PETA using Nintento characters to fight KFC
kentuckyfriedcruelty.com — I wonder if this is authorized? Mario chicks and buckets of blood, FTW.
- 1096 diggs
- digg it
- ApokalypseNow, on 10/10/2007, -25/+254It would seem that "cruelty", the secret ingredient as claimed by PETA, is one of the most delicious things on the face of the earth.
- Terr01, on 10/10/2007, -16/+7When I saw this, I immediately thought of this comic. Sure, it's not strictly Nintendo corp. characters, but...
http://www.vgcats.com/comics/?strip_id=97- Salzar, on 10/10/2007, -18/+2who is nintento?
- JaXaL, on 10/10/2007, -3/+2ITs a game consol and this is nothing but propaganda.... if u dont like KFC then dont go and buy it...
- Gir53457, on 10/10/2007, -22/+75Shut up and eat your expensive organic bland veggies like a good eco-terrorist pussy.
- keepinithamsta, on 10/10/2007, -9/+3I put cook my green beans with bacon.
- DocHoliday22, on 10/10/2007, -5/+8"KFC suppliers cram birds into huge waste-filled factories, breed and drug them to grow so large that they can’t even walk, and often break their wings and legs. At slaughter, the birds’ throats are slit and they are dropped into tanks of scalding-hot water—often while they are still conscious."
- jsmith39, on 10/10/2007, -5/+16So that's what makes them taste so damn good.
- gingerchris, on 10/10/2007, -5/+17what would you want them to walk for? If they can walk, they can walk away from me trying to eat them
- shark615, on 10/10/2007, -3/+5If their throats are cut how can they be conscious when they are dropped in the water?
- mattcoady, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2They're sealing in the flavor.
- panzergeist, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1The bird can't feel a damn thing after the throat has been cut. You can cut the damn birds head clean off and it will still run around, but it is already dead and can't feel anything.
- tamarindwolf, on 10/10/2007, -17/+2PETA? where are the naked women?
PICS please.- themastersb, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7They're all natural.... which in most cases is bad.
- snapcase, on 10/10/2007, -8/+57God I hope PETA gets sued.
- ITpolitico, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Maybe somebody should ensure that Nintendo is aware of what those crazies are doing to their flagship franchise. I would love to see Nintendo sue the pants off of PETA.
- slackerbox, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Next they're going to release a Pokemon clone, but with a dog pinning his Michael Vickichu against some street gang thugs and making him learn a lesson about animal cruelty.
- p51d007, on 10/10/2007, -12/+60P.E.T.A.= People Eating Tasty Animals!
- KielKilla, on 10/10/2007, -6/+39or Poorly Educated Teen-aged Activists.
- tamarindwolf, on 10/10/2007, -13/+0Don' t you even think of eating me you *****.
- Rabbethan, on 10/10/2007, -7/+20I call BS. KFC, as someone once said, is to chicken what MTV is to music. I'm more of a Popeye's type of guy.
- saintdesy, on 10/10/2007, -1/+12Yeah, but Popeye's doesn't have the Snacker. Mmm...Snacker.
- Shaflugi, on 10/10/2007, -3/+12KFC is greasy *****, Popeye's is way better.
- terminal157, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Extra crispy isn't all that greasy. Well, relatively speaking. It's still chicken deep fried in grease.
- terminal157, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2double post, woops.
- paperlife, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2All fast food is greasy *****.
- sunshinemonster, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Are you crazy? It's fried chicken deep fried in grease, all of it is greasy and delicious.
- hippykiller, on 10/10/2007, -2/+6I prefer Churches my self.
- audguy, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Ugg talk about greasy! Thats some nasty Sh-it
- mydigga, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Did someone say fried chicken?
- Burn, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3I prefer the fantastic chain we have down here in .au called Oporto. Freaking awesome!
(Not to say I don't love my KFC though :P). - michaelinnotts, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3There is a fried chicken restaurant chain in Ireland called "Hillbilly's". They make the best fried chicken on this Earth, I swear.
- bnoj13, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Chick-fil-A is my personal favorite, over on the east coast. Of course, I've worked there for over a year, so my opinion migt be a bit biased.
- qwickone, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Well if you've worked at a restaurant for a year and you still eat there, that says something good about Chick fil A I guess.
- BrokenBokken, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6It was Lewis Black who said "MTV is to music as KFC is to chicken." Google FTW.
- rodbotic, on 10/10/2007, -4/+31meat is murder!!
mmmm....good tasty murder...... - maglob, on 10/10/2007, -3/+9Does thinking cruelty is the secret ingredient in KFC make PETA members crazy?
No just ignorant, you see your crazy friend never heard of the food chain - DoodleMaster, on 10/10/2007, -4/+8BS burried for suggesting I ***** use internet explorer...(cause my game is running "slow")
- bemenaker, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4I smell a lawsuit!!

