the damn screens, real time reflections on the car, real time shadows, specular lighting, real HDR with great HDR effects like after-image(not bloom like in splinter cell or Halo 2), exhaust heat effect (hot air that blurs) Depth of Field....just amazing:

And none of this really does the game justice, need to see it actually being played (or with 4x AA upscaled whenever this get this gfx powerhouse certified!) - etx313, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5pwnt

and all 98% look like crap: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IoCD9TwLrVs - styromaniac, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6"360 upscales XBOX games to 720p/1080i/1080p
Wii does no upscaling"
Actually, it does. If you use Wii component cables then it upscales the dispaly type of GCN games from 480i to 480p. Not an extremely dramatic difference, but it's still much better than 480i. - dan4prez, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5I loved all of the NFL 2k series. I thought they were way better than madden.
- Wootery, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4"Its interesting they decide that the other version of Splinter Cell is worth the effort to make backwards compatible.", why?
They'd already got Chaos Theory working - I don't think there's much new technology in Double Agent (the Xbox 1 version, at least).
They say the only things that affect whether they're going to bother getting a specific game to work are
1 : Demand
2 : Work required
This isn't really a violation of that. - ericeman, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Psychonauts, finally! I am at the last level in that game and have yet to beat it... this will probably prompt me to finish it. Awesome news.
- Lungkisser, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4I feel that Microsoft should have focused on making all the "Only on Xbox" games backwards compatible, since they're only on Xbox, and a lot of us traded our Xboxs in to get the 360. Games like Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath and Unreal Championship 2.
- MomentDEFINED, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3That's what I said! I really want to play it since that's definitely one of the better games on Xbox, not to mention it's a platinum hit! You think they would have done something about it by now!
- graizur, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I wonder how hard it's going to be to find Psychonauts now. I am going to go check out the ebay listings and see if they get higher. I hope that more people buy Psychonauts now. It really desrves to become an underground hit and some how fund it's own sequel.
BOOHOO I miss that game. It's one of theose games I wish was episodic so it would never end. - MikeEnIke, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5The wii upscales virtual console games, so said a digg article not to long ago.
- mattcoady, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Now if they could only go back and add achievements :P
- NYC10004, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Shenmue 2. Finally! I've been waiting to play that for the 7th time.
Just picked up Psychonauts at lunch.
- Brutal, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4WTF? Still no compability for Chronicles of Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay ?!
- kevinreedy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I think I am more excited about the addition of Indigo Prophecy (called Fahrenheit outside of the US). I remember them mentioning that XBox titles may support higher resolutions and possibly wide-screen while running on the 360. Is this still the case? Indigo Prophecy was very cinematic, and would be great to see in HD.
- tskrilla, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4NFL 2K5 Screw Madden
- colincattral, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Well this has largely been the case, maybe someone can explain why PGR2 is still not compatible with 360 even though PGR3 has been out since launch and PGR4 is on it's way.
- NYC10004, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2A friend of mine actually was responsible for busting his own 360. We think MS knew when they got it that something was suspicious, but they fixed it anyway. So can't complain really. MS is going above and beyond the call of duty to make good. Even when its obvious the damage is not their fault.
- LuCiFer6, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I'm still hanging on to my copy, hoping that M$ will add it to the list.
- opus20745, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Looks like the "fixed" that link now too.
- envy860, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4I wonder if people will continue to bitch about backwards compatibility now.... it seemed like the main complaint was "Why isn't psyconauts on the list?". I don't think that every single game needs to be backwards compatible (still have an original xbox if the need arises), because there are some games that it isn't worth makign compatible... but it is nice that they are continuing to add more and more to that list as time goes on.
- styromaniac, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Jeese, angry retards are no fun. You obviously didn't know Microsoft repairs or replaces 360's absolutely free no matter if the warranty is out for their fatal errors. Also, the issue with the backward compatibility is that Microsoft didn't own the hardware in the first XBOXs, so they have to emulate that system through codes for its games.
- martin993, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Damn it. I've been dying to play The Warriors game for bloody ages. Oh, well.
- backwords, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Rallisport Challenge 2 is what ive been waiting for! and still no NFL 2k5? are they even going to mess with EA's football monopoly. i want new Rosters and an actual Fatigue patch damnit.

- Blizaine, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1no Path of Neo! it's a travesty....
- THEMACGOD, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Indigo Prophecy doesn't work... I went to Blockbuster and rented it (off my gamepass) and it says that it is not backwards compatible. DOH.
- ELCid, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yeah, where is Conker?
It was created by their own studio, they've got access to source code, what gives? - NYC10004, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Funny. Wasn't expecting that.
- spoozer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Incredibles doesn't work. It used to about three months ago when I bought the game specifically because it was on Xbox's website as being backwards compatible. Then it went off and I called. They said "sorry". Now its back on by my boy just threw it is and alas it doesn't work.
- blackhole82, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Still no Chronicle of Riddick. I guess I'll wait another 4 months just for the chance of being able to play it. It was a Christmas present last year, and I still haven't played it due to the backwards compatibility.
