- joehobbes, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16Hopefully, they make more Pink ones.
My wife wants one (so I can actually use my white one), but I don't want to pay $200 on eBay for a special color.
BTW, you may want to keep Clubhouse Games away from your significant other if you ever want to see your DS in your own hands again.
There is WAY too much time-burning action in that little game card. - Saiing, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8If you think it's in demand in the US, you wouldn't believe what it's like in Japan.
I went into a big electronics retailer, Bic Camera today (I live in northern Japan) to see a group of sales staff cordoning off an area of the shop. A couple of the staff were holding large signs saying (in Japanese) "Nintendo DS line starts here". I asked one of the staff what was going on, and they said that they were expecting a shipment from Nintendo around late-afternoon. Bear in mind this was early-morning. I mean this is insane. People queueing for 5 or 6 hours, and it's NOT EVEN A LAUNCH. The damn thing has been out here for the best part of a year. There were already about 30 people in the queue. Incredible. Thank God I already bought one a few months ago. - thomasprebble, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9Maybe this would be a good time to sell my PSP and get in on the action!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Super mario 64, Brain age, elite beat Agents. DS is great
- jman8888, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Just got a new Ds for cristmas New Super mario is awesome!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8I wish they would make more Wiis...
But good for Nintendo...they think outside the box and just fall into success. - bigtrouble77, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7I've been trying to get one since the 26th. Nobody in NJ has one. All the gamestops are saying late january at the earliest. Anyone know where else I can go? Even the online retailers are out.
- ch28kid, on 10/12/2007, -1/+735 million DS sold already..
I'm not surprise with all the kickass title like
FF3
Mario Kart DS
Tetris
Super Mario
Its amazing how Nintendo can remake a old game and become more popular.
Not surprise, not surprise. - aegis9975, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6I'd add Nintendo's Clubhouse games since its so underrated and over-looked.
Really, it appeals to everyone since it has 42-casual games (Chess, checkers, solitare, battleship, mahjong, cardgames, bowling, pool, darts). Perfect game for non-gamers and gamers alike.

- enforcerpsu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I still have the DS phat. Love it and probably won't go to the lite unless my current DS breaks. I have to admit the DS has way better games than I thought it would and play it almost as much as my current consoles.
- Ravenlock, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Well done, Nintendo. :-D The DS Lite may be my favorite console ever, Wii included. (Though the Wii hasn't really had a fair chance yet) So many good games available at affordable prices. It got to the point where I was playing DS games enough that I cancelled my World of Warcraft account because I wasn't playing that enough to justify the monthly fee.
- motang, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5not to mention New Super Mario, Club House games, Castlevania series. Yeah the system has some really good games on it!
- unixdotseth, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I got a black ds for christmas, its okay, I bought the first ds when it came out , but it was way to big, so I returned it, then I bought a psp, two years later I finally bought another ds, let me tell u it has gotten a lot better!!!
I can fit my ds in my pocket now!!!, I also got Final Fantasy 3,and Metroid Prime for it., gotta say great system over all. - I82Much, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I have had no luck finding any DS Lites in any of the stores I've been to recently. I saw a ds lite onyx for sale back where I go to college, but I didn't know supply was so restricted or I would have snapped it up when I had the chance.
- basye, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Thankfully our kids placed their orders with "Santa" early just before Thanksgiving, I ordered 1 pink, 1 white and a black from Costco. Soon they were out, especially the black was hard to find. They can't seem to put them down--last night we had fun watching the New Year's Eve countdown to fireworks on Animal Crossing. I swear those animals are hypnotizing my daughter subliminally.
- Gerz1219, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7Not surprising. The DS Lite is pretty much the best portable system ever created, and it carries the advantage of having an older, blocky model which early adopters had to upgrade, as well as being very easy to lose on the subway. Sony had to count on massive PS2 hardware failure rates in order to get people to repurchase them.
- HydraulicToast, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I'm having the same problem with not being able to find them. No one has them. I'm also curious to know why circuit city up and decided to stop carrying them. What happened there I wonder?
- theone3, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3We all love your awesome man! Could you lend me some? Awesome!
