- 1021, on 10/12/2007, -3/+37Feb. 23... so it should be hitting the torrents any minute now!
- ModernTenshi, on 10/12/2007, -2/+18This is awesome. RE4 is easily my favorite game of last generation, particularly the GameCube version, and I will gladly buy it again for PC. Hopefully they'll include the special features they had in the PS2 port, and possibly more.
- iniquity2007, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9NEEDS MOUSE SUPPORT!!!
- thedraft, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9It's looks TERRIBLE in high res. TERRIBLE.
RE4 is a pretty classic example of art trumping technology. In fact, it's a GREAT example of using the technical limitations of a system to your advantage. GCN couldn't handle high res textures, so the RE4 team used art and design that lent itself to a kind of dirty, smudged up look. The result is one of the greatest looking games I've ever played.
The PC version looks like ass, though. It reminds me of trying to run a game at 1024x768 on an LCD w/ a native res of 1280x1024. Everything looks stretched and washed out.
On top of all that, Capcom is pretty notorious for completely half assing their console -> PC ports. Mouse support will be iffy, or non-existent. Options you think of ass standard on PC games, like menus, resolution choices, texture detail, etc.; just won't be there. Performance will be sub-par.
RE4 is my game of the generation. And I heartily recommend you check it out, on the Gamecube if possible, but the PS2 version is alright as well. Stay the hell away from this one, though. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7i hope it isnt just a straight port, but a graphically-enhanced re4
- steverl22, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10This game will look/run like ass.
See: DMC3 for the PC, that port was one of the worst port jobs of the year.
If you want to enjoy this game play the GC version. - ExSlashdotter, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5The PC will more than likely run the game at a higher resolution, but the graphics of them game will more than likely remain unchanged (polygon counts, textures, lighting, etc).
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -6/+11Too bad it looks worse than the PS2 emulated on the PC and doesn't have mouse support.

Comparison to PS2: http://boards.gamefaqs.com/gfaqs/genmessage.php?board=931851&topic=33287078 - pp7k, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5I'll believe it when I see it. RE4 for PC is vaporware. I saw a release date of last March from the developer. Came and went with NO explanation.
- evilesttoast, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4I haven't even bought the Gamecube version yet. But on my PC with better graphics, it'll just be awesome.
- LebenOjanen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Screw the pansy ass blog, here's the youtube link:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QI-AcKYc9QQ&eurl= - mizzack, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5AND even after beating the game multiple times (professional mode, anyone?) there's always Assignment Ada and Mercenaries to keep you busy. Ahhh, the satisfaction of earning the handcannon.
Let's just hope Ubisoft doesn't screw up this port like they did with DMC3 - 1longtime, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I understand the technical limitations related to porting a game to a mouse based environment, but if it can't be done then the entire idea should be scrapped. The biggest reason I play shooter games on PC is because I can use the mouse and keyboard.
- kinesis8, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3agreed, but the way you phrased your sentence made it also sound like the RE4 was released on the xbox which never happened. The upcoming RE5 on the 360 should be awesome though
- o0joshua0o, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4RE4 was the single best multiplatform game of the Xbox/PS2/Gamecube generation consoles.
- MikeDugg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2f*cking spammer. get lost.
- trapt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2if it doesnt come out in feb its not coming out at all.
- gallagherFTW, on 10/12/2007, -5/+7favorite game ever. just get the gamecube version though. the controls are perfect on the gc. oh i never play games through again on single player but...
i have just beaten it for the THIRD time in a year if that is any indication of how good this game is. - TheSevenDuffs, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2reported first on some crazy site? i doubt this is coming out at this point. it makes no sense
- CoolJammer00, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I saw screenshots. They decided not to shade anything in, so it looks like House of the Dead and by that I mean disgusting.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2lol
Im so phyced about this
I always wanted this game on PC - hippo1989, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1no mate
- Asianwaste, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1RE4 with the mouse... could work... hopefully better than Cold Fear.
At least this could go for some interesting mods. - FizixMan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The only good that could possibly come of this is possible haxx0rzing/modding for RE4:RidiculouslyAwesomeEdition
- Sethbacca, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This game would be way too easy with mouse aiming :P Gamepad all the way!
- idigital, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1No mouse support? That's mental.
- BabyWookie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It was originaly supposed to come out last October, but there was a last minute delay. Hopefully, Capcom realized what a rushed, ***** port Devil May Cry 3: Special addition was and posponed releasing RE4 until it was a bit more polished. I wouldn't count on that though.
- mizzack, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Actually, run and gun isn't as "realistic" as stop and pop. Plus, if you can't dodge enemies in RE4, then your strategy is lacking. Sure the ganadoes are faster than zombies in previous RE games, but you can shoot them in the legs to drop them, or even whip out your knife if they get too close. Jumping and crouching would be pointless too...
- darthdurden, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2you have obviously never played RE4 in your life, possibly one of the best games ever made, I'm a FEAR fan also, but its not nearly as good as RE4, can't comment on company of heroes as I haven't played it, but it does look pretty sweet....
