- spyrochaete, on 10/12/2007, -10/+19Does that work like the Konami code?
*****, *****, piss, piss, shake, shake, shake, shake, left cheek, right cheek, wipe - Innagadadavida, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7That man is awkward.
- NikoKun, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6hmmm... Lets all work on finding the KK song in WiiSports!
- krellor, on 10/12/2007, -5/+9Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /2006/12/12/gaming-archaeology-totakas-song-part-3/ on this server.
Damn, that really is one hard to get to song. - Otto, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4More information about the "K.K. Song" here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kazumi_Totaka
- Justin6512, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Has anyone found this song in any of the Wii Games? Cuz that would be cool.
- Otto, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Also, see here for part 1 of this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eLMAgcGA8Dw

It's not old news. This is the third article about it from the site. The secret Totaka song was first documented some time ago, then a follow up was released after it had gotten some publicity and the song was found in more games. Now, another follow up has been released which includes games like Luigi's Mansion. - falcon707, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Their favicon (Powet.tv) was stolen from the Halo 2 Sticky Gernade medal!!!
Here's Proof: http://www.bungie.net/images/Games/Halo2/Medals/stickit.gif - Artican, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3This -is- pretty friggen awesome. I wonder if Totaka will start to try hiding it better once he finds out we're on to him. Or maybe he'll just go "Wow, my secret's out... but they have a long way to go to find all of em." and laugh. Wonder how many copycats will happen now...
Anyway, if anyone's looking for more songs, here's a bit of a tip. In every game where the tune has come up so far, there's often a bit of time waiting in a non-action-heavy screen. Something where the user can just watch and choose to proceed at their own leisure (makes sense - wouldn't want to throw it somewhere that requires waiting roughly 4 minutes when the level only gives you 3 minutes to complete, for example).
Now that I think about it, isn't Zelda the only game where it's actually in-game where the tune showes up? (Granted, those frogs aren't going to kill you, but still).
There probably really isn't a given formula for you to follow to find the songs, but this is the pattern I noticed. Probably why people can find them too. Oh well. Happy hunting to all. Me? I'm gonna go check some game manuals of mine to see if he directed the music there too. It'll give me something to do when I'm bored. Ciao! - RolltheStampede, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2HAs anyone tried making a MII named Totaka or K.K. Song or something and maybe it will trigger when you play Wii Sports

- GoatJuggler, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Everything mentioned so far has been mentioned at the Nintendo DB. Even some of the finer details, like submitter names, etc. Lacks the Luigi Mansion one, but everything else is almost verbatim. Hope it's the same guy in the video, otherwise he's clueless.
http://nindb.classicgaming.gamespy.com/totaka.shtml - wxjunkie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2and the lockers???
- JudgeMonkey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I gotta say, i had never heard of this secret before. I had done the K.K. Song thing in AC but when all I heard was a silly and kinda lame song that I didn't know had such a legacy I shrugged it off as "Whatever.". I haven't played a lot of these games. I usually play wii sports at least once a day for my fitness age. Seems like either the press A to continue or more likely the results screens are good candidates for this, or maybe waiting to roll the bowing ball, or serve a tennis ball, or do the A & B simultaneously confirmation or.... ugh, so many places to just wait.
- ulotrichous, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1OK, this is totally awesome. I had heard the song in the Yoshi's Story level select and wondered what the heck it was. Now I'm going to have to waste time sitting on every pause screen I can find...
What a cool secret. Great post. - PhilBond, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yes, Mark Kelly of the Nintendo Database has been working with me on this. Everything in the first video is the direct result of his research.
- mikekol, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The credits for the first video list NintenDB (or something similar).
- Shipley, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2The server isn't quite "crappy" just ill equipped to handle this many people at once. dozens of videos this year and none have come close to Totaka (though a short subject on ROB is respectable as well).
now our customer service thats allowed this to go on for over 5 hours... thats crappy. - ericeman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I had heard that in two of the games listed but never really correlated the two... this is actually really cool.
- DelMonte, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1For fans of Totaka, you can see him perform a Yoshi Story song on the vibraphone in this video:

Look for it at around 37:50. (You can see it get up on stage at 35:40) - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Are there any FREEWARE MIDI composers that I can use?
- Shipley, on 10/12/2007, -6/+6its not a personal blog. the video makers are the site's staff. which is to say me and my friends.
hey, thanks for crashing our site, Digg! I feel a great sense of accomplishment now. - Shipley, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1perhaps the silly nature of the video series is lost on someone who's only watched the last installment.

- meshgiath, on 10/12/2007, -12/+2PiratedTVPro:
It's old news because, well, this song has been in Nintendo games for over a decade, and there has been a recent surge in interest in it including a front page digg 58 days ago:
http://digg.com/gaming_news/Secret_song_in_Nintendo_titles - DrakeGTA, on 10/12/2007, -19/+1Does it sound a lot like "Another one bites the dust" to anyone but me?
- steven401, on 10/12/2007, -21/+0How's this secret? Go to the control configuration settings and go for a toilet break and come back listening to that music - nothing out of the ordinary.
