- czimmerman, on 10/12/2007, -3/+28Apparently you weren't alive in the 80's-90's...
- Angmar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16"yeah, i already bought my extra wiimotes. Why couldnt they let us in on that little detail earlier.
That has been the deal since Wii Play was announced. - surian, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14dear god, can someone PLEASE ban itchye already?
- Forever-Zero, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13I amazes me how people insult each other over which video game system the other owns. Why exactly does anyone care what game system someone else plays? You like a company? Good for you, buy their products. Not everyone else has to.
- tidu, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12I can't wait to play some
HOTEL DUSK
Room 215 - Elranzer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10itchye? Who's itchye? ;-)
- evelian, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8It's not available in the US yet, that's the big deal.
- kickcows, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6i can't WAIT for Final Fantasy: VI :)
- kevspace, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Wii Play hasn't been released in the United States yet.
- trixnfx, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Final_Fantasy
Sakaguchi had plans to retire after the completion of the project so he named it Final Fantasy because it was his final game, although it was also going to be Square's final game. It's commonly believed that the game was named Final Fantasy because of Square and not Sakaguchi, although Sakaguchi himself has confirmed it was named because of his plans for retirement. - straxus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Block him. I promise you won't miss anything important by doing so. :D
- camuk19, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7Good to see some old school Nintendo game boxart! (Mario Party)
- CJz44, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4No, Wii-Sports came inside the box with the Wii and I bought Wii-Play and the controller seperately. I live in New Zealand and didn't know the US doesn't have Wii-Play yet.
- Nick22, on 10/12/2007, -7/+11Yay boxarts for news.....
- CJz44, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Oh I see now... My cover for it looks different to that. If you want to see a picture of the box they come in together or the cover of the case I can upload a picture of them.
- ThankTheCheese, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4you haven't missed much. Wii play blows chunks IMO.
btw, they may say it's "wii play with free wii remote", but it's the other way around. Wii remote is worth 50x more than wii play. - buddylee415, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Bring on Mario Party, Wario, and Wii Play
- Elranzer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3The character is Terra (Tina) and based on the original Amano artwork. FF6A, like the others, looks the same as the SNES version with the menus formatted better for a smaller screen. There is a new dungeon that splits you into three groups like Kefka's Tower, new super-boss along with the previously-removed super-boss (Czar Dragon), and new Esper summons which include Leviathan and Gilgamesh.
- contradictator, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3That's prolly Celes on the boxart, looks more like her than Terra.
And I really hope they haven't made any negative changes. Updated graphics/sound? Great! Censoring/dumbing down the story? Not so much. - choopie911, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Free wiimote with wiiplay?
- ericeman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Wii-Play is not Wii-Sports if that's what you're thinking.
And if your from a foreign country that already has Wii-Play (I don't know what packages other countries offered... maybe you're confused because of this) in America Wii-Play has yet to come out and will be sold separately and will include an extra Wii-Mote. - PurpleSfinx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Ping pong doesn't work like Wii Sports Tennis at all. You use the pointing function (like in say, Red Steel) to move your bet around. That's it.
People, I have Wii Play and have played it heaps. DON'T GET TOO EXITED. It's fun, sure, for about 10 minutes. - miggz06, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Diddy kong u will be mine (again)!!
- samdu, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Voice acting in XII is outstanding, actually.
- DarkStalker, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2It's not lame. It's actually quite good.
- NoOnEx, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3i hate to tell you this trixnfx, but i think foxmajik's question was rhetorical...
- stusb, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2wii play is alright, fun mini-games. no real depth to any of them. ping pong is cool though. it came free with a remote.
- matrixclown, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2but whats wrong with linking to random myspace pages on totally unrelated stories? /sarcasm
- DelSolMan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Who's that crazy looking guy with the hat on Mario Party?
- Cyborg771, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Diddy Kong Racing is gonna be AWESOME. I never beat it on the N64 but truth be told it was one of my favorite racing games. More that Mario Kart even.
