- RiemannLebesgue, on 10/12/2007, -0/+28If you read some of the info on the main "Super Mario Cake Set" page, it tells how this was kind of a surprise by the bride. The groom had pretty much given up on the idea of this cake because he couldn't find a Princess topper to go with the Mario one. His wife had already found one though (a search that took months) and had a local baker make up this cake. Lucky guy to marry such a thoughtful woman.
- fredgsanford, on 10/12/2007, -2/+27NOW I FINALLY HAVE A REASON TO GET MARRIED!
- MasterGrief, on 10/12/2007, -0/+18If you hate video games...
You are REALLY on the wrong website. - lainapie, on 10/12/2007, -2/+19Heh. Dont even think about it, gentlemen...
- krahzee, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15While the cake is not my style, why is everyone bashing this guy & his wife?
Sure they may not be your taste in women, or men, but if they're happy who gives a *****? It's not like you have to sleep with either one of them. Who cares? - RiemannLebesgue, on 10/12/2007, -8/+21I doubt the weight factored into his decision to marry her. It's called LOVE. Look it up.
- RandomSkratch, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12@oneisnotprime
If I may point out 2 things.
1. An even bigger waste of time was you posting something useless and including the sentence "Who cares about stupid video games anyway? "
And more importantly
2. Your #1 digg just so happens to be "SEGA's Virtual Console Lineup revealed!"
One of these things is not like the other... - JeremiahLBurns, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11I can't believe the amount of immature, callous, completely insensitive comments being made about this young woman on the most important day of her life. Shame on you.
She's not only found the man she wants to spend her life with, she's extremely understanding and caring for him if she's letting him have such a cake. Kudos! Here's to hoping their marriage is long, successful and happy. - worldsbestgamer, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10My wife would have killed me. My mother in law would have chopped off my man hood, then killed me.
- adezero, on 10/12/2007, -4/+12fanboi? get a life
- nfg05, on 10/12/2007, -13/+20looks like the bride REALLY enjoyed this cake. and several thousand before it.
- RiemannLebesgue, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7By the way, EVERYTHING except the toppers was made out of cake. The groom explains it all on his livejournal: http://vesicular.livejournal.com/123053.html
The baker's site is here: http://www.gateaux-inc.com/default.htm
Very impressive work. :) - sevyplates, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9@ mywhitenoise
Mr. mywhitenoise, I have found out that almost every digg article relating videogames will bound to have one of your asinine posts.
From the way you act I can certainly wager you've never "***** a hot peice of ass" before in your life. Infact i'd see it as a extraordinary feat if you've ever talked to a girl let alone have fell in love.
Seriously grow up. - icantdrawanime, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7hmm, if this is your offer, then I will consider this marriage thing...
- ross., on 10/12/2007, -1/+6no *****?
- mywhitenoise, on 10/12/2007, -7/+11she must have ate 3 mushrooms then.
- RiemannLebesgue, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Awesome cake.
- tafkase7en, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6Speaking of "fanboi" aren't you the one who searched Nintendo?
- drlha, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Congratulations sir, on making the perfect digg post that not only pointed out the fact that the bride was a bloater, but also managed to get dugg up for it!
- kitta, on 10/31/2007, -0/+2I would love a cake like that for my wedding, if my husband to be would allow it, my family and friends already think I'm a dork so I doubt anyone would mind.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2While I did find this interesting, I did not think it to be that big of a deal, but I knew a good part of the community would like it. My thanks goes out to those who dugg this to make it my first front page story, and to Jaimie, Magikgrl, for showing me this in the first place.
- ericab, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Lucky guy. I should hope my future husband gets me a Mario cake....or maybe Halo 2. Either one although I don't think a member of the Covenant would make a good cake topper.
- fatnutz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Digg should have it mandatory that your little icon be a picture of yourself, so that when you're calling out other people's "flaws", we can see your picture and in-turn judge you. Not that it would ever work, but theretically it would cut down on the snotty keyboard Super Models.
- dustedbunny, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I'm taking it you're a girl as well. But I'm the complete opposite...
I'd want this cake at my wedding in a heartbeat. Heck. i'd even take it a step further and dress up as mario and princess peach.
And the groomsmen can be goombas.
hehehehehe. - timbudtwo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2This is one of those things that when you have it, it is awesome. Then looking back in retrospect you are like "Why did I do that?"
