- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16I have computer hacking skills and bo staff skills..
- m0laria, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11Hi! Yes, I am going to contact you through digg comments to join my open source software project!
- asdfrewq, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8The same reason it was necessary for us to put a man on the moon... Because we can.
Oh, and to show those stupid Soviets who's boss. - mikelikespie, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9Wow. 1337 skillz for sure.
- TheG2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5They have the basis of a driver and a pretty good idea of how to send and recieve input/output from the remote...read the wiki sir.
- SineNomen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Also, the idea of making games for the Wii is very enticing. Like the guys above said, if they can get OpenGL and SDL on it, with a good Wiimote driver, then they'd essentially turn the Wii into the most amazing homebrew game system ever.
- RandomInsano, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7I don't think many people will even consider looking at Wiili until the crack team of Wiimote hackers come up with their linux driver. Once that happens and it gets dugg, expect one hell of a flood.
- mikeazorin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4It doesn't work.
- ydt89, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Read the FAQ English isn't his first language.
- lordkenthegreat, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2It's down. :(
- lordkenthegreat, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2They scammed the community. Wiili.org is now a blank website. According to whois records, wiili.org is hosted by Dreamhost with private registration. Maybe someone at Dreamhost can uncover the identity of these scammers. :)
- marcan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Here's some youtube on it :P
http://youtube.com/watch?v=9iBaKsh5z_o - marcan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Working on it, working on it! It wiill come soon :)
Accelerometers working, buttons working, LEDs working, speaker inminent, and hopefully pointer close too! - TheG2, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2This site is obviously being run off of a home box, because everytime it's mentioned here, it gets nailed in a second, and other times, its still slow as dirt.
- RandomInsano, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@mikekol: Why do puzzels? Why play video games? Porting Linux is a fun hobby for most, not a necessity. Stop being an ass about it.
- steban, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1They are actually raising funds to move to a dedicated server.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1You underestimate the power of Linux! I find your lack of faith disturbing.
- scratched, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It is a joy for many linux geeks (myself included) to be able to say their operating system (even though it's technically only the kernel) can run on anything.
I look forward to seeing this project completed and hopefully contributing something to the project myself if I can... - bracersofint, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2wii pwnz0red my last week and amazingly continues; how cool would it be to pretty much have it also be a linux box for $249? i think that's the point.
- RandomInsano, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2@TheG2: I have been reading the wiki j00! *shakefist* ...Everyday... I've got now life :)
Alls I'm saying is that when the driver is complete, lots of people will be happy. Didn't know this story would make it to the homepage. Looks like I was wrong, and I'm happy for it :) - pile0nades, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Because they can.
- c0rdawg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Never mind... I'm a moron...
- soren121, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0wii is not gay! anyway, sorry people, the site is down because it's been slammed by the digg community. and wii is way better than gamecube. wii will win!
- c0rdawg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0A Scam? Haha Hardly, if you look at google's cache you see this... I'm sure they're still in the process of updating their server...
"too much load on the server... :( we will be back soon. You can visit LiquidIce webpage untill we get back: http://wiihacks.blogspot.com :Tuxido
Update: Our current host is triying to help us by upgrading our server. We apreciate their effort, and we hope they are also part of this sucess.
Some video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=asY_I8y6C0M" - mikekol, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3Then buy a 486. You can get that for less than $249 and it'll run Linux.
- mikekol, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2:: Forgot to reply to my own comment. I'm an idiot ::
- FrozenIpaq, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1The Wii does not read standard DVD's or CD's...they don't even know how to do this, so why is everyone giving them support for something that is impossible?
- Ltgeo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Yeh but those developers are to blame for Microsoft products :S
- pile0nades, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2delete..
- Crass22, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1I'll be keeping my eye out for that.
- yokken, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Stop going to the site, damnit, Digg! I can't even surf the forums there's so much traffic!
- PsyQ, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0None of that has anything to do with language skills, those are all factual errors. It would be equally wrong in Greek or Farsi.
- mikekol, on 10/12/2007, -6/+4I really don't understand this. Why is it necessary to put Linux on everything? Will this really make any sort of difference whatsoever?
- shid, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1well i mean u will never get noticed unless u put your name out there somewhere weither it be Dugg.com or through notarized mail its all worth a shot, hey you never know who will see it
- bracersofint, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1is WiiLi feasible? it seems as though this is an attempt to recruit more skilled programmers than the hopeful individual who devised the plan. I'm super interested though.
- deathhand, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0well I am right here, sitting in my chair watching Beauty and the Geek.
- PsyQ, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1One thing they're not too concerned about it accuracy. They misspell their own project's name several times, especially in the FAQ. They called MAME a "console emulator" (that's MESS, MAME is for arcade games), they call Linux an "open-source OS" and focus heavily on how it comes free of charge.
It all leaves a bad aftertaste. Let's hope they'll get a few new members that fix these things. - radu79, on 10/12/2007, -6/+2If they manage to get a hardware accelerated OpenGL implementation, and include SDL, I have the perfect solution for them.
- TechTirade, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1This Gorilla should be their logo. Gorilla McCool. "I went bananas for the Nintendo Wii"
http://digg.com/gaming_news/Gorilla_selling_a_Wii_Clever_stradegy_Gorrilla_McCool - un1on, on 10/12/2007, -5/+0Wii is gay!
gamecube is better then Wii.. I see no fun in Wii.. just stand up and move your hands.. another DDR? but with hands! H.M.R!! - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -5/+0So hire some! Cheap asses... Spend a few bucks and get adds.
- calvinosaurus, on 10/12/2007, -8/+3You know, like nunchuck skills, bowhunting skills, computer hacking skills... Girls only want boyfriends who have great skills.
/napolean - squeaker, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1Yes, you are. You stupid fat ***** babyeating swine.
- OpCzar, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1I for one welcome our wii linux equipped Overlords, granting the wish of multi arcade emulators for all and for nothing.
- bergur1, on 10/12/2007, -8/+2http://duggmirror.com/
doesnt work - m0laria, on 10/12/2007, -10/+1http://www.digg.com
- skilless, on 10/12/2007, -18/+5Nowhere on the linked page is a call for help. If you want designers or programmers perhaps you should link directly to a page calling for exactly that.
- sirmonster, on 10/12/2007, -18/+0Can't for this project to reach some form of completion >.
- shid, on 10/12/2007, -30/+1Hey i am pretty skilled in photoshop and premiere pro. I know HTML and some PHP i can get right on that though to help the cause. Just let me know i have all the resources and would be honnored to help advance this project!
