New Call Of Duty 3 Maps Are Released 100% Non-Functioning
2old2play.com — Its seems as though gamers who download the new Valor Map Pack for the Xbox 360 are in for a surprise. None of the maps work. Once you pay your money, download the map pack, and boot up the game you will find that none of the new maps are even available at the map selection menu. After a buddy start for both COD2 and COD3, gamers are fed up.

- oldtimegamer, on 10/12/2007, -6/+13Wow, TreyArch screws it up again. I can't believe people are still buying this franchise after so many screw ups. Yikes.
- kcpwnsgman, on 10/12/2007, -4/+18Well, there were no screw ups on the PC versions of the games, it was only with the console versions, they can't seem to get it right...
- steve693, on 10/12/2007, -0/+18The PC versions of Call of Duty have always been developed by Infinity Ward (Former EA Games Members of Allied Assault fame).
- CyberGhost, on 10/12/2007, -4/+7Infinity Ward screwed up too, they sold out to Billy
Call of Duty 1 is easily one of the best WWII FPS online games EVER!
Cod2 was nothing but ***** though..... all the feeling from cod1 is gone, the game has no soul to it. - SilverStar830, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8If EA can do it with their years worth of the Battlefield series, with the same crappy product quality resulting in the same hollow threats of boycott, lawsuits, blah blah blah, and then still make millions off the suckers out there... why can't the COD series?
One of these days people will actually do something about it and stop buying these developers titles, for real, and once those software companies start to tank, maybe we'll all stop being treated like crap by these companies.
/wishful thinking - digg-dugg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7@steve.
-- CoD1 & CoD2 were both developed by Infinity Ward, whereas Cod3 was developed by Treyarch; goes for both PC & console.
Treyarch is a piece of ***** and has a contract with activision to develop all further odd numbered sequels of the CoD series, alowing Infinity Ward more time to develop their even numbered sequels for the franchise.
@CyberGhost
-- Noone has any problems with CoD 1 & 2 which are incredible games (apart from early online issues which were resolved). The problem lies soley in Treyarchs effort in the series, not in Activision, who is only producing the games. My advice would be to ignore the odd numbered (CoD 3, 5...) and buy the evens (CoD 4, 6...). Infinity Ward is currently developing what will be a Modern combat version of the game for the 4th CoD. - funkychikensays, on 10/12/2007, -5/+3the maps were free..
- Padwah, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2@ funkychikensays
There is a single free map that anyone can download, Champs, but that's not the issue. People are having problems with the map pack that was released that costs real money so they are understandably upset.
- BadBug, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Some problem happened with the maps for COD2, but was an easy fix at the time. I did not plan to download anyway. Found COD3 online to be desapointing.
- SSCrow, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6thats sad to hear.
All the maps I dled for CoD2 on the X360 worked.
But I find that the Multiplayer is much better on the PC. (they slowed down the game on the console)
- SSCrow, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6thats sad to hear.
- RoadDoggFL, on 10/12/2007, -22/+3The maps were free anyway. I don't have either COD for 360 but I downloaded the pack now just in case (already missed out on poker, won't make that mistake twice).
- oldtimegamer, on 10/12/2007, -3/+13Actually no they're NOT free. There is ONE free map called Champs, but that has nothing to do with the Valor Map Pack which actually costs money.
- RoadDoggFL, on 10/12/2007, -17/+2Oh, OK then I GUESS I'll HAVE to keep that in MIND in the FUTURE. My BAD.
- kylesellers, on 10/12/2007, -4/+23Buddy start? What the hell does that mean?
- doodirock2, on 10/12/2007, -6/+7should have been budding. Sorry I didnt proof it.
- Thuktun, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10That's the problem with spell-checkers. Most don't understand context and don't complain about valid words used in the wrong place.
On the other hand, grammar-checkers like the one in Microsoft Word understand grammar only slightly better than the average MySpace user. - SamsLembas, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Wait- The Microsoft Word grammar checker actually does something? I thought it just went off on random parts of the text.
- kylesellers, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Digg's spellchecker is exceptionally bad. It doesn't recognize Playstation, Wii, blog, blogger, Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo, woot, xbox, etc. If you consider the nature of the site, that's a bit silly.
- SamsLembas, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Does anyone actually use Digg's spell checker anyways? Don't all civilized browsers have one built in?
- reticulate, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Sentence fragmented. Consider revising?
- mojorojoe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+19TreyArch has since apologized and said that EA told them to do it..just go ahead and do it..nobody will know.
- inpHilltr8r, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Presumably when you say EA, you actually mean Activision.
- Cl1mh4224rd, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Wtf... Wrong thread. Digg down.
- Demq, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1did they say the maps should work ? ^^
- Sabin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Reminds me of what happened with Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory a couple years ago.
- MackPrime, on 10/12/2007, -9/+11people are talking about Suing on the forums and *****. Bunch of dicks have to learn to be patient instead of threatening lawsuits at the drop of a hat.
- yournamehere, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5If this was any other company I would agree but EA is historically pushing crap out before it's done.
