- KittySpark1es, on 04/27/2009, -2/+316Who ever did this should get a raise or promotion. You just managed to make hundreds of thousands of geeks to visit a sports website.
- GThrift, on 04/27/2009, -2/+218Google cache still has it

- Raptor007, on 04/27/2009, -3/+110Holy crap it works! YAY PONIES!!
- ezalis, on 04/27/2009, -2/+93That's just 10 kinds of awesome.
- reiggin, on 04/28/2009, -0/+79Because it takes unicorns and rainbows to get us into sports.

- a3r0, on 04/28/2009, -3/+64OMG!!! PONIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- chookalana, on 04/28/2009, -3/+61It's on Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DuGubWnjiPA
- reiggin, on 04/28/2009, -1/+57You don't honestly think a developer implements this and DOESN'T tell every buddy and acquaintance since pre-school just what he did? Hell, it was probably "twatted" to the masses as well.
- mhuggins, on 04/28/2009, -1/+54Doesn't seem to be working...

"Dear internet, I didn't add the code or make the decision to take the unicorns off ESPN.com. Don't shoot the messenger. kthxbye" - beardmaster, on 04/28/2009, -2/+42http://www.cornify.com/
You can cornify any page to spread the magic! - mrjit, on 04/28/2009, -3/+39God damned slow Digg, way to get this awesome news to the front page while it worked.
- senatorkevin, on 04/27/2009, -1/+36I think the developers job is going back back back.... GONE!
- hooges, on 04/28/2009, -0/+30Here is the guy that wrote the code that ESPN used. You can also do it on his site since you can't do it on ESPN anymore.
http://paulirish.com/2009/cornify-easter-egg-with- ... - AquaOSX, on 04/28/2009, -7/+31If this was a planned viral marketing piece.... sure.
If not... someone is getting canned. That's a big site, and they treat that thing like a piece of desktop software. People check in their code, there are controls site releases, etc.
This is funny, but it's probably not something that QA looked at or other developers know about. This could've been something that caused a conflict, resulted in downtime, and resulted in lost money.
Easter eggs are fun, but they are also a risk for the business. - muddhb, on 04/28/2009, -0/+21Removing the code is stupid, don't they realize how much traffic this is driving?
- bdfariello, on 04/28/2009, -0/+21Explaining why Rainbow Road was one of the best parks in all of Mario Kart.
- dcorona1, on 04/28/2009, -2/+23Why so serious?
- raydeen, on 04/28/2009, -2/+22I'm going to be trying IDDQD and IDSPISPOPD on every webpage I hit now. Those have to be the second most famous cheatcodes out there.
- Sarin42, on 04/28/2009, -4/+24If you still want to see it on ESPN, it's up here: http://games.espn.go.com/poker/index
- HandsOfNod, on 04/28/2009, -0/+19You don't have to, but every time you do another unicorn or rainbow pops up.
- desirecomplex, on 04/28/2009, -0/+18Unicorn Your Site

- PensiveGoat, on 04/28/2009, -2/+19The great thing about this is that it sounds like one of those fake video game cheats we heard as kids (Aerith lives, there is a magical world beyond the flag in Mario, etc.)... but it's real!
Of course the downside of this is you won't be able to convince anyone it's real... - iamnobody8614, on 04/28/2009, -0/+16and do it again if you want them all to collapse.
- KittySpark1es, on 04/28/2009, -2/+17I see your point your are making, I work in game development.
Regardless it's still awesome. - Optimaximal, on 04/28/2009, -1/+16I'd hazard a guess that the Google Cache has caught up with the live site.
- yelow, on 04/28/2009, -0/+15mind = blown

- kevro, on 04/28/2009, -0/+13Wow, are they every dumb for removing that since it doesn't affect normal visitors yet people in the know will come to try it and probably start reading there stories. lame.
- TheKitchenSinkX, on 04/28/2009, -2/+15Should be noted that you don't actually have to press Enter.
^ ^ v v < > < > B A works fine. - cowbilly, on 04/28/2009, -1/+14I missed the fun :(
- Astark, on 04/28/2009, -3/+16How the hell did someone figure this out?
- ProfessorLX, on 04/28/2009, -2/+14Zeigy:
IDKFA = its the all keys and weapons and ammo in Doom
IDDQD = god mode in doom
IDSPISPOPD = no clipping (in doom 1 only) - Jhonka, on 04/28/2009, -0/+12eh seems to be off now.
- plainOldFool, on 04/28/2009, -0/+12Wow, that's as cool as the other side of the pillow!
- Speedy7, on 04/28/2009, -4/+16TBH, we don't really care about the unicorns (maybe *some* do), but the fact that it's linked in with the konami code makes it awesome.
- ManUnitdFan, on 04/28/2009, -0/+11Because some child might stumble across My Little Ponies on ESPN and be scarred forever?
- ransomduke, on 04/28/2009, -1/+12IDCLIP
- Inverno, on 04/28/2009, -0/+10espn.com just got a billion hits
- TexasMd91, on 04/28/2009, -0/+10Then link to the video page.... not the obvious digg dupe that YOU are trying to make successful. Buried.
- raydeen, on 04/28/2009, -0/+9Somebody wasn't happy with his job anymore. Kudos though. Sports needed more rainbows and unicorns. It's been awfully boring lately. Now if only they would do this on the Fox News website....
- Poochyfud, on 04/28/2009, -1/+10Most of the NBA playoff pages still work. Try this:
