- Splitt3rxx, on 10/11/2007, -4/+37after playing the first one I am not excited at all for red steel 2.
- DickMcVengeance, on 10/11/2007, -0/+13Yeah, but it's still to see if they'll have those horrific rubber arms. So glad I got that game as a present, and not with my own money.
- TheThestral, on 10/11/2007, -8/+18I have had better game play on a tiger handheld...
- crisisaverted, on 10/11/2007, -4/+14Agreed. Thats a franchise that should die before it begins
- Exhaust, on 10/11/2007, -1/+10Red Steal sold nearly a million copies but 98% of those customers wish they didn't buy it. Goldeneye on N64 was a better game. Graphically and controls.
- snowmanchris, on 10/11/2007, -2/+9I played through the first one fully, and it was pretty sweet, large levels, weapon choice, and level design were all pretty sweet. Of course the day i got it i encountered several glitches, but that is besides the fact.
The game needs two things, both the "Red" (blood) and the "Steel" (sweet sword play). - rufo, on 10/11/2007, -7/+14Say what you will, I *liked* Red Steel. It certainly wasn't a fantastic game by any stretch of the imagination, but I found the control scheme rather fun... something about holding down the A button, stretching your arm out to zoom in sniping just felt right to me.
Buggy? Yes. Choppy? Yes. Lame AI? Yes. Still had a blast playing it. - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -4/+11Red Steel 2 will have online multiplayer. I think they confirmed it another article but i know they're going to do it. but i don't think that will help red steel 2 at all. for one, i think i was one of the five people that actually bought the game.
well, at least they'll fix the control system. - blaaguuu, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6I think with a lot of thought and some hard work, Red Steel 2 could be a good game - especially if they focused on Online multiplayer. I actually kinda liked the game, for what it was... But the controls have quite a learnign curve, and are pretty problematic, so when i tried to play with some friend in MP they just gave up a few mins in, because they coudlnt get any kills.
Also they need to design the sword fighting so it works in MP, too. - MCHampster, on 10/11/2007, -1/+7"for one, i think i was one of the five people that actually bought the game."
Actually, sales of Red Steel and Rayman Raving Rabbids were very good for the Wii. They each sold nearly 1 million copies

- DAaaMan64, on 10/11/2007, -1/+7I am excited. I think the development team seemed to mean well with the first one but were pushed to get it out quick. Plus, after about 2hrs I really started to like that game. so yay for me.
- wounded625, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5My thoughts EXACTLY!
- kosenki, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Hopefully, they execute the concept of this game better the second time around; I want to whip out a sword in the middle of a gun fight and slash around with a wii remote
- drjekelmrhyde, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5The first one was rushed hopefully this one wont
- fluidfoundation, on 10/11/2007, -3/+7I guess they are banking on someone never actually playing the first one.
I still have nightmares from the graphics. Marathon looked better. - SAOSiN, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Was it really that bad? I haven't played the game, I wanted to but everyone has said such nasty things about it so I stayed away from it.
- Slydevil01, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4I'm not so sure it is *officially* confirmed. Here's the original report.

It's a bit shoddy, can anyone translate the last paragraph? - directive0, on 10/11/2007, -5/+8*****, I'll play it. Some of you guys are real game snobs. Good for you.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3MY big problem with that that hasnt been mentioned is there are only four multiplayer maps! very lame.
- crazybrit, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Goldeneye is better than most games.
- Namco, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3hmmm.... perhaps it was your shaky aim on the wiimote in much the way you're missing the keys on your keyboard right now.
- timmage89, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4I thought the graphics in Red Steel were some of the best on the Wii.
- gweedo767, on 10/11/2007, -3/+6You know, I guess I didn't play the same game everyone else did. Sure, it wasn't perfect, but I enjoyed it.
- Flamekebab, on 10/11/2007, -2/+5I do wonder why so many people hate Red Steel so much.
