- Insert31990, on 10/12/2007, -2/+28Enough. But the Wii desirves it.
Innovation, technology.
It's what Digg is about, and here, Wii is king.
Bring them on. - SkeletaLlama, on 10/12/2007, -1/+18As many as there are stories to be told about the Wii, new tidbits of info, breaking news, reviews, hands-on impressions, rumors, pricing speculation, release dates and press releases. If you don't like the articles don't read them. I don't go into comment sections of articles I'm not interested in and tell them off for being interested in things I'm not, that would be stupid.

- petro62, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6If there were a ton of stories coming out on Vista they would be here or how about the pirate bay stories. It just depends on what information is out there and what people grab onto. Right now lots of people are really excited about the Wii. Just like there are lots of stories being posted about bad Sony and the PS3. I never understood why people would complain about there being too much info on here. Skip over them if you don't like them, but don't bash the fact that people are trying to pass along as much information as they can. That is what the internet is mostly for now is information.
- black|math, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7It doesn't look too bad considering its meant to be functional from 2 different angles. And as far as ergonomics goes, I don't know because (like over 95% of the people here) I haven't touched it. But I imagine that if it were terrible we would hear about it. And considering Nintendo's track record for controllers (NES excluded), it shouldn't be too uncomfortable.
- jonshipman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Last time I checked the Wii HAD USB ports...
- TheSite2, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Really interesting to see different prototypes. Watching the controller go from last years design with the clunky plug for the add-ons to the newest was interesting enough. I'm happy with their decision, i don't see any other ones i like.
- Daedalus81, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Ahh the ever so clever Sony fanboy disguising their motive by calling rational people Nintendo fanboys, brilliant!
- CaptainWeasel, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5We don't care.