- coopa, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1With a few people round we've enjoyed Wii Play here, and the way i saw it when i bought it was £25 for the remote, and £5 for wii play. The games are just silly little minigames - target shooting, 'spot the mii', ping pong, position the mii (this one is pretty sucky), laser hockey, fishing, tanks and others i cannot remember right now.
- trib4lmaniac, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The "Tanks!" game (the last one) is easily the best game on the disc. The presentation and game play for that is far superior to the other games.
- twesterm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Why must they tease me with FFVI Advance box art!
And I actually like the cartoony looky Terra. It actually still looks like ***** Amano art. Kind of. - Dr.Gonzo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Hotel Dusk jumps out at you and just begs to be played.
- ij00mini, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Judging from the BoxArt, I hope that WiiPlay Ping-Pong doesn't require the use of the Penhold (or Asian) grip. I like the Shakehand grip better. Hopefully there will be some sort of option to change, or at least not have my play style affect the game.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1> Sakaguchi had plans to retire after the completion of the project so he named it Final Fantasy because...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rhetoric - twesterm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1True. I would gladly give up the flashy graphics and meh voice acting of VII-XII for portable versions.
- TheTjalian, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Wow, it's taken them long enough to release Wario The Thief. Yet another game for the DS! :)
- isage, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4I see a new version of Duck Hunt on the WiiPlay box!
- Orlex, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Would you rather it be released for...nothing?
- twesterm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1True, the voice acting in FFXII is quite good, but X was by far meh. Also, and don't get me wrong, I love FFXII, but the dialog in FFXII just doesn't feel natural. There are small pauses between each line of dialog and it's just annoying. Still, yes, the voice acting in FFXII is very good but I would still rather have a game of FFVI quality or even FFIII and portable.
- Gundampilotspaz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I love it, although I'm such a Final Fantasy 6 Fanboy I'd love anything they do to it as long as I can play it on my DS. (In the GBA slot, but still sweet. Portable RPGs just work)
- thetestament, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Whats with the cartoony looking Terra (I'm just assuming its her) on the FFVI box? They're not changing the art and / or feel of the game, are they?
- iZealot, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1To make the case on Goldeneye for those who care.
Nintendo IS working with Rare and very well with Activision who have made recent games on the latest Nintendo platforms (and own the James Bond License) Also the VC N64 games are $10 so theres money to be sent to every party involved if it gets licensed. Refer to the snipit below.
Release to possibly to combat with Halo and GTA this fall???
http://wii.ign.com/objects/867/867280.html
Reggie was quoted as saying, "Would I love to see [GoldenEye] on virtual console? Absolutely. But there are a lot of issues there. Suffice it to say we would love to see it, so we're exploring all the rights issues."
Some of those issues are whoppers, too. Namely, Activision currently holds the rights to the James Bond license and Microsoft currently own Rare. In order to get ahold of the rights to GoldenEye once again, Nintendo would need to throw down some big dollars or come to some other workable arrangement, beneficial to all involved parties. We hope, for the sake of good gaming, they do. - deporitaz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0That Wario boxart looks pretty ***** intense.
- Orlex, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I imagine the voice acting of XXII is catered more to Japanese, the pauses are likely from having more or less time to deliver a line that would have been shorter or longer in Japanese.
- Orlex, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0that's what I was wondering, Maybe someone they added so they could take another character from the board and make them playable, like they did with Boo?
- stevejanes, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I love the Wario box art! Hotel Dusk looks like a potentially fun game. It's pretty cool how Nintendo is releasing these titles in America as well.
- xxbrighteyed, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0the wii play boxart is terrible compared to the australian one, it loooks really amature.
wii play is pretty terrible guys, it's already out here, if it weren't for the controller that game would be one of the biggest flops of all time. - fober, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1 Boxart?
We talkin' 'bout boxart?
Not a game, not a game... but boxart?
