- Scatropolis, on 10/12/2007, -0/+53Well that was when Ultimate Frisbee was going to be part of Wii-Sports.
And you think throwing your control is a problem now.... - netdroid9, on 10/12/2007, -0/+28That's the Shuriken controller, it was replaced by the Nunchucku.
- Bronstone, on 10/12/2007, -2/+27I guess this disproves the "once you go black, you don't go back" notion.
;) - Ummagumma, on 10/12/2007, -0/+21What the hell is that star in the middle of the picture. Is that a Wii prototype? Dunno if I'd allow something like that in my house. ;)
- flamingmb, on 10/12/2007, -0/+20whats a dup, is it an animal? Kinda sounds like duck.
- BigjonnyF, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13Wow, I'm glad we got the one we did
- fourzerofour, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10It's "duplicate" for people that can't spell the entire word.
uhhh.... nevermind - MackPrime, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9the star is the "win game" button.
- bigbchew, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Power Star FTW
- flamingmb, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7and how do we know these are real?
- LordofChaosIori, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8If these are really old... wouldn't it say Revolution instead of Wii? That was the project's codename after all...
- OpCzar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5"The remote to the far left is for controlling the DVD player part of the console... "
Yeah, riiiiight:

- DelMonte, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4You guys might be interested to see these other Wiimote and nun-chuck prototypes:

These can be found in an industrial design educational book destined to students, it's official Nintendo stuff that they gladly offered to be included in that book.
Note that on one of the prototype, you can see the exact same circle four-way button as the one found in the currently linked picture. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Where do you see "Wii" besides in the computer-generated post-photo overlay?
- f3l1x, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3that and they track it through this *****... im tired of these asshats.

wtf is out.php doing for us hmmm? - yensed, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6In japan, Nintendo+Panasonic releases a Gamecube with a DVD drive and a little screen(Showing what chapter and time). The remote to the far left is for controlling the DVD player part of the console... I've never seen the other 2.
Here is a pic of a Silver Panasonic+Nintendo Gamecube http://www.hizone.info/data/2004/05/11/images/panasonic-q.jpg - olddirtycr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Just be happy that 246 people at this time who haven't seen it, saw it. Chances are if something was submitted more than a month ago only 1% of digg users saw it.
- jaba1337, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2That really did exist. I remember reading about it in an old issue of EGM. Too bad it never made it outside of japan.
- merreborn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The light grey thing on the lower right kinda looks like it might have been a very early version of the N64 controller
- Jadael, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Why can't this be a scan of a recent Japanese magazine, with Nintendo showing off some of their old designs?
- b3mus3d, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2OmegaNine, I was almost with you, ALMOST, but then you misused 'where' and your credibility went to ***** :(
- MadFunk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Too bad its layout is almost the exact same as a Cube controller, eh? =P
It's too strangely shaped to be taken seriously though-- that top edge is just ridiculous. Though, it /might/ make some sens if it had something to do with motion sensing. - RyanB18, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Billy, oh billy boy, when are you going to find what you're looking for.....Here's a nice pile of *****
- wtfmate112, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Those are some interesting designs they came up with, the one in the top right with the rotating d-pad is pretty weird looking. I wonder how they would implement that in a game?
- lexaken, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1lol.
- DarkHorizon5, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Because the Japanese actually is gramatically correct and not something that google translate would spit out?
e: Actually, good point. Nobody else pointed it out. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2that gamecube is beautiful...
- daveddd, on 10/12/2007, -17/+18Did you forget how to spell "Reeeeaaally?"
It's "Really."
I wouldn't want the Digg "speelig" police to cacht yuo. - BlueCyclone, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2At least he didn't say "Wiiiiiiiiiiiilly"
- Wonotch, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'm pretty sure thats a 4 and not supposed to be a button...
- OmegaNine, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Gregmo, i was almost with you, ALMOST...then you where a mac fan boy and your credibility went to ***** :(
- gregmo, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4i really dont think it matters whether theyre real or not. It's not a matter of life or death whether theyre fake .. unlike with the iPhone
- loquedesea, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1why does it look as though it's a war-torn Kosovo survivor barely hanging on by a thread?? why all the wear-n-tear??
- jaz677, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Overall I am happy with the controller we got. It seems they took a lot of time and effort to create such a great controller. Its weight and size give it a natural feeling you can't resist. But I would still prefer the n64 controller over it any day!....and i hope they come out with an attachment for it soon for it!!
- MrPerfect, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2The Blackness of it all is Hot.
- f3l1x, on 10/12/2007, -4/+4guys.. open your eyes. had the submitter used the actual image's link, he would have been greeted by this already submited article.
http://digg.com/gaming_news/Wiimote_prototypes_how_the_Wiimote_could_have_looked_otherwise
so its not just a dup.. its the exact same link through a crappy site's redirector. (or whatever the hell else its doing)
but whatever .. ill give you all the benefit of the doubt and say it was an honest mistake.. yea. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Grammar Nazi alert.
Daveddd, you've got dugg down. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1What is wrong with some of you, I have submitted a story, maybe someone else did,NOT MY FAULT...nobody should be getting pissed because someone submitted the same thing and it only got like 8 diggs...learn to make better titles/descriptions and don't take it out on me by saying "duplicate" a million times
- AlphaPrime, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1This was on Kotaku.com a couple of days ago...
- ydt89, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2Thats gotta be the coolest Gamecube ever.....
- MaxwellTD, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3I'm loving the taped on A button
- shinynew, on 10/12/2007, -7/+5we got it... gaylord.
- LegendarySock, on 10/12/2007, -6/+4Its for emphasis, buddy.
- idonthack, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1wtf this story is so old. i cant believe it made front page.
- rwinograd, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1I know people hate when users call dupe on something... but how does this keep getting to the front page? I swear this is the fourth time I've seen these pictures. Do people not check stories at all when they submit them?
- ronh, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0Digg up for "shinynew" because I have not heard the word gaylord since grade school.
- MSTK, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1Old.
- Alegis, on 10/12/2007, -7/+2Delicious copypasta
- Zarsk, on 10/12/2007, -8/+2Once you go black you go deaf....