I've heard people complain about the controls and how the cursor twitches. I encountered that when I had my sensor bar half hidden under a pile of stuff on top of my TV, but otherwise it worked perfectly. I actually went through most of the game a second time with only the pistol, as headshots kill instantly and I found shooting accurately in it to be awesome.
The story didn't captivate me and the sword play was fairly boring at times, but generally I thought it wasn't too bad at all, for a launch game. I'm a total light-gun junky though, so I guess it's ideal for me. - defectDS, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3I loved Red Steel, especially the rabbit level, freaky as hell. It wasn't until I read everyone's complaints that I began to see the flaws of the game.
Multiplayer was a little boring though. - AlmostEvil, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Aye, I bought my Wii as a pack with a bunch of games. Red Steel was part of that pack.
Red Steel just isn't a very good game, the control system is awful.. frustratingly so. - DickMcVengeance, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Seems just like when Sony flipped out about Home being leaked on Kotaku.
- Myko, on 10/11/2007, -2/+4Hopefully they'll take Scarface's example and copy that control scheme for movemen. If they do that I'd be pretty excited for it as I liked the story line in RS.
- rjam710, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Rayman is actually really fun. Red Steel, on the other hand, makes me want to beat someone to death with the wii-mote. I think most people just bought it because they figured a sword game and the wii-mote went hand in hand, but in the end it was a pretty big letdown; you couldn't even have sword fights with your friends in multiplayer. However, it was one of the first games to come out for a brand new system with a completely different control scheme, so let's hope they get it right the second time around.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -2/+4Yeah because the first was so good. Lets make another!
- Varz, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2wtf the graphics didn't suck, you do know this is a wii we're talking about here don't you?
Anyway the first game was boring I didn't even play through all of it so excitement = 0. - Odjn, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2I wonder are they going to fix the ***** level design and incompetent A.I. (the shooting thugs)?
- SilentRamble42, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3Literally after 10 minutes of Red Steel, I popped it out and haven't played it since. Complete waste of money.
- Exhaust, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3Yes. It was THAT bad. These people that "liked" it must not play many games.
Seriously the graphics were worse like Goldeneye on N64 if not worse. And you've heard about the control scheme issues... I rented it and wanted my money back. I feel sorry for the poor bastards that waited in line for a Wii and bought this giant turd of a game. - keppj0nes, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3So this means they are going to spend all their time on sword movements and neglect graphics and stories. Not looking forward to this game.
- xike, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2I didn't even finish it, which is extremely unusual for me ($50 isn't pocket change.) Are we sure these are the same people that made Prince of Persia and Ghost Recon?
- Smoktiludy, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2When I waited in line for my Wii with everyone else, there was about 30% of the people there planning on buying Red Steel before Zelda. I'm really glad I rented RS first. I couldn't take more than 30 minutes before I was frustrated and bored.
Resident Evil 4 on the Wii is by the far the best implementation of a shooter with Wii controls so far. - littlesquall, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3I played Red Steel last week. The controls left a lot to be desired. Hopefully they'll fix some of the issues.
- potterboy, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3Why?
- mc4_a, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2It had one fun level but otherwise it was a total abortion.
- waywrong, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2How was that link even remotely close to being "the word straight from the mouth of Ubisoft" ?
- junk2006, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3I don't care about the graphics what are they going to do for the crappy storyline
- limeyfather, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3This one better not suck. I'm serious.
- sherlockian, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1whoopty flippin' doo.
- DarthBrady, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2Totally agreed. I enjoyed it too. Both the first and Second Time I beat it.
- majost, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1As a QA Lead -- the last thing I want to do when I go home to play a game is find more damn bugs. Maybe this time they will actually play test the game...you know... so that when you throw a grenade through a doorway in multi-player, it actually goes through the doorway instead of bouncing back at you from hitting the invisible polygon in a doorway.
- double2, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1I G ***** N...exactly
- ffleming, on 10/11/2007, -3/+4i thought that red steel was fun.
but i'm the only one - funkytommyman, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1The graphics WERE pretty bad, but I loved the controls. It is a way better concept to aim with the Wiimote and using motion to open doors than using two analog sticks.