- Daedalus81, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3"Plus NOJ has their NOA puppet Reggie to get on stage, say something dumb, just so Miyamoto can get up and say the opposite to make himself look smart and the NOA branch look like fools. But I've seen this behavior out of Japanese game companies for a long time- they sued to have a policy of "only Japanese employees get credit for work" meaning American branch employees got shafted."
Can you cite evidence?
You seem too much like a bigot to bother arguing anything else...
"Oh yeah, it's not "WE", it's "WHY"."
Why as in : why are you so insane? - mtvkilledusall, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I don't think anyone's made it to my block list that fast.
Congratulations! - mark925, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The Wii does have 2 USB ports on the back.
- ccanni1028, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Is that supposed to be a button inside the D-Pad on the 2nd prototype (far right image)?
What are the buttons at the bottom supposed to be? - vtwin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2"Japan is running out of creativity"
Stupidest comment ever... - dharm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2after looking at these, just reminded me of using my ps2 dvd remote once to play a game. It had a directional pad as well as action buttons (like most). Anyways, it was weird playing the game using a remote.
- green67, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4...looks like Nintendo committed to the "wand" style controller a while ago...MS and Sony could use thinking like that in their R&D dept's.
- ij00mini, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1could they be lights?
- dharm, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2usb controller adapters do exist, and have been available for along while (for any console/controller)
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2a remote that won't be used to play movies and such...
- ccanni1028, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I am waiting for someone to make an adapter for hooking the original NES controller up to the Wii extension port. That would be fun.
- Daedalus81, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Games like Soul Caliber or SSB will end up using a standard controller anyway so I fail to see a point...
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1The guys at IGN who played monkey ball said their wrists were in agony after one hours play.
Its like when I bought the pistol for shooting games, it was cool, it was fun but for anyone who plays games more than 45 mins a day it becomes a burden.
Just watch any gamer, walk in any developers QC department and watch how people play games, most people end up resting an arm on a leg, table or fat belly.
As someone said earlier NONE of you have used it for any length of time, and understanding the competitive nature of gamers is a game can be played "better" with a standard controller (think soul caliber) eventually the players will use the standard controller....especially online where its all about "winning".
Time will tell. - qwe89, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1just decide already!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0some of the Wii remote prototype's in colors: http://uploaddump.nl/uploads/kkqwpacakwkca-19.JPG
- SageofLightning, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The squares on the bottom are the 1st player, 2nd player, ect indicators.
- murcielagossi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0those are just drawings of prototypes... here's a actual picture of the supposed final prototype.
http://www.engadget.com/2006/05/10/nintendos-final-wii-controller-what-we-know/ - reversEngineer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It would nice to see a full compilation of Wii's features definetly known to this point. Does anybody know a link to a reliable source for this?
- inquis1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It has USB and Gamecube controller ports.
- Frinkahedron, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2Too bad there's no dates on the images other than E32006 and TGS2005, it'd be nice to see how long they've been at it.
- KAMiKAZOW, on 10/12/2007, -6/+5Cool, thanks. In case even duggmirror dies, I printed the important parts into a PDF file: http://rapidshare.de/files/22225882/Wiimotes.pdf.html
- Johnny1337h4x0r, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3gxcdesign. Could you please explain to us the point of your comment? The only thing it did was just show us how big of an idiot you are. All 4 of those technologies have news coming out all the time, why shouldn't the news get on digg. Obviously if 1000 people think that the story should be on the front page, it should be on the front page. We could see great news again about ubuntu tomorrow, but alas the comments are going to be filled by idiots like you who have nothing better to do other than pointing out that it's a duplicate story or that there was/were completely different news about the product the day before. At least we can now block users and not see any of their crap.
(to block someone click on the square to the right of the user's name, the one with the crossed out circle) - pkmugg, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Yeah I was thinking someone could release all the retro controllers and plug them into the gamecube controller ports. Hopefully nintendo or a good third party like Hori would make them. Hori did a good job with the gameboy player controller.
- SkeletaLlama, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2Thanks!
- Elxx, on 10/12/2007, -8/+5I'm happy about the Wii stories, it seems they have replaced the influx of pointless Apple garbage. Yay for *true* innovation!
- ccanni1028, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1Last time I checked, the Wii didn't have USB ports on it. As I said, "adapter for hooking the original NES controller up to the Wii extension port." it would be connecting it to the Wiimote so you could play the original games with the original controller. You could also probably use the old light gun that way for Duck Hunt and FPS games instead of the new one.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -11/+3Please please PLEASE tell me that I'm not the only one who thinks that, while the functionality may be really nice with what this thing is capable of, the external design of this controller is ridiculously ugly and un-ergonomic.
- DeadsideLegion, on 10/12/2007, -13/+1Oh yeah, it's not "WE", it's "WHY". As in, "why did they come up with such stupid *****?" and "why do people blindly kiss its ass?"
Hell, I get the feeling Miyamoto's kid came up with the damn name and now everyone has to like it. Plus NOJ has their NOA puppet Reggie to get on stage, say something dumb, just so Miyamoto can get up and say the opposite to make himself look smart and the NOA branch look like fools. But I've seen this behavior out of Japanese game companies for a long time- they sued to have a policy of "only Japanese employees get credit for work" meaning American branch employees got shafted.
Perhaps this is why 95% of RPGs are the exact same game over and over and Japan is incapable of making a FPS. Japan is running out of creativity. But they've probably been pissed since some hole-in-the-wall game company from Texas had a runaway hit with Doom and proved that American game companies can compete. Then again, we created Max Payne, they still have Kojima's anti-American viewpoint soldier "Solid Snake"(who was just a lame Snake Plissken knockoff). - pathy, on 10/12/2007, -13/+01000/23.8
- DeadsideLegion, on 10/12/2007, -13/+0Wrap it in whatever package you like, motion sensitive controllers are still crap. People who DON'T WANT TO PLAY VIDEOGAMES still aren't going to play videogames regardless. Nintendo just wants to make systems that people can't write emulators for.
And the Nintendogs, the mindless fanboys, will 100% support any decision made without question. Consumers have sold their soul.
Really, these "motion controllers" are *****! Yeah, swing it to play a baseball game... or, you know, go outside and play a real game. But nah, why do things that encourage an active lifestyle when you can blindly support a soulless corporation instead.
I will never buy a motion controller system. Buttons forever and if you don't like it, ***** off. I'm not a blind consumer whore and if a company makes *****, I don't but it. I don't support any company, let them go out of business if they make some lame product I hate. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -20/+6I agree...site should be called: WiiPodubuntujax
- wonderboy, on 10/12/2007, -34/+4How many more thousands of wii stories will wii here about on digg?

What is Digg?