- Cl1mh4224rd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Why the hell should anyone be expected to pay for something that doesn't work, with the hope that it will work at some unspecified point in the future? *Especially* when what they paid for was *expected* to be working "now"...
- gamerzworld, on 10/12/2007, -15/+14Does any one check their spelling? It's not called the Valor map pack! It's called the Vapor map pack!
- DryvBy, on 10/12/2007, -12/+2Apparently not. Looks like they're too busy posting comments on subjects they know nuttin' about.
- oldtimegamer, on 10/12/2007, -6/+8Um actually it is. At least that is what Activation calls it in their press release.
http://www.xbox.com/en-US/live/marketplace/callofduty3/mappacks.htm
Then again, they could be wrong. I mean, they only publish the game. Noob - AntBing, on 10/12/2007, -4/+9you sir, are a moron.
- ballpeenhammer, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8oldtimegamer, did that one just fly right over your head or what?
Maybe your comment flew over mine.
You see vapor can mean insubstantial or lacking subs.... never mind. - gamerzworld, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9I guess no one gets a joke........
- kylesellers, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8I thought it was funny.
- Bobalobabingbon, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4I dugg you down, then it hit me, sorry, pretty funny.
- ForlornHope, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Gamerzworld, you're a scholar and a gentleman. It took me about five seconds to get it. You're still going to get dugg down to hell (once people see that a comment has negative diggs, the pile-on effect occurs big time), but I salute you anyway.
- i64X, on 10/12/2007, -11/+2I hate EA with a passion. I've vowed never go buy another EA game EVER again after the HORRENDOUS frame rate issues I have on Need for Speed Carbon for the 360, and the issues I had with Carbon for the PSP (the track will just *disappear* and it will only draw the background - causing you to slam in to invisible walls because you can't see the turns). Both of these problems can be see after playing the game for less than 5 minutes or so, so it's not like quality control could have missed either.
Screw you EA.- teh1337d0t, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8And what exactly does EA have to do with TreyArch / COD Series?
- thecray, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Add Activision to your list, since they actually publish this game.
- Bobalobabingbon, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Funny, I have no problems with NFS: Carbon on my PS3
Commence down digging!! - kylesellers, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2You also don't have nearly as good lighting effects on the PS3 (trust me, I GameFlyed both the 360 version and PS3 version and switched back and forth). As for the 360 version, I have not had a problem w/ the framerate. It's occasionally bad, but only when there is alot on screen.
- benlong, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4COD2 was just fine. People who had problems with COD2 have other problems also. =o)
- HappyScrappy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1COD2 had lag problems and problems starting games. A patch was issued to fix this.
It didn't fix that many of the maps in COD2 were designed for 32 players, and the Xbox 360 version only allows 8 players in a game.
- HappyScrappy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1COD2 had lag problems and problems starting games. A patch was issued to fix this.
- Megatog615, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3According to EA, this isn't a problem. They'll issue a "fix" pretty soon, but make sure you have enough points for that too!
- Sakumi, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I don't purchase games that have additional offerings online. I don't feel like being nickel and dimed to death so I just stick to titles that sell you the game.. on the disk (amazing concept really).
- ruded0g, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2You mean Activision EA has nothing to do with CoD.
Activision publishes the Call of Duty franchise and CoD2 for the PC still has it's share of issues (check sum) with custom maps..... - gincarnated, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Oh boy, thank god this wasn't happening on a Sony exclusive or all hell would have broken loose.
- kylesellers, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Are you kidding, there IS NO MULTIPLAYER FOR CALL OF DUTY 3 ON PS3!!
This would be incredibly exciting news for them! - apoc06, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2no multiplayer on the ps3 version? so what have i been playing on then?
- apoc06, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3ps3 multiplayer for CoD3 -> http://ps3.ign.com/articles/746/746533p2.html
"The game's online modes are entertaining too -- with multiple character classes and modes like deathmatch, team deathmatch, capture the flag and a handful of others ready for invasion. Having put in considerable time on public servers, we can tell you that it runs super smooth even when all 24 supported players are firing away at once and the maps, while limited in number, are large and well-balanced."
- kylesellers, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Are you kidding, there IS NO MULTIPLAYER FOR CALL OF DUTY 3 ON PS3!!
- SuperCUBE, on 10/12/2007, -5/+7Well, The Wii's new maps are wor... oh, there weren't any downloadable maps. That's right.
- NipGrip, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4You managed to turn a stupid situation on the 360 into a Wii bash, I congratulate you.
- SuperCUBE, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3I own a Wii, too. What does that tell you?
- zzzzbest, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I think it's more of a bash on the Wii version of COD3. Because it does in fact suck.
- enforcerpsu, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2meh, its not too bad. I played it and of course the textures and effects aren't nearly as good (vs 360) but I did enjoy using the Wiimote as the gun. I don't play CoD for the online experience because I have about 20 different games I already play online and don't need ANOTHER WW2 / Counter Strike experience. I got the Wii version because I wanted to try some new gameplay and honestly I found it to be very enjoyable. Not the most incredible experience but definitely very playable.