- gcnaddict, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Speaking of which, this game would be a nice game to hack. I'd love to use it to build my own mario imitation side scroller.
- MaceSoul, on 10/10/2007, -1/+10I don't think people got it. LOL!
http://www.milkandcookies.com/link/38149/detail/- dacheetah, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2lmfao! That is awesome!
- dacheetah, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7edit: Stupid comment system. Digg this one down.
- djsim, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2That video was chickalicious.
- dacheetah, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2lmfao! That is awesome!
- erniecamacho, on 10/10/2007, -9/+136Nintendo owns the rights to the usage of Mario and Co. How is it NOT blatant copyright infringement? The game is funny, in a bad way, though.
- agrabob, on 10/10/2007, -3/+43Thats what I thought. I don't see a Nintendo logo anywhere, but the Co. Sanders image with horns is great.
I want fried chicken now....- robomixx, on 10/10/2007, -20/+0Eh They probably got permision from them.
- erniecamacho, on 10/10/2007, -4/+49I doubt that Nintendo would approve something like this even if they did agree with PETA's position. It's not good for business.
- bCabulon, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3They show Mario and Luigi holding wiimotes in the intro.
- Atomic1fire, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2they also show toad
- Salgat, on 10/10/2007, -3/+24It might be under the parody free use thingy that protects Robot chicken and YTMND.
- DrSpud, on 10/10/2007, -5/+2That would be fair use. And yes, that is how it's not copyright infringement.
- Toloran, on 10/10/2007, -2/+37This would be the case except parodies/satires have to be parodies/satires of their subject matter. Example: I use McDonalds icons to make fun of McDonalds or use Microsoft Icons to make fun of Microsoft. Both of those examples are legit. This however is using one entities intellectual property to satire/parody/defame a completely different entity.
- terminal157, on 10/10/2007, -1/+15Exactly. The only reason the Nintendo characters are being used is because they are popular and will draw attention and good will - clear violations of copyright law.
- LilJimmyNordin, on 10/10/2007, -2/+14Actually, it's closer to the truth that in this particular case, the Nintendo properties are used without disclaiming unauthorized use, which implies that Nintendo supports the campaign against KFC and, as a corporation, supports PETA. The use of the Mario characters imply an endorsement that Nintendo almost certainly did not authorize. I hope Nintendo is being made aware of this use of their intellectual property in PETA's propaganda because if this IS authorized, many of us will have to rethink our position on Nintendo.
- Philluminati, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3It's not just a parodies/satire is it. They green and red characters are actually called "Mario" and "Luigi".
It's using famous characters to influence children into a hungry, unhealthy cult. WRONG I SAY
- rockforever, on 10/10/2007, -3/+2Wiitis!!! OH NOES!!!
- dacheetah, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Everyone knows it's Nintendenitis
- dinostabOMG, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I think that should be Wiiitis, no?
- shanevendrell, on 10/10/2007, -6/+1As long as they are not selling it, they should be fine.
- shark615, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Not so.
If a company uses your trademark for anything and you fail to sue etc you lose the right to that trademark
- shark615, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Not so.
- CushyL, on 10/10/2007, -2/+7PETA is a huge organization with lawyers and people working for them that are (albeit crazy) not retarded. They had to have consulted Nintendo before they used the characters.
Either that... or it's part of legal satire... as long as they aren't selling the game it is legal. Like that fake Steve Jobs keynote that MadTV did about the iRack (hilarious!). Steve jobs can't sue MadTV, because it's satire, and legally allowed.- xaxxon, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3As Toloran said, you have to be using the trademarked/copywrited items as a parody or satire of themselves. You can use apple products and trademarks to parody Apple, but not, for instance, McDonalds.
- SilentSpyder, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1Huh? Anyway I'm sure they'll hear from Nintendo, I did. A week ago I got a cease and desist for my fanart. "http://www.kennyvelez.com/illustrations.php"
- xaxxon, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3As Toloran said, you have to be using the trademarked/copywrited items as a parody or satire of themselves. You can use apple products and trademarks to parody Apple, but not, for instance, McDonalds.
- sodoh, on 10/10/2007, -3/+6I think you give PETA too much credit. Did you see the Penn and Teller show about PETA? It showed that one of the main people in it takes drugs that keeps her alive. These drugs where used in animal testing that they are protesting against. Also they found they bought huge freezers to store dead animals which during that time they killed more animals then they saved.
There was lots more like how their spokesman for schools actually eats meat and has a criminal record.
PETA are idiots.- Koldkompress, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4I enjoy Penn and Tellers *****, but their stuff is pretty biast. Maybe it's best not to list your credible source as an entertainment show.
- sexybobo, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3what he did say was true MaryBeth Sweetland Is diabetic and uses insulin which was tested on animals
in her own words
"I'm an insulin-dependent diabetic. Twice a day I take synthetically manufactured insulin that still contains some animal products -- and I have no qualms about it ... I'm not going to take the chance of killing myself by not taking insulin. I don't see myself as a hypocrite. I need my life to fight for the rights of animals."
And she is not a hypocrite she is just a person who professes beliefs and opinions that he or she does not hold in order to conceal his or her real feelings or motives.
as far as the animal killing allegations http://www.petakillsanimals.com/ (i know the site is bias but it is mostly true)- Koldkompress, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1I'm not disagreeing with the points that P&T make, a lot of them are pretty good. But as far as their own sources go, a lot of it is anecdotal at best.
[Fantastic episode, the PETA one]
- Koldkompress, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1I'm not disagreeing with the points that P&T make, a lot of them are pretty good. But as far as their own sources go, a lot of it is anecdotal at best.

