- Apeezee, on 05/23/2008, -1/+118I personally can't wait for this game. The technology behind it is amazing. I believe that this is going to be a big hit, as was The Sims. The scope of this game is incredible. When you break it down, it really is multiple full-featured games, in one box.
- ocellnuri, on 05/23/2008, -4/+87Wait... you mean games might change during development? Especially when the first videos were early betas??
- lordewoks, on 05/23/2008, -1/+83This game totally takes a concept like "Black & White" and brings it to a whole new awe-inspiring level! I can't wait.
- inactive, on 05/23/2008, -11/+87That gave me a boner!
- DeFex, on 05/23/2008, -3/+67This game ought to be popular with the creationists
- DarthDaddy, on 05/23/2008, -13/+63Didn't the game look a lot different than the older videos out already? Even the character creation screen looked way different.
- JanYpe, on 05/23/2008, -3/+49Well what the hell kind of feedback do you want? Page long diatribes? Seems to me that smiles and frowns convey the basic message well enough.
- JanYpe, on 05/23/2008, -2/+43Good god, alert the press!
- KingGorilla, on 05/23/2008, -0/+38Composed of matter, anti-matter and it doesn't matter
- Persian5Life, on 05/23/2008, -7/+42the second EA game that i will actually buy and not bittorent.usually EA games suck ass.

Man, do I ever love Sim City... - MoralThreat, on 05/23/2008, -2/+32"spore looks worse and worse with every video they release"
Your name is Poopsalad. That's really all I have to say. - Borgcube636, on 05/23/2008, -2/+31Proof that PC gaming is far from dead
- alperea, on 05/23/2008, -1/+25They can just make a different version, or a "god cheat" where you magically start out human, and there is only one planet, and it's the center of the universe, which is only 5,000 years old.
- JBobtheGr8, on 05/23/2008, -7/+31"So it has butts for eyes?" "He poops to see."
- Digscuttle, on 05/23/2008, -0/+20I'm so excited about this game, I'm rather afraid. It's hard not to be let down when your hopes are so high.
I'm all over the Creature Creator, which comes out in just a few weeks!
At least I've finally moved on from Molyneux games, Wright is catching me on the rebound though. :) - slaverynin, on 05/23/2008, -3/+23This game looks amazing and hopefully it'll live up to any and all hype it gets.
- Disregard, on 05/23/2008, -9/+28I wish it was 2014 already.
- judicar, on 05/23/2008, -2/+19Yeah some point after Robin Williams demo'ed it they changed the target demographic from 18+ to tweens.
- aserer511, on 05/23/2008, -2/+17LO i love the sign behind him; "Composed of anti-matter and doesn't matter!"
- inactive, on 05/23/2008, -0/+15Yeah, they need to go back to the original style, like in Will Wright's first demo of the game, where he made a Care Bear creature. That was so hardcore.
- Gryffydd, on 05/23/2008, -1/+16Anyone else think this guy has Anton Chigurh hair?
- PhoenixAvatar2, on 05/23/2008, -1/+15September 19th.
- Nollykin, on 05/24/2008, -0/+14Why do creationists always try to "prove" their theory by trying to "disprove" evolution? That doesn't make your theory any more or less valid.
And bananas weren't originally curved before they evolved that way. Nor did they have the little tab that god conveniently placed there. - jonathantneal, on 05/23/2008, -0/+14Good press, alert God! This game is evolving, through intelligent design, and that's, that's. just. not. okay. Pick a side, Will Wright!
- leerayIG88, on 05/23/2008, -0/+13I can't wait to be a god.
- Raptor007, on 05/23/2008, -1/+14Yeah, I noticed that! I was thinking "Why is this music so familiar?" and then I realized "Hey! They ripped it off of SimCity4! Oh wait... Maxis is allowed."
- Thoric, on 05/23/2008, -5/+17Dear lord, when is that coming out? They've been postponing it for ages, and it seems that on every new promo video they release, the game changes drastically... I actually fear for the end result
- Chronoped, on 05/23/2008, -0/+12OH, VIDEO, WHY MUST YOU TORMENT ME SO?
I am dying to get my hands on this game... I've wanted a game like this since I was six, now the wait is unbearable...!!! - bjornski, on 05/23/2008, -0/+12The game is fiction.
Just like the Bible. - ZeNiTH456, on 05/23/2008, -4/+16It's completely different now.. Looks are cartoon-ish. I liked the older style much much more.
- jeremymccurdy, on 05/23/2008, -2/+14Will Wright, like Peter Molyneux except he actually makes the fantastic games he talks about.
- 2Bnor2B, on 05/23/2008, -0/+12I just hope that EA does not treat the Spore franchise like Sims. I do not want to pay for multiple expansion/accessory packages so my creatures can have pets, vacations or better parties.
Otherwise, it looks truly awesome. - DeFex, on 05/24/2008, -1/+13http://ottergoose.net/imgs/family_guy_average_reta ...
- 1Bad, on 05/23/2008, -0/+10Jason Shankel a lead developer on Spore, has talked at my school a number of times. Talking with him for awhile, he revealed that Spore was originally an evolution game, in which evolution occured randomly, semi-dependent on how the creature was being played. The player had very little control on how exactly his creation would evolve, thus although it was cool, the player was not given enough control. The idea for Spore originated from a book, which I dont have the name of right now, which talks about the conditions necessary for life to begin and sustain itself. There are many models loosely based on science used for various aspects of Spore. Things like atmosphere and clouds are based off a demo created to demonstrate the forming of nebula and stars. Things like the science of flocking were explored based on this algorithm http://www.red3d.com/cwr/boids/ . Most of the in-game systems were approximations of reality as most graphics is focused on.
- m0laria, on 05/24/2008, -1/+11Except that you're hacked CD key won't get you access to the online content, GL with that. I torrent games but this is one I'll be buying.
- WolfDV, on 05/23/2008, -1/+10cute cartoony animated creatures gave you a boner?
so to you .. the best porn = pixar movies - da_bradler, on 05/24/2008, -0/+9I find it funny that religious people get offended when you refer to spontaneous creation of advanced forms of a life as magic.
Face it you believe in a god with magic powers and his zombie son. - bjornski, on 05/23/2008, -0/+8And we all know how badly that worked out for Mario...
- mccake, on 05/24/2008, -0/+8That's how the Matrix started.
- dsmx, on 05/23/2008, -1/+8Only idiots say PC gaming is dead, as long as people use PC's PC gaming will always exist.
- Raptor007, on 05/23/2008, -0/+7Wolfofwar is right in a way. Rather than pure evolution, where random mutations which will either fail or succeed, this leaves it to the player to CHOOSE the evolutions. So yes, basically that's intelligent design.
But that doesn't mean they're promoting intelligent design as the way REAL life evolved. - im2emo4myshrt, on 05/23/2008, -10/+17Seriously, who would use such childish means of conveying like or dislike? What type of pre-adolescent mindset would create such a primitive and ineffective rating system? Sir, I could not agree more, thumbs up to you.
- IDiggDrSiN, on 05/23/2008, -0/+6What fable was meant to be was going to be even better though.
- MasterGrief, on 05/24/2008, -0/+6It's too bad the latest iteration of the series was so lacking.
- ShootTheCore, on 05/24/2008, -0/+6"I like the game play idea they have come up with" LOL
If that is a "game play idea" do they have to give a development credit to Charles Darwin? - inactive, on 05/23/2008, -1/+7Some people have actually buried this for some reason...
- veijeri, on 05/23/2008, -1/+7More like it conveniently avoids the debate by having life come from another form of life rather than the divine (organisms trapped in a comet), and you evolve it form there.
