- petard, on 10/12/2007, -1/+19Yes, there have been ones like that for quite some time.
Check http://dsbackuphomebrew.blogspot.com/
The M5 DS Simply and R4 DS are DS cartridge sized, accept MicroSD and do not need any modification. - petard, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15The M5 and R4 are about $50 and accept microSD, which are about $10 for 1GB. That is a better deal then this one.
- xippilli, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12The M3 DS Simply and EZFlash, both for the DS, are really simple to use, and dont really cost an arm and a leg (unless you decide to buy a bundle). Check it out here http://www.m3adapter.com/ I got mine from modchipstore.com for a decent price.
- Innagadadavida, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9No, you can not play ROM dumps. Datel products are *****. I bought one of their other NDS homebrew carts and it was horrible. You couldn't fast forward movies or songs, it wouldn't even move to the next song when it was finished playing the last one. And of course it didn't play dumps from actual games, only homebrew.
- Griminal, on 10/12/2007, -8/+17Hell. I thought this was about beer.
- NeoTechni, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9No. It's digg, not a jock site
- JOJOFACE, on 10/12/2007, -5/+11Am I to understand that I can just plug this in and use it? No more unscrewing the back plate risking damage to my DS Lite?

Review of the R4DS... only one drawback on all of these is download play wont work if the other DSs aint flashed. Wifi and multicard play are perfect.
If your in the UK check out www.cheapmod.net for "homebrew" DS cards, used them a few times now and a very good site. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5You haven't had to do that for about a year now.
- mrgodai, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.1202 R4 for only $30.64 shipped, except you have to wait 2 weeks for it.
- moglenstar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I just bought a "supercard lite rumble", it's a similar solution to the "m3 ds simply", passme2, and all of the other homebrew devices available, and pretty cheap.

if anybody is interested, that site has great delivery too :) - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Will I be able to copy over my backups to this and be able to play whatever game I choose without having to switch between carts?
- Juntistik, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4This is digg, a tech driven site. If you've been mislead already, you should be prepared for what its going to be next time.
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. - djhworld, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I received my M3 simply over a week ago and have found it to be the perfect solution for my homebrew needs.
This "games and music" thing isn't that revolutionary although it might be a viable solution for those who just want to go to the shops and buy a homebrew kit for their DS. - NeoTechni, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3I prefer the M3 and Passkey3. You can even use the M3 in GBAs
- punkisnotdead, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1
Here is a review of three different homebrew solutions for the DS: the R4, the M3 Simply and the DS Xtreme. Seems like the R4 is a good choice for people who don't want to use up both slots in the machine.
http://portablevideogamer.com/2007/01/guide-how-to-run-homebrew-software-on-your-nintendo-ds/ - Renton, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4I think the revolutionary thing about this one is that you can just walk into a store and buy it. No more ordering online from 3rd party retailers.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@spankaccount
Uh no? It's only a few dollars cheaper than the R4DS. - picto, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Thank you biohzrd...I hate when people think because you enjoy the taste beer, especially the art of homebrewing, that you're automatically a frat-daddy, jock of a douchebag.
And to neotechni, there are more beers in the world than "The Natural" or "Bud Light" (your stereotypical "jock" beer, if you will) and some of us enjoy the taste of a quality brew...so stop being a close-minded asshat. - Ravenlock, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Good for homebrew if that's what you want to use it for - and there is some really nice homebrew stuff for the DS out there.
IF you want it for ROM backups, though - not that you'd do that - I'd go with an M3. I have an old M3 Perfect CF version which still works fine, and now the M3 Simply has made it even easier. None of these solutions require any hardware modification or BIOS overwriting, so it's just a matter of what you want to spend. - voteforpedro36, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Where can I actually get it at not online? I have another one of their products too, and this one could be good if I could get it in-stores in the US...
- QuantumDoja, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This is great, another device to play games made at www.gameweaver.com on :-)
- Nyeguitarist, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0i got it and i already have a problem with it. the mini sd will not go in to the ds card it just bounces back out and its a real pain anyone know how to fix it
- spankaccount, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2This is basically $120 less than whats currently the best home brew card, the DS-Xtreme (which admittedly has 512mb but the Datel card is upgradeable). All I can say is ZOMG!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2Well owning a M3 DS Simply, all you would have to do in theory is copy the DS Simply firmware files to the Datel thing and it should boot roms. If they have that thing in the US I might consider getting one to test it out.
- biohzrd, on 10/12/2007, -5/+3I know very few homemade beer makers (instead of using homebrew) that are jocks. In fact, quite the contrary...believe it or not, making your own beer is an art.
- joltjake, on 10/12/2007, -11/+1finally, a homebrew card for the ds that isn't 120bucks
- picto, on 10/12/2007, -12/+1Anybody else tired of seeing homebrew in the title of an article and mistakingly clicking on it thinking it's about beer?
- joltjake, on 10/12/2007, -30/+4stfu
What is Digg?