- MrTeQ, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1"Nintendo Sues PETA" is not a headline that NOA is looking for. I'm sure they'll let it slide.. You have to choose your battles wisely.
- agrabob, on 10/10/2007, -3/+43Thats what I thought. I don't see a Nintendo logo anywhere, but the Co. Sanders image with horns is great.
- MaximusPaynicus, on 10/10/2007, -8/+40Speaking of cruelty... *closes his browser window*
- nixonrichard, on 10/10/2007, -3/+17No kidding, why does the chick move like it's on ice even when it is clearly standing on grass. And WTF with having to press the "up" arrow to jump?!
- championchap, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Haha, ok.. so the controls and physics are a tad messed up there.
But the worst part is that this is one of the best flash Mario clones i've seen.
- championchap, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Haha, ok.. so the controls and physics are a tad messed up there.

- NeoOfTheSith, on 10/10/2007, -3/+13And I have the strangest craving for a Famous Bowl now...
- thenativeraver, on 10/10/2007, -7/+120Oh no!
Pamela Anderson?
She's going to infect the chicken with hepatitis C!!!- Gir53457, on 10/10/2007, -3/+2I'll take the spaghetti.

- MatchStick, on 10/10/2007, -12/+134you know what i hear KFC does to chickens? they COOK them!!!!!
- ShaneApex, on 10/10/2007, -8/+15NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
- DukeMojo, on 10/10/2007, -5/+8Jesus F. Christ, you can't be serious!?
- p51d007, on 10/10/2007, -9/+1No? Really? I thought they sneak up on them, yell BOO which scares them to death......before they cook them.
- terminal157, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2That made no sense.
- tenyearsgone07, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0it clearly made sense... it's obviously sarcasm...what you don't get it?
- terminal157, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2That made no sense.
- Burn, on 10/10/2007, -0/+11I heard they fry them; sometimes in Kentucky :O.
- gwhardyiv, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2Watch the video first so that you understand why these people are complaining, and then make fun of them for missing out on the joys of fried chicken. Seriously, fried chicken is my favorite food, but the footage from the slaughterhouses makes me cringe. They may be socially inept, but these people do have a point to make.
- shark615, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3? They stick the unconsious chickens head in a big fan which kills it immediatly then they stick it in a defeather thingy.
whats the big deal?- jarjarjanks, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1um, no, they dont. try again.
- shark615, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2No? Then what do they do?
I've watched it been done but perhaps I was in the friendsly kill area and missed the torture process by accident. - gwhardyiv, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1@Shark: You're pretty much the reason why I posted my comment. Watch the video first, then make fun.
- shark615, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2dude I have seen them do it in real time no need to you tube
- shark615, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2No? Then what do they do?
- jarjarjanks, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1um, no, they dont. try again.

