- doncarajo, on 10/12/2007, -9/+47Pft. You own a PSP.
- coheedcollapse, on 10/12/2007, -1/+19Hopefully we'll only have to use these web portals for a few more weeks. I can't remember the exact date but I know the "Full Version" of the Opera browser is slated to come out by the end of March. Hopefully that'll include all the little goodies that I've been hoping for (Tabs, totally full screen browsing, gestures etc).
- kkaabboomm, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12has the look of a wii channel, yet inside opera. clever display of tabs, too. autoloading of multiple tabs...all in all a good 'homepage' to have for the wii.
- unicronband, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12Wiinough of these wiidiculous headlines!
- harikaried, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8But there are some [security] limitations to the javascript. The tab names can't change if you move to another page because it'll be a different domain from wiiminder.com.
Other than that, it works pretty well, even in Firefox. Opera/9.00 (Nintendo Wii) - JeremiahLBurns, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Very intuitive video...shows off the capabilities very well!
- stungunjones, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Does this mean we'll have a better version of Flash? Maybe we'll have some Wii-specific add-ons, too.
- MystaWright, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5http://www.wiiminder.com/
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4How can I see this in Firefox with the User Agent Switcher extension?
- miggz06, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I luvs da Homestar!
- burnzy3210, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4this is pretty cool but I wouldnt use it as it makes the actual browsing space smaller than it already is
- sKiLLa182, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3While tabbed browsing on the Wii is certainly not a new concept, this site is by far the best one implementing them. I also like the integrated search and how you can drag & drop the tabs to organize them.
I'm excited to see what else Warp Pipe has in store for us in the future. - howie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Adobe only offers Flash 7 for devices, so there's nothing Opera or Nintendo can do to get newer versions ported.
- Azimuth1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The video clearly shows that the interface only appears when you hover at the top of the screen.
- howie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2What is a "Flash driver"?
- b3mus3d, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3The user agent I use (seems to work) is Opera/9.00 (Nintendo Wii; U; ; 1038-58; Wii Shop Channel/1.0; en) - it seems to work just fine
Seriously though, just ***** google it
*rolls eyes* - Holo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I'm not sure if you guys are experiencing the same thing, but when I go to certain sites, (amazon.com seems to be one) I can only navigate for a certain amount of time before Wiiminder resets and opens as if it was the first time I surfed there... anyone else having this issue?
- theboozer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Yeah, what's up with a Flash driver on the Wii?
- ChadPaulson, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3There is only so much the trial version of the Internet Channel can handle in terms of page load, javascript execution, cache stored, etc. The resetting you are experiencing is Opera crashing and resetting itself. This mainly happens when the cache is full. You can reproduce this by going to a traditional HTTP streaming site, after awhile the browser will crash. Let's hope the final version of the Internet Channel is substantial.
- jnpeacoc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Does digg freeze up anyone else's Wii? I put it as a Wiiminder channel, and now it freezes every time I go to Wiiminder :(
- thund3rbox, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1to Nitro187: Feel free to come up with a better plug then...
- DoctorSetebos, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I experienced this using wiiminder last night. After surfing a few websites for a couple hours using it, I've found it to be pretty much unusable. It resets periodically, losing all my open tabs. On some sites I can't scroll down the page -- it just throws me automatically back to the top when I even try. There were quite a few times when the auto-hide didn't work, either, and those grey navigation bars take up a lot of real estate when they don't disappear.
An 'A' for effort, Warp Pipe guys, but wiiminder is not ready for prime time. I'll definitely check out version 2.0, though. - odseraphim, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1no clue here..
I haven't seen any WiiToobs of people flashing while driving.. - Nitro187, on 10/12/2007, -4/+4Warppipe a company to watch!? What a lame plug that was.
- JBCougar, on 10/12/2007, -9/+8How does tabbed browsing help a paperweight?
- Shorties, on 10/12/2007, -17/+15Your compairing the PSP browser to the Wii Opera Browser? That's like comparing God to the Flying Spaghetti Monster, God just can't compete.
- kirayamato, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0Ahuh, that's really awesome, I was looking for more sweet applications for my Wii too!
- se1zure, on 10/12/2007, -6/+3The wii browser is completely garbage. I spent 15 mintues trying to figure out how to hide. the bottom bar, but since Nintendo/opera cna't design worth ***** they made it so you can't hide it.. how retarded is that. It is nothing like the ps3's browser (full version of firefox).
- se1zure, on 10/12/2007, -7/+2THe ps3 as supported tabbed browsing from the start too.
Along with all of the firefox extensions, addons, themes.... - thund3rbox, on 10/12/2007, -14/+8I like this. Creative use of javascript/css to enhance browsing for wii. Warp Pipe is a company to watch, for sure.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -26/+5Im sick of all these words and phrases incorporating "Wii" into itself... one that is really bugging me is Wii Browsing, whenever i think that phrase it sounds like a Kiwi saying web-browsing... Hate It
Sorry, if you are not Aussie, you most likely wont understand the second half of all that. - bergur1, on 10/12/2007, -44/+6Pft. The PSP has tabbed browsing from the start.
