The scribble and "see me!" note at the bottom was a hilarious twist, revealing the teacher as a fanboy and strongly disagreeing.

I don't think i have played the system for more then 48 hours. I bought it on the day it was released. Now, I gave it to my lil cousin, trying to recoup my loss. Hopefully she will enjoy it. (if she does, ill still buy games!)
My lovely dreamcast. I am sure iv spent more time playing a game 4 way split screen on it then the total amount of time iv spent playing the wii in my life.
I just think that graphics != game play, but that doesn't mean that good games don't have good graphics. There are plenty of games for the ps3 (the sucky [game wise] of the two hd consoles) which have graphics AND game play. I have spent of 200 hours playing warhawk.

Who would copy-edit a conversational, online review of 8-bit gaming systems? How joyless is this? How can the em-dash still be a relevant piece of punctuation when there is no key for them on a keyboard?
To me, the most compelling sentences are the awkward ones that sound mistranslated. You can see a writer's personality in the mistakes he makes.

- Mayday, on 08/27/2008, -4/+9Fun list to go through....I had forgot about a few of those systems and unfortunately owned a few of them :-( I just can't agree with people that the wii sucks.....for a guy with a wife, little kids and working 50+ hrs a week its a great system. But I guess if I was a "true gamer" and devoted my life to gaming I would probably hate it too. I've been playing video games for over 20+ years, but my days of beating off to consoles are over.

Half the games on that system went on the be re-released to success on the Saturn and PS1. Seriously not a bad system. Allowing 8 people to play at once was bad ass too.

Ok, Tim the Tool Man Taylor. Can you tell me how this has actually improved games? Cite examples please, because simply saying "better ai" or "you can do more stuff" doesn't exactly cut it when so many "real" next-gen games out there are the exact same crap as last gen with a fresh coat of paint.

Opinion, but an understandable sentiment. Of course, how much does this really matter? If system A has X good games, and Y of them are first party while Z of them are third, does it really matter whether Z > Y ?

Wait, are we talking about quality or sales? Because if it's sales, then your whole argument thus far is rather moot. Not to mention the fact that total third-party sales are pretty good, and when third parties actually do make the effort, it generally pays off (see RE4).

Halo 3 isn't third-party, and developers clearly put in the effort with CoD4. I'm not sure how you can, with a straight face, argue first about how the Wii's third party games suck, then how they don't sell. No *****?

Last I saw (which was admittedly a while ago) the Wii had a higher attach rate than the PS3, despite the PS3 doing things to advance the "core" of gaming like "moving forward with reliable storage/new disc media" and "applying more power". So I see your point, the PS3 is clearly bad for the industry, I'm just not sure why you put this in your anti-Wii argument.
To summarize, you made an argument against the Wii that also applies to the 360, and another that also applies to the PS3, but still inferred that these things are requirements for a good console. You also complained about how crappy games don't sell as well as good ones (What a revelation!), and how new discs, more power, and having a better router/ISP are the only ways to advance "core" games (while things like changing the way games are controlled, putting up a database of every game for the system which includes streaming trailers, user recommendations, etc and having built-in console-wide character avatars are not). - cheese06, on 08/27/2008, -2/+6buried for having no humor.