- luckykpolice, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3I'm from Kentucky, and I would just like to point out that sometimes they don't even cook them.
- mastersquirrel3, on 10/10/2007, -11/+99All this does is make me want to eat some KFC. Also the Colonel looks so awesome in this.
- VtmnR, on 10/10/2007, -3/+2x2
- TonySki, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3I feel the same way. all this game does is make me hungry.
- TonySki, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1.
- DukeMojo, on 10/10/2007, -8/+15I have to admit, that bucket of bloody birds looked mighty appeasing.
- Alex74447, on 10/10/2007, -9/+56http://www.thebestpageintheuniverse.net/c.cgi?u=sponsor
It had to be done...- Sunira, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I was waiting for that to show up! :)
- shark615, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1FUUCK. I am now going to get 0 work done.
thanks a lot *****
- malkir, on 10/10/2007, -10/+44That made me realize just how delicious chicken really is.
- DIGGAGE, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1i just realized i was eating wing street while playing that game lol.
- TheWiseNoob, on 10/10/2007, -10/+3I believe Nintendo does not consider copyright infringement unless you sell whatever you are making.
- nixonrichard, on 10/10/2007, -2/+5. . . or use it in a promotion/advertisement, which is the situation here. Nintendo even once cracked down on personal websites that include Nintendo trademarks (this was a few years ago).
Even if PETA isn't making money, they derive value from the use of Nintendo's copyrighted works.- Gir53457, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2That was a hentai site with Samus as the poster girl.
- TechCF, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1They do, they have taken down sites for using artwork
- nixonrichard, on 10/10/2007, -2/+5. . . or use it in a promotion/advertisement, which is the situation here. Nintendo even once cracked down on personal websites that include Nintendo trademarks (this was a few years ago).
- xyzyx, on 10/10/2007, -2/+10It's hilarious that they put rats in the KFC in world 2.
- thejoker86, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1more hilarious is the rats are your friend lol
- beta1, on 10/10/2007, -3/+1You played past level 1? haha
- mpn401, on 10/10/2007, -12/+6It's a parody, which is fair use in the US IIRC.
- coreyb, on 10/10/2007, -0/+22It is not parody! Parody would be making light of Nintendo or its holdings, this just uses its property to further its efforts.
- SOhp101, on 10/10/2007, -6/+2No, parody is what they did to Colonel Sanders and the Princess. The use of Mario, Luigi, and Toad violates IIRC.
- SOhp101, on 10/10/2007, -1/+19No, parody is what they did to Colonel Sanders and the Princess. The use of Mario, Luigi, and Toad violates IIRC.
- ggnictee, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7it's not a parody of Nintendo though, it's a parody of KFC. Using the characters, theme or even the red hat are IP violations. see Penny Arcade v. American Greeting Cards Inc.
- StatiK69, on 10/10/2007, -10/+5Suddenly I'm hungry for some KFC. Oh, and why am I not surprise Al Sharpton is on the site too? Perhaps he's not worried about the chicken but rather maybe he's upset because of the connection between fried chicken and racists. Was Sanders a slave owner?
- LongLiveRock2, on 06/18/2008, -0/+1No, he was born 50 years after slavery was abolished!
- mattc908, on 10/10/2007, -10/+4If your a smart company that uses meat you dump all the inedible/bad produce on peta's land at night when no ones looking.
- terminal157, on 10/10/2007, -0/+11) Try writing sentences. 2) PETA doesn't have enough land for that to be a good suggestion.
- AnimalFever, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0Too bad all the bad/"inedible" produce is what's actually in those nuggets....
- Diggingspoon, on 10/10/2007, -10/+4It doesn't have to be authorized; parody is fair use
- Macshiba, on 10/10/2007, -13/+12Man, this is retarded. I don't have a problem with PETA, but KFC is ***** good, and I'm going to eat it, and I really don't give a damn if someone thinks it's cruel or not.
- Roger, on 10/10/2007, -11/+2You're a fool.
- Macshiba, on 10/10/2007, -4/+7Yeah, that's what I am by simply liking something and not caring what someone else thinks. Go eat a ***** salad. There's nothing wrong with liking Chicken.
- vbellian, on 10/10/2007, -4/+4Yeah, the only thing better than tortured baby chickens are tortured baby cows!
- Koldkompress, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3Veal makes for a tastier steak!
- terminal157, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1vbellian - actually, I prefer chicken. But I'm up for a burger now and then, thanks.
- bagboyrebel, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1the problem with kfc isn't that you're eating meat, but it's the treatment the animals go through before death. Seriously that game is really educational...
- mistermoxy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3This game is super educational. ***** College! I learned everything I ever needed to know from this game. Like the fact that eating blocks of tofu makes you HUGE like Barry Bonds' head, and KFC is manufacturing colonel-spider-robots. This ***** is way better than school! And it's got Pam Anderson, who's famous for her titties.
- vbellian, on 10/10/2007, -4/+4Yeah, the only thing better than tortured baby chickens are tortured baby cows!
- Macshiba, on 10/10/2007, -4/+7Yeah, that's what I am by simply liking something and not caring what someone else thinks. Go eat a ***** salad. There's nothing wrong with liking Chicken.
- romainechester, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5I don't have a problem with PETA either. Eating at KFC is great. Nothing makes me happier than eating tasty animals. But I have to admit, I'm kinda feeling sorry for the animals. The ones that don't get a quick death that is.
- terminal157, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1PETA wouldn't be satisfied if KFC treated their chickens like little kings and then painlessly euthanized them. I feel bad for the more intelligent animals, like pigs, but if you ever catch my shedding a tear for a chicken please punch me in the face.
- Roger, on 10/10/2007, -11/+2You're a fool.
- CaptShmo, on 10/10/2007, -9/+42PETA is so damn crazy probably they get away with things right and left because nobody wants to deal with them... i hope nintendo finds some reason this is illegal and drops a giant legal THWOMP on them
- KielKilla, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5I love legal thwomps. Maybe they can use the chewbacca defense in reverse somehow in court.
- Daveecee, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6Chances are there will be a legal thwomp, seeing as how I just contacted their legal department. GG PETA.
- whatthefu, on 10/10/2007, -7/+14This reminds me how much I want KFC right now.
- Stuffed07, on 10/10/2007, -5/+7The game is actually kinda cute. lols.
- Sunira, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I played it for a few minutes myself. Hah, it's kinda fun even if I still think KFC chicken is great. :)
- Burn, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1If you ignore the people tell you 'facts' about KFC, then it's actually a game about getting to KFC to eat the chicken that is so good, even little chicks like to eat it!
- Sunira, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I played it for a few minutes myself. Hah, it's kinda fun even if I still think KFC chicken is great. :)

