I've tried to tell some of the people I know who play COD4 that if they ever had to play xbox vs PC, a mouse would cause massive butthurt to the console side. If you want to count the Apple II as the first PC, that was released in 1977. If you want to count the Altair 8800, that was released in 1974. And while I like steam and think it's great, it's actually just a play to net Valve more money.
For example, Left 4 Dead is priced at $39.99 both on Steam and in stores. If I buy L4D in a store, some of that $40 goes towards the store, while some goes to Valve. If i buy it on Steam, ALL of the money goes to Valve.
Not knocking steam or anything, just pointing that out. Valve also occasionally gives us "free game' days for things like Unreal, TF2 and L4D, so I guess it evens out in the end. - DoShurikn, on 07/10/2009, -0/+18wii/xbox360: It better be considering that your PC is at least 3 times more expensive.

They don't make games FOR consoles, it's just that some of their games get ported. They are all completely inferior to the PC versions, because that's what Valve designs for. - Taiyoryu, on 07/10/2009, -0/+17It would certainly help with space and cable managment.