- Kingfish1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I've had my DS Lite for about five months now, and I love the system. My favorite games for it so far have been: Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney, Mario Kart DS, and Warioware: Touched. It's a great portable system and a good buy if you can get your hands on one. The supply has been pretty short as of late, but if this story is true, the problem should soon be solved.
- Drake250, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3*Thanks Nintendo*
I've been searching for a Black DS Lite for a little less than a month died. My original launch DS decided it would be best to die during the holidays just so I couldn't find a replacement. Hopefully now DS Lites won't be as hard to find as Wiis. - herogear, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Nintendo hit a market no one has tried yet (people who don't play games) and it's paying off. My only hope is other console makers and developers get the hint and follow on the trend.
- Rohkd, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Hopefully i might be able to find one now...
- lazyrussian, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I was just in Gamestop in N.E. Philly - Bought myself a Gameboy Color and two Zelda games (seasons and ages) for $25 (total for everything :)]
Gamestops here had a lot of DS Lites selling for $129, brand new, and $89 Used (I was there after Christmas) - burnblue, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Where's the boost to Wii production anywhere? I'm in the US. I still want a Wii. Enough people have DSs, dammit.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Darn you and your foreign ways of using a comma instead of a period!!! Just kidding I love your awesome.
- MehYam, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Curses, *you're* the reason I wasn't been able to get a DS lite to play during my time off last week. Fry's, Target, Walmart, Circuit City, Amazon, and anywhere else I could think of was completely sold out after 12/24.
If it wasn't for all those numerous PS3 boxes in my way, maybe I'd have been quick enough to get one... - zman8479, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2@bigtrouble - I was able to get one on Amazon, just got lucky on a page refresh. Now that holidays are over you may have a bit less competition, but based on what people are saying here, it will still be tough to get.
- sephiroth965, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2@Bigtrouble:
I'm having the same problem here in NJ. Noone has any and they say they won't get more till late Jan. because there is a shortage in Japan. - jackrum, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2My wife finally decided she wanted one a few days ago. Here in Knoxville,TN we went to 7 stores, Best Buy, Circuit City, EBgames, Gamestop, WalMart, Target, another Gamestop, before FINALLY getting a factory sealed, JUST returned (within 5 minutes) DS Lite in white at another EBGames. Having strolled into Circuit City and bought mine 3 months ago, I never expected that level of difficulty. WalMart and Target usually have at least 5-10 on display.... Looks like the holidays really boosted sales. I know one guy who even sold his PSP and 6 games for $125 just to get a DS..... Nintendo fanboys FTW!
- BarryChuckle, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Where's the boost to Wii production for europe?
- bunni, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'm holding my cash for the US release of the Opera DS Lite web browser.
- muaddib420, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2i believe it. i bought four DS lites in the past month. three for presents for the kiddies and one for myself so i can play yoshi's island DS. that game brings back memories!
- TheBlackNinja, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Holy ***** *****, glad I got mine.
And it matches my Wii. Really, it looks cool to me seeing them together, boxes aswell. - Lightwarrior, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0After I sent my rockets into the sky I n e e d e d to have a look at Animal Crossing for the Fireworks there.
I showed it to my friends - with a huge grin on my face - and got comments like "..a man with a child inside.." :D
I´m now 31 and this little game really is eating my time ;-) The DS rocks ! And to play Poker or Bowling at 03:00 a.m. with someone on the other side of the world (Clubhouse Games !!!) is excellent ! My favourite titles at the moment are:
Animal Crossing
Clubhouse Games
Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney
Brain Age
Project Rub
Another Code - efexor21, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0yes we got some good performance with DS on trendio lately http://www.trendio.com/word.php?wordid=476&language=en they're not out of the game yet
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -8/+4The very fact that I have a Wii (since day one, btw) makes me extremely interested in buying a DS as a peripheral to the Wii. I never would have considered buying a DS before I bought my Wii.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -6/+0meant to reply, digg down
- JayD16, on 10/12/2007, -14/+1Sadly unless you have Pokemon I don't think theres a point. Not until Zelda: The 64 swords.