- dazman, on 10/10/2007, -5/+24oh and to those digging me down, perhaps you need to do some research on your beloved PETA.
- Roger, on 10/10/2007, -20/+5I disagree. Throwing paint on a fur coat isn't as bad a torturing millions of animals to death.
(Yes, digg me down 'cus its cool to hate PETA and ignore the fact that animal cruelty is terrible and does exist all around us)- dazman, on 10/10/2007, -4/+21Animal Cruelty IS terrible but if you did your research, you would find that PETA do a GREAT deal more than throw paint on fur.
- tdous, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1Give links! This is the internet and we're all as lazy as each other. I'm sure you're right but gimme some links to go to or I won't bother.

PETA kills animals. A lot of animals. - rune420, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1Euthanasia makes complete sense to me. If it was up to me, all caged animals should be put out of their misery; they don't have a natural habitat or home to go to if they were simply freed.
I don't hate PETA, but they're not exactly my favorite animal rights organization either, for various other reasons. I don't hold the fact that they kill animals instead of caging them up in over packed pens against them though.
- TheFinaleofSeem, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4Yeah, animal cruelty sucks and needs to stop. However, PETA goes a lot further than that and is just nuts and stupid. There are plenty of moderate animal rights groups working to get things done instead of using idiot and attention whore tactics like PETA.
- Koldkompress, on 10/10/2007, -2/+6How come we're cruel for killing ***** and eating it, but if it's a fox or whatever, it's like the circle of ***** life. I'm an animal too. An animal that wants a rare steak.
- rune420, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2A fox doesn't take his prey prisoner, cage him up for his entire life and then eat him.

- choy, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4Yeah we are going to digg you down because you haven't done your research. It's not "cool" to hate PETA - it's just the right thing to do because they're full of *****. They rope dumbass "stars" into supporting them by showing them graphic images and forgetting to tell them the facts. You might want to go out and watch Penn and Tellers "*****" series on PETA. Very eye opening.