- wisebob134, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I get married for that cake
- hackwrench, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2"get a life"
You offering yours? You don't appear to be using it for much of anything. - TheChimera, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Being somebody at the wedding, it was the best one ever - both the ceremony and the cake itself. My fiancee was one of the groom's groomsmen, and we're all, ahem, in the same WarCraft guild. In fact, we probably had the first professional wedding photo of a guild ever, or at least I hope so.
For those of you that have something negative to say about someone's appearance - one that did something truly amazing and thoughtful - please stand the ***** up for once, step away from your machine, and go find a mirror. You're more than likely lashing out because you truly don't like yourself. Fine, but don't diss somebody you don't even know, especially if they're being sought out for doing something positive.
Level up, grow up, or shut the ***** up! - nmaster64, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I've always wanted to try to figure out a way to work Nintendo into my wedding...I'll probably have some bizarre proposal using the Wii anyway knowing me...
I have always planned on having the first dance at my wedding be exactly like the ballroom scene from Final Fantasy VIII... - tombomb, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Great Idea: If you are going to have a mairo cake, you should have your guests show up at the weding reception and have the mesage "Sory, our princes is in another castle " and give them the real location
- Destinatus, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Wow this cake was made by a pro, I thought it was plastic at first.
- museo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1hang on a minute, the woman in the photo looks to be more impressed by the cake than the man.....which could mean it was made for the wo.....no,no, that just bends my mind too much.
- shadekeiko, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1YUMMY :D
- LostInTheWired, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0That's actually kind of sweet. XD Not many would go through that sort of trouble for their spouse, except maybe on wedding day. I wonder if their parents had anything to say about it.
- giangsing7, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1ahhh that looks reallllly goooood.
Anyone know what kind of cake it was?
mhmmmm chocolate... - marbles24, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I'm really surprised by the amount of girls saying good things about this. :P I know that, if my guy got a cake like this, then I would HAVE to marry him. I think it is awesome!
- input, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1That cake does look good.
- ircgoliath, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0@RandomSkratch
No, wait! Don't you see? His #1 digg is about *SEGA*
Awww... poor Sega fanboy is just bitter this isn't a Sonic cake - Edrick, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I can only hope to find a woman who would want a Super Mario Bros. wedding cake.
- coolguys101, on 02/25/2008, -0/+0A “favor” is a small gift for the wedding attendees. It’s an allegedly useful item that’s usually made of glass or metal. (Cheap plastic and light cardboard don’t seem special enough for most..) There is often a beautiful ribbon, or sometimes a candle involved in the favor and it probably has some inscription to commemorate the event or at least a card on wedding stationery.
Shop for your wedding favors in a unique way as they should be as unique as your wedding dress as they are personally from you! Plus your wedding is unique, too! Some brides, maybe you, want to provide a wedding favor that is a reflection of you and your spouse, or a very special wedding favor keepsake that your guests will remember you by and treasure forever. http://www.topweddingfavors.com/party-favors.html - eeleiko, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Wow, the cake was just amazing and FAR better than your average white shmucky frilly covered with white roses rubbish! I used to think I didn't need to get married to be happy but now......
Congrats to the happy couple xx - PitaNita, on 03/28/2008, -0/+0I found a pic of that cake last week, ran it by my fiance and was stunned when he LOVED it! We're now looking for a bakery around here that can do something like it.
- heartspark4ec, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0I promised my boyfriend he could have a mario cake at our wedding.
Dear God, what am I thinking?? - ac990379, on 03/19/2008, -0/+0hah... so big! http://www.kahwinmall.com
- Nikonian, on 08/17/2008, -0/+0http://kotaku.com/gaming/cake-pun-warning/the-lege ...
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0actually, they probably did get permission. at least i hope they did. i used to work at a grocery store bakery, and how they did it was they'd have kits bought from the company that owned the rights to whatever show or image, and customers could purchase them with a cake for $4 extra. we'd place the kits on and do whatever other decorating by hand. wedding cakes, though... that's probably a different story. lol
- slaystench, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2I'm a gamer, but there's no way in hell I'm going to have a wedding cake with mario on it.
- tafkase7en, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Look at the description of this digg moron.
- ajuk73, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0too many immature ppl on here taking the mickey cos of someones weight.,..are some of u like 13 yrs old or something..it sounds like the players on bf2 modern combat..damn kids
i thought the cake looked awesome..i hope my wife to be would do something like that for me..and yes me and my fiance are both big, but it doesnt mean we love each other any less..
just my lil rant - DownIsTheNewUp, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Awesome cake, but isn't it illegal to make and sell such a cake without permission? I remember somebody trying to get a Simpsons cake for their kid's birthday back in elementary school and nobody would do it.
