- dontstaylong, on 02/12/2008, -15/+578in other news, my social life disintegrates into nothingness on September 8th, 2008.
- Mewchu11, on 02/12/2008, -6/+503It's time to play god and chew bubblegum, and I'm all out of gum
- pathrw, on 02/12/2008, -15/+267I predict that this game will have a large influence on the elections this year. After all, apparently half of Americans think this game doesn't exist.
- Pimptastic, on 02/12/2008, -9/+235I just hope the game doesnt lock up on me with some error saying "Dude, that creature is f'ed up, your not allowed to play anymore"
- mortey, on 02/12/2008, -10/+180And in other news, Duke Nukem Forever will be released by the end of the century.
- airwalkery2k, on 02/12/2008, -4/+156Oh crap. I better schedule my Fall semester classes to leave plenty of room for Spore-playing sessions.
- ninjasenses, on 02/12/2008, -3/+149I remember when I was super excited about this 2 summers ago...
- Spytap, on 02/12/2008, -11/+136I can see the tagline now:
"Spore: The power of the universe in your pants"
wait, no....
"Spore: Millions of years of evolution led to what's inside your pants."
Dammit!
"Spore: penis." - yohnstoppable, on 02/12/2008, -1/+105My social life will improve due to the downloadable creatures. Closest thing I'll get to human contact all year since I don't play wow anymore. I survive off a colony of fungus in the corner of my mom's basement.
- cleric85, on 02/12/2008, -3/+99I better not die before its released. No high risk activites for me this year.
- tillerman00, on 02/12/2008, -1/+82that was hilarious with just a hint of sadness
- zengonzo, on 02/12/2008, -3/+72You high-five somebody after that one?
- chris3435, on 02/12/2008, -9/+78The release date is a lie!!
- Pimptastic, on 02/12/2008, -1/+70think they will give any bio chem credit for this game?
- contradictator, on 02/12/2008, -2/+65That only happens to Robin Williams.
- pathrw, on 02/12/2008, -0/+56So... no class, right?
- innerpenguin, on 02/12/2008, -0/+47Is it just me, or does it seem a bit tacky for the official Spore website to have advertisements?
They are not even relevant ads. - DarthBibble, on 02/12/2008, -2/+48you're
- myotive, on 02/12/2008, -4/+48It's about friggin' time!
....Sheesh.... - NeoCortex, on 02/12/2008, -2/+44Which one?
- BlueSkyfish, on 02/12/2008, -1/+40Cell phone games usually suck. Be happy they're releasing it for DS.
- Zamfir, on 02/12/2008, -36/+73So basically you're saying your (lack of a) social life will remain the same.
- inactive, on 02/12/2008, -1/+37http://www.spore.com/
- CrimsonFate, on 02/12/2008, -5/+40How juvenile and cliche of you.
- GoatBn, on 02/12/2008, -2/+36Dugg for the "Amino Acid" metaphor.
- built2spill, on 02/12/2008, -2/+34RE: Hardware requirements - I think they started development on a Pentium III and a graphics card made by Voodoo, so, I'm assuming that a modest PC will play OK...just a hunch...
- mrrandom, on 02/12/2008, -4/+35Which half of Americans think this doesn't exist? You think Spore is about evolution? What exactly are you doing when you use the editor to design your creature? Dare I say Intelligent Design? Playing Spore involves taking an active role in your creature's design, not passively watching it evolve.
(Note: I'm not an advocate of I.D. but just want people to be clear about the game.) - Pimptastic, on 02/12/2008, -0/+29That game has produced the funniest moment in my gaming history. As my large monkey threw poop into the town, the townsfolk ran ot worship it and make it a shrine. I had Holy *****.
I still laugh about that. - contradictator, on 02/12/2008, -2/+30Yay! Still not soon enough though!
- ninjasenses, on 02/12/2008, -1/+26High fives rule...uuuuuuuup top!!!
- Pentadact, on 02/12/2008, -0/+24Duke, surely?
- AYork, on 02/12/2008, -1/+25But that's what you said LAST century!
- Bender1012, on 02/12/2008, -4/+27I'll be sure to tell my great, great, great grandkids how awesome this game is when it comes out.
- built2spill, on 02/12/2008, -2/+25Hey - any grease monkeys out there who can make a Spore Release Date Countdown plugin for FireFox? Please?
- steelclash84, on 02/12/2008, -0/+22What ads? /adblock
- cruelpupet, on 02/12/2008, -3/+23Have they announced the minimum hardware requirements and the suggested hardware requirements? I know many have asked about that since the game went public.
- drmangrum, on 02/12/2008, -0/+20I would much prefer they take their time to release a quality game than to push it out quickly for a money grab.
Remember KOTOR2... - zengonzo, on 02/12/2008, -2/+21But .. you can use your finger on the DS .. ?
- aladrin, on 02/12/2008, -1/+18No, it'll be -ported- to a Wii. You can bet the PC graphics will be just amazing.
- zengonzo, on 02/12/2008, -1/+18Giuliani is into Spore?
- CHAD3814, on 02/12/2008, -1/+18What a pathetic excuse to be lazy. "Others don't bother to use the correct word"
- heypetray, on 02/12/2008, -0/+16Oh, you poor soul. I can't even imagine your embarrassment right now. DN>Doom
- FiP0, on 02/12/2008, -2/+18"They Live" (1988)
- Renfer, on 02/12/2008, -1/+17if it is a lie, EA will burn in hell... wait, theyre already there.
- vacax, on 02/12/2008, -18/+33Buried for linking to blog. Correct Digg submission would have pointed here: http://www.spore.com/press_021208.php
- Iwantawii, on 02/12/2008, -0/+15The Todd agrees.
- fani, on 02/12/2008, -2/+17That news is sporrific.
I am excited for spore as I'm starting to crave for new original games.
I still like the 4th version of Call Of Duty, 4th version of GTA, 4th version of Burnout, 10th version of Rainbow6 etc. etc. but every now and then, I really appreciate new genres/new games coming out. Then I don't mind Spore 2, Spore 3 etc. till another entirely new game / game type comes out. - Vindexus, on 02/12/2008, -0/+14How you deliver a message is important if you want that message delivered.
- canthraxp, on 02/12/2008, -0/+14Remember.. any game from EA that had a sequel, specially on the "EAsports".
- djbutnot, on 02/12/2008, -0/+14I think he's referring to GreaseMonkey the extension to Firefox. But that only lets you modify what is on a website, unless you do want a Spore counter in corner of every webpage you visit (no thanks).