- LilJimmyNordin, on 10/10/2007, -2/+8Well, in this game, it appears that he does whatever a spider pig does...
- nissan4l0, on 10/10/2007, -12/+32I am amused by the circumstances of PETA's existence. I guess when upper middle class societies begin to live more and more comfortably, they suddenly start becoming activists for relatively unimportant and meaningless causes. The fact is simple, humans need to eat. There are so many things going on in the world today that affect HUMANS, such as poverty, war, displacement, and disease. Oh well, who cares? As long as the chickens are comfortable before they die
- Weejay, on 10/10/2007, -5/+1Amen brother, amen.
- Roger, on 10/10/2007, -10/+11Humans are supposed to have compassion.
And it isn't simply about eating. Its far easier to feed people without all the cruelty.- jmpeagle, on 10/10/2007, -2/+8we need to stop the use of all pesticides. Instead of killing cockroaches and flies in your home, pick them up and put them outside.
- Cattrin, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3Sad thing is that I actually do this T_T not to protest pesticides or anything. I just don't like squishin bugs. I think it's an ocd thing... every time I see an ant or spider or something, I have to stop whatever I'm doing (yes even at work), pick it up, and put it outside.
While I'm out, I might pick up some kfc though. - injury0314, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1Good for you!!!
I don't squish them just to prevent their innards from staining my floor.
It's just a matter of priorities I guess.
- bCabulon, on 10/10/2007, -6/+3"Its far easier to feed people without all the cruelty." Actually the cruel methods are more efficient and yeild higher profits. The factory farms aren't doing it this way for ***** and giggles.
- choy, on 10/10/2007, -4/+4hehe roger you don't give up do you? The solitary voice for PETA here. Let me guess, you work for them.
- jmpeagle, on 10/10/2007, -2/+8we need to stop the use of all pesticides. Instead of killing cockroaches and flies in your home, pick them up and put them outside.
- gwhardyiv, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Your argument is idiotic. Just because something isn't the biggest problem in the world doesn't mean we shouldn't try to correct it.
When upper middle class societies begin to live more and more comfortably, they become more and more detached from the practices that sustain them. The sterility of the supermarket shields us from the suffering and death that happens on the killing floor. If you aren't ready to kill the animal yourself, maybe you shouldn't be eating meat - that's my opinion. I hunt, I know what it means to take an animal's life, and I think about it when I sit down to a meal. I'm not saying you shouldn't eat meat, but you should consider the fact that something died in order for you to live. Is that really insignificant? - Flummoxer, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1There would be more food if everyone was a vegetarian. I like meat though.
- irvin666, on 10/10/2007, -6/+12Does it make me a bad person that seeing a bloody chicken makes my mouth water?
- SourSlurpee, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1only if it makes me one. :)
- ludditerobot, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0Yes.
- Travelsonic, on 10/10/2007, -9/+29PETA can kiss my ass, as accurate as a pile of dog turds telling you when the world will end.
For one: KFC DOESN'T own slaughter houses, DOESN'T KILL ANIMALS.
Thy have suppliers for that.
If PETA was at all accurate, they would tell them to target the suppliers, to blame the suppliers.- Roger, on 10/10/2007, -6/+9The suppliers get away with it because KFC doesn't care and just wants cheap meat.
- CicadasHymn, on 10/10/2007, -2/+8They want cheap meat so they can compete with all the burger places who are selling more and more patties for lower prices.
Maybe if you wanted to pay $8 for a drumstick when you're just wanting a quick easy lunch or filling dinner, then you can have cruelty free chicken. But since that isn't happening it looks like we're going to get the same tasty chicken as always- Travelsonic, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2What is it about humane treatment of animals that REALLY makes it expensive?
- DaveV, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2So why doesn't PETA go after the suppliers? The reason is simple. They are attention hounds who want to force their ways on others.
- nikkisixx, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1Yeah, like Christians.
- panzergeist, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I would ask where that came from, but I've got a feeling that you were molested by a chicken dressed like a hippie wearing a crucifix when you were younger. That's the only way that comment could have any relation to this thread.
- CicadasHymn, on 10/10/2007, -2/+8They want cheap meat so they can compete with all the burger places who are selling more and more patties for lower prices.
- swoopdog, on 10/10/2007, -8/+3hey Travelsonic Peta knows how KFC operates and if you bothered to read anything other than the title of this you may have known that.
- Koldkompress, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Yeah, because PETA is a bastion of credibility. Those ***** have an agenda, and screw everything in favour of it. They're not credible, they're bitchy little ***** who want to force their lifestyle on other people.
Smells like chicken tonight, chicken tonight, bitches.- gwhardyiv, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1Glad to see we're capable of rational discussion here. BTW, from the smell of your mom's pussy, I'm pretty sure you're having tuna tonight.

- ianzu, on 10/10/2007, -1/+9I on the other hand did read Peta's propaganda. Funny, it actually says that KFC cuts the beaks off of chickens, boils them alive etc. Maybe Swoopdog is the one who needs to read more?
- DaveV, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4But it is so much easier to go after the restaurants because they are so very public.
- Roger, on 10/10/2007, -6/+9The suppliers get away with it because KFC doesn't care and just wants cheap meat.
- natjo1986, on 10/10/2007, -11/+17I say ***** you peta if i want to eat some god damn chicken i'll eat some ***** chicken.

