- ACrazyGerman, on 10/11/2007, -3/+66I had thought they released a new Pokemon.
- DyDx, on 10/11/2007, -4/+24It only plays a few crappy games and some tech demos, and the author has decided to discontinue working on it and to release the code to the public via GPL. Can you say "dead project?"
- lolhax, on 10/11/2007, -5/+21LOL, I expected that you generally read what you posted.

"Mattfazzer has announced PSPemu, a PSP emulator for Linux, Mac OS X, and Windows. The first beta will be released on Oct. 1."
Or do you have to install this new kernel patch to make your Lunix display dates? - wounded625, on 10/11/2007, -0/+16what would be cool is the psp emulator running dosbox which would run windows 95 which would run the psp emulator and so on.
- Gunrun, on 10/11/2007, -0/+16I wonder if you can run home brew emulators on the PSP emulator, running under Windows using WINE running on Ubuntu running in parallels on a mac would just be fantastic.
- JorgeGT, on 10/11/2007, -2/+17everything running emulated by the Matrix mainframe...?
- kakwakas, on 10/11/2007, -0/+12WHY would you do that kind of thing to yourself?
....Even though I know I'd try it. - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -2/+14Any Guilty Gear fans?
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/2/29/Potemkin.gif/250px-Potemkin.gif - jackpot, on 10/11/2007, -3/+15fake perhaps?
"Potemkin villages were, purportedly, fake settlements erected at the direction of Russian minister Grigori Aleksandrovich Potemkin to fool Empress Catherine II during her visit to Crimea in 1787" - atluen, on 10/11/2007, -1/+12i prefer to think of it as an effort to make everything backwards compatible with everything. its the natural order of things.

- davidhildreth, on 10/11/2007, -0/+9c'mon now that's a great name
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Battleship_Potemkin - Jeffler, on 10/11/2007, -12/+18Wine Is Not an Emulator.
- Drakoola, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6can we get a download that doesn't require a login?
- Elranzer, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Well if it's now open-source, GPL'd, you can't really say it's dead. I'm sure 500 great new PSP emulators that all do the same thing will pop out of this...
- toxiclove999, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3/wrists
- Elranzer, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3Wine was "WINdows Emulator" before that recursive acronym nonsense...
- bladejin, on 10/11/2007, -3/+5It's not really about what the games it plays - it's just the advancement it has made in the PSP scene. This is pretty revolutionary for such a complicated system.
If anyone is looking for a download without registration:
http://rapidshare.com/files/31015520/Potemkin.rar - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Link please? I'd like to download this "PS2" for windows you speak of.
- Dunge, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3The included DaShRealease.exe file wasn't working for me so I re-compiled it and it run great.
For those who don't have VS2005:

You will still need the other source code pack for the .ini files and all. - ishmael5, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Potemkin in GG is awesome! GGX is actually all i don't have,(minus the crappy GG dust strikers and GGA) My favorite characters are Potemkin and Faust. I can't wait untill Accent Core is released, because the changes to Potemkin are ridiculous!
- danmanx, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2Well...Puzzle Quest is kick ass. And...well...Final Fantasy Crisis Core...hopefully.
- RichMan, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1What are the recommended computer specs for PSP games to emulate with sound at a smooth framerate with this?
- camintmier, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2Anyone care to release a built version?
- vocalyouth, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2I'd rather listen Potemkin City Limits.
- DTAL, on 10/11/2007, -4/+5If you wanna try a PSP game before u buy it just download the ISO and play it on your PSP, that's what i do but I never end up buying that overpriced game. I just keep on "trying" it.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Chipp and Jam are my faves. They're so fast, which I love.
- iRoy, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1I have X and X2, I never really liked Potemkin he was mad slow.
Sol Badguy was cool though but my favorite charachter was Chipp Zanuff, he was the coolest.
They should have named it Chipp Zanuff.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chipp_Zanuff - lowerlogic, on 10/11/2007, -5/+6But can the PSP emulator for windows be emulated in wine on linux?
- hukibeast, on 04/11/2009, -0/+0Pretty much impossible. It's an incomplete emulator for a complex system.
- Mais, on 10/11/2007, -2/+2@bryanjk
You are wrong. Wine doesn't emulate programs, it runs them. It simply allows Windows executables to be...well...executed. No emulation takes place whatsoever.
@lowerlogic
I think that question is funnier on /. ;) - DyDx, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1@elranzer: That's assuming there's someone out there with a lot of motivation, time and talent who wants to pick up where it's been left off -- and that the available code isn't complete ***** (just because it works does not mean it is good).
- specialK16, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1Only a few games work right?
- modtho, on 04/26/2008, -0/+0Download psp games for free : http://psp-games-free.com
Enjoy it! - oato7, on 03/17/2008, -0/+0hehehe totally *****
- TheTjalian, on 10/11/2007, -3/+3I'd hardly call PSP Homebrew Projects "crappy". They're some of the best homebrew ever released on a dedicated gaming platform.
- foolfromhell, on 10/11/2007, -5/+2Can I play Windows games on my PSP with this?
- BryanJK, on 10/11/2007, -10/+3@Jeffler:
...yes it is, it just doesn't emulate the entire operating system, just the apps themselves - RubberBinder, on 10/11/2007, -9/+2Wait, first we don't like the PSP games so we make emulators to play nes, snes, etc. on the PSP, then we decide to play PSP games on the PC.
If that isn't ironic, I don't know what is. - Zanza, on 10/11/2007, -9/+1now i can try, before even thinking about considering to buy an overpriced and bad PSP game!
- jgee, on 10/11/2007, -10/+2Wine [Wine Is Not an Emulator]
- knodi, on 10/11/2007, -13/+1PSP has games?? O.o
- qwerty1024, on 10/11/2007, -14/+0I already got one of those. It's called a PS2
- schestowitz, on 10/11/2007, -24/+3Those who are Mac and Linux users will be able to use this: http://macmegasite.com/node/2436
