- carbon12, on 07/30/2008, -0/+9Its amazing how just changing the textures and moving the light sources make the levels looks so different compared to the original Q3. Example: http://cheats.gamespy.com/dor/objects/954727/quake ...
- SolInvictus, on 07/30/2008, -0/+7I can't wait to hear Carmack's keynote this year. Last year's took up close to 150 minutes of my time, and it was all good.
- lunatix, on 07/30/2008, -0/+6quake3 baby, =)
- Slashered, on 07/31/2008, -0/+3Just to note, this does not mean that the beta will become public this weekend, it just means that the first public gameplay footage will be released. Quake Live beta testers may not release any pictures or videos under NDA, and id hasn't released any footage besides the 30 second clip.
- Zenham, on 07/30/2008, -1/+3Here's hoping it doesn't have the crappy Gladiator AI from Q3 though... nothing was more irritating than playing (even just on "Hard"), having a bot get a railgun, and proceed to get perfect hits from clear across the map while I was madly maneuvering. They had perfect awareness of the player position at all times, even while the player would be completely out of sight.
Grrrr. - n3tfury, on 07/31/2008, -1/+3Quake or death.
- andy2na, on 07/31/2008, -0/+2Quake 3 wasnt made for bots and AI....
- lacronicus, on 07/31/2008, -1/+3Maybe I'm missing something, but what does this really matter? I too am excited about it's release, since it means i can play quake from anywhere, but I see no reason to get all uppity about seeing footage of what is effectively a quake 3 port. It's not like you don't know exactly what to expect; hell, most of you have basically already played it, so what's the big deal?
All that said, woohoo for progress! - Terbo, on 07/31/2008, -1/+3Quake for life!
- Soup4Brains, on 08/01/2008, -0/+2Wait, I'm under an NDA? Do they really expect everyone at Quakecon not to show anything (they all got into the beta)?
- inactive, on 07/31/2008, -0/+2OpenArena Baby, 8)
- Sp1k3, on 07/31/2008, -0/+1I really can't wait to get my hands on this, I hope mods are supported like Fortress! If an invite just managed to find it's way into the inbox of jjivany(the AT symbol goes here)gmail.com I really wouldn't mind!!
Anyway, I can't wait till this one goes LIVE.
Also you guys really should support OpenArena if you like Quake 3, it's also free. - Slashered, on 07/31/2008, -0/+1it is more than just a quake 3 port. there are several core gameplay changes to an already legendary game. only a couple hours left!
- rigorx, on 07/31/2008, -1/+2ALL RAIL NO BRAIN !!! (c) Cooller
- MacSuxWindozSux, on 08/01/2008, -0/+1Uh Quake 3 had bots and AI.
You could even insult them and they'd insult you back! - mitoticz, on 08/01/2008, -0/+1COOL WEAPON!
- ortucis, on 08/01/2008, -0/+1It's cool and all but for the love of my atheist god, after Doom 4 and Rage please make a proper sequel to Quake 2 (Q4 was good but.. well, it was crap compared to Q2). Oh and iD should make this one in the house instead of letting developers like Raven & Splash Damage ***** all over the franchise.
- MacSuxWindozSux, on 08/01/2008, -0/+1Close but not quite. There's a little bit of changed geometry there.
- durru7, on 07/31/2008, -2/+1anyone have any more invites?
- inactive, on 07/31/2008, -4/+1Legions is a new game.
Quake Live is an old game.