- swoopdog, on 10/10/2007, -3/+6lol
- TheFinaleofSeem, on 10/10/2007, -3/+5Yeah, because the two are perfect equivalents. You're a ***** idiot.
- Roger, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I was making fun of his "if I want to I will" logic you idiot.
- TheFinaleofSeem, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0If I want to eat a lintball, I'll eat a ***** lintball!
Using the same logic doesn't mean you can make a point with it if you're not using a close equivalent. You fail.
- stevedclarke, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Inaccurate. Should read: "Yeah, and if I want to eat some god damn Jews then I'll eat some ***** Jews."
- mistermoxy, on 10/10/2007, -1/+0Strawman and Goodwin. Your blatant disregard for logic makes me want to debeak and scald chickens.
Young man, are you thirsty for chicken?- panzergeist, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Godwin, but yes. I find it humorous that someone invoked Godwin's Law in a thread about PETA, KFC and Nintendo.

Hello, PETA HQ. How may I help you?
This is Jack Thompson. I want my crazy pills back.- ircgoliath, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Speaking of Jack... why isn't he on THIS game's case?
It's clearly targeted at minors while containing blood and descriptions of graphic content!
- ircgoliath, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Speaking of Jack... why isn't he on THIS game's case?
- fiahmon, on 10/10/2007, -4/+10I can understand people being against boiled chicken or baked chicken.
But fried chicken? Whose going to want to join them if their bashing fried chicken? These guys are going to lose popularity very fast.- Pikachelsea, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2I can't understand being against any of it. Who is PETA to tell me what to eat, wear, buy, etc? If animals have rights, then I'm an animal and I have the right to do whatever the F I want. PETA is the most annoying, hypocritical organization on the face of the earth.
- SOhp101, on 10/10/2007, -3/+6No, parody is what they did to Colonel Sanders and the Princess. The use of Mario, Luigi, and Toad violates IIRC.
- ldkronos, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Yes. This is like the case of that something aweful drawing of American McGee's Strawberry Shortcake. The subject of the parody was American McGee's Alice, and Strawberry Shortcake (owned by American Greetings, I think) got innocently drawn into the crossfire. The courts rules it was an inappropriate use of the Strawberry Shortcake characters because they weren't the subject of the parody.
- ldkronos, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Oops.. It was penny arcade, not something awful, that did that. And now that I think about it...I don't know if it actually went too court. They might have just backed down because the law was against them.
- LinkDeath, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0Nope, Gabe and Tycho just backed down because they didn't want to get into all that lawerin' nonsense. They decided to pick their fights and that wasn't one they wanted to fight.
- nstern2, on 10/10/2007, -6/+23What PETA stands for is complete and utter *****. Penn and Teller did a show about them,it basically equated PETA to the NAZIs. Seriously though why would letting every animal out there go free be a good idea? What the ***** am I supposed to do when some stray dog bites me. I can't shoot it cause that is "cruel". What is PETAs answer to that? That is why we have animal control.
- rsklnkv, on 10/10/2007, -6/+2Okay, so PETA is *****. Now what the ***** does a stray dog biting you have to do with KFC (or their suppliers) practices? Animal control!?!
I almost see a Chewbacca Defense here, even though (at least according to many of the comments here from people who have most likely never had to kill an animal to eat [other than perhaps a booger]) the defense has rested, so to speak.
I wonder if anyone here has any info relating to the possible problems of breeding and harvesting chickens the way KFCs contractors do? I mean, would it be better to grow chicken nuggets in a tube with no brains or feathers or tiny (I watched chickens eat each others crap and a cigarette butt growing up) minds as opposed to breeding them and perpetuating healthy, strong chickens? I wonder, because I'm not particularly ridiculous enough the go to KFC, but I buy chicken all the time from sources that are not particularly informative about the process.- terminal157, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Dude was talking about PETA, not KFC. PETA is probably the more topical of the two. What's your problem?
- DaveV, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1How about the fact that PETA was caught taking animals from shelters, no-kill shelters if I am not mistaken, and killing them? Isn't that animal cruelty?
- rsklnkv, on 10/10/2007, -6/+2Okay, so PETA is *****. Now what the ***** does a stray dog biting you have to do with KFC (or their suppliers) practices? Animal control!?!
- motorgrator, on 10/10/2007, -3/+5I had KFC every Tuesday for a year and once a whole week for lunch I love it. In fact I good for some right now, I think I'm having withdrawals.
- terminal157, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1A little tubby there, bucko?
- panzergeist, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1It's rather hard to get fat eating fried chicken only once a week. Or even once a day for just one week. Now, if he ate nothing but fried, fatty foods all the time, that would be a different story.
- ldkronos, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1$1.99 Tuesday Special FTW!