FEAR and RE4 are games with a similar atmosphere and pace.... RE4 isn't like oldschool RE (not knocking it, I love all of the other games as well) its much faster paced and more run and gun - BabyWookie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"Lockdown was an embarrassment, and Vegas received mixed reviews."
Umm, I have no idea about the PS3 version, but the 360 version of Vegas has close to 90% average score on GameRankings. That is not "mixed reviews". - SLSSNAKE, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I remember hearing about this port ages ago but never hearing anything else after the announcement. I was wondering if it was going to happen.
Eh, I have it on PS2 which is good enough for me. It's an amazing game. - OwenX, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1http://owenx.farklem.com/RE4/
While my computer may not be "teh roxxors" it has a X800, and consistently runs RE4 at 30fps (the max it allows)
Screenies and video. - obeseotron, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Grow up, the Mac isn't a gaming platform and probably won't ever be one. If you want to play games, install bootcamp or buy a console. Nice OS and all, just never going to have games.
- VeganG, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Well, the design of the game sort of wouldn't work, if you could use a mouse. Your aiming is set at a fixed rate (intentionally slow), so using a mouse would feel extremely awkward. People would cry that it's "unresponsive."
- BabyWookie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Hey, I liked Cold Fear. What was wrong with the mouse controls in that game?
- HMMaster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@mandarin
I played the PC version of DMC3 and the controls are really BAD (and I'm using a gamepad instead of keyboard) - NetSliderX, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1http://www.ebgames.com/product.asp?product%5Fid=646499
This says it comes out in April...
I would like to see a confirmation of no mouse support as that would be really stupid
I was all excited to load this up with glovepie and finally play re4 with my wii remote! - OwenX, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1http://owenx.farklem.com/RE4/
While my computer may not be "teh roxxors" it has a X800, and consistently runs RE4 at 30fps (the max it allows)
Screenies and video. - Asianwaste, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1They were terribly awkward on PC. The camera control was awkward too. Cold Fear sort of made me sad. It had the possibility to be a great game had they gone the full mile into the game.
- riplikethat, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1If UBI ***** up this port as well for PC gamers like they did with RS: Vegas and DMC3, then I am getting this one from torrent.
As for graphics, they look ok, not the best but as long as the gameplay is good I don't care much. Then again, they announced this game for PC like an year ago, and they didn't even bother with adding proper mouse support and 'improving' the graphics.. at least those blurry textures AT ALL? I mean, I can ignore crappy looking tree and grass models but after playing the Silent Hill 3 for PC, I'd say RE4 looks like ***** in comparison. The new 'cam' they were talking about like the next best thing in any game has been done already by games like Cold Fear (awesome game btw) on PC and it better be THAT good if not better. - whiteguysamurai, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Cool, I've always wanted to try it, but buying a gamecube or ps2 makes me sick.
Now I'll get to try it! - darthdurden, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1First off, I am def. not a console fanboy, I probably play 90% of my games on PC, I only own one console (Wii) and that is just for playing party games mostly for when i have friends over... FEAR does have some of the best AI i have seen in a long time, but for what RE4 is the AI is plenty sufficient, how smart do zombies (or ganados) have to be before their AI is good? Answer: not very, so the comparison is not really a good one, since the enemies are very different in nature, in RE4 they aren't suppose to be smart on purpose
as far as story goes the overall resident evil story is much better than FEARs, the FEAR plot advances very slowly and for the first 3/4 of the game your goal is "Find Fettel" and that doesn't change... not saying it is a bad game in any way... but the plot just isn't there like it is in RE.... and the graphics of FEAR vs. RE4 shouldn't even be in this debate, since they are both very good... and neither of them have any meaningful shortcomings... RE4 is by far the best looking game on cube, and FEAR is near the top of PC for now... also just because a game doesn't have MP doesn't make it bad, lots of games don't have multiplayer, it just doesn't fit some games as easily... when i judge a game i judge the single player against the single player and the multiplayer against the multiplayer since they are usually two very different experiences - 3dom, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1official: the graphics are worse. no lighting or bump mapping. and no mouse support? I'm rather glad I downloaded the cracked version before I bought this steaming pile of port.
- CoolJammer00, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2no mouse control. you people do realize that?
- Medusausi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Lara should get a clue from Leon.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1You wanna complain a little bit more for living in the UK?
- daridave, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'm replaying it now for the 6th time on the Wii (well, GCN BWC).
Will it ever get old? Don't think so... this game pwns. But it's kindda weird to release it on PC now. feels late, no? I'm not complaing, better late than never, but ... umm. - skytimelapse, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2RE4 was the only game I bought for the GC.
I have no regrets. best. game. ever. - CrimsonX, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Whenever i click on my game.exe I get a error that says game.exe has stopped working. How can I fix this. I'm running windows vista
- CrimsonX, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Help, when i click on the game I get the game.exe has stopped working. Check online solutions and a close program error.
