  • caddyalan, on 05/28/2008, -0/+1If there was a major weakness of the Genesis/Megadrive, it was the multiple spinoffs of the original system. The SNES almost had a CD add-on, while the Gen/MD had a CD add-on, the 32X, portable versions, and multiple combinations of the system and its CD unit. I don't know if this hurt the system more than Sega's "self competition" and the problems with the Saturn, but the Sega CD and the 32X may have been detrimental.