Way to pick the right role model PETA!- stklaw, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5As many turtles as Mario can kill if Mario can kill turtles.
- Cattrin, on 10/10/2007, -1/+11I wonder if Goomba Squishing qualifies as cruelty? Wearing raccoon fur so he can fly, too.
- cesarhaha, on 10/10/2007, -3/+1Did you even ***** play the game or are you just bashing blindly? A mob does beat up mario for squishing the turtles.
- DejectedRobot, on 10/10/2007, -3/+17I hate PETA & PETA2 with a passion. Especially when they target the youth to mindlessly sign up for help. All they do is spread lies. Their whole KFC cruelty campaign comes from a slaughter house in Bangalore, India, where they cruelly tortured the chickens before slaughtering them. Yet they go on and say that this is happening all over the US.

- st3vo, on 10/10/2007, -4/+3Ha, I'm only kidding, I actually have several friends that are vegan myself. Forgive me, I suppose it was just me trying something to post something silly or witty at the moment. The last thing I would want to do is judge someone on their views or beliefs, not very like me. Hope I didn't really hurt yours or anyone else's feelings. Random note, I myself most thoroughly enjoy vegan chocolate oatmeal cookies from Trader Joes and I highly recommend trying them if you haven't already, they are most delectable. Anyway, do take care.

- ggnictee, on 10/10/2007, -0/+30we do need to treat animals humanly. This is important for our own humanity.
however we need to remember, they're just chickens. at the end of the day cooking them doesn't fall into that category.
you can still eat them just be kind to them while they're alive.- vbellian, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2True, I named mine Herbert and knit it a wool sweater so it could be warm as it felt the cold kiss of death

sorry guys thats the best thing i can say right now... - neepster, on 10/10/2007, -18/+13If KFC is actually doing these things, then they should burn in hell forever. Granted we eat the chickens, but that is no reason to torture the things before we do so. Those of you who seem to think this is so funny, you should think about how you'd feel having your nose cut off and then being boiled alive. Sound like fun? I thought not.
- deathtom64, on 10/10/2007, -5/+1eh its not so bad....but i wouldn't call it fun. That would be like calling breathing fun.
- hippykiller, on 10/10/2007, -4/+4You miss one large difference between chickens and humans sir!
- neepster, on 10/10/2007, -3/+4And that is what? Other than the obvious fact that humans are more intelligent? We are more intelligent than dogs and horses and dolphins too.. Does that mean if we want to cut them up while they are still alive and boil them alive it is ok? Of course it isn't... if it were, there would be no such thing as animal cruelty. Animals can feel pain and do not deserve to be tortured. The juvenile fsckwits who responded to most of this are too stupid to see that apparently. Thank God you aren't one of THEIR pets...

- SIRBERUS, on 10/10/2007, -3/+3Apparently you are not familiar with the term "extrapolation". Show me studies on just how "sensitive" their beaks are before I believe they are in as much pain as PETA claims. They lost their credibility with me after they claimed lobsters felt pain only to later be proven false by several studies on the lobster's nervous system (showing that what we interpret as pain is nothing close to what the lobster can biologically "feel").
- jarjarjanks, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1If the lobsters cant "feel" the boiling water, I wonder why it screams when it's dropped in the pot of boiling water...
- SIRBERUS, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Try doing some research before you comment. The "screaming" you hear is the steam/vapor escaping through the shell of the lobster. To a lobster, you are alive one moment, then "sense" something, then you are dead. "Pain" is highly reliant on the sophistication of the nervous system an animal has. Do you also believe ants feel pain?

- lovingkind, on 10/10/2007, -3/+6I didn't grow up on a farm but we butchered our own chickens ducks turkeys and sheep. I still hunt birds, fish and eat meat and even though they can be extreme, I have to agree with Peta regarding KFC and the horrible cruelty chickens experience and of all factory farming. I've seen it first hand and It's disgusting filthy and a shameful way to treat animals. Since seeing that 4 years ago, I vowed to never eat at KFC or buy factory farmed animals again. Native Americans have a healthy way of treating nature and mine is similar. Too bad more dont see it this way IMO.
- Travelsonic, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I wonder, what is it about humanity that makes it expensive?
- SourSlurpee, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Yes... Eat into PETA's lies.
good boy...
