- rherbert, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Uhhh... have you been snowboarding? Because that's how you turn.

Europe: February 23, 2007 - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6It's nice to see actual game characters and not just Mii's. I like the idea of Mii's, but they're just so ugly to look at sometimes. It's just hard to judge graphics in a game when it's obstructed by Mii's being on the screen.
- Pix869, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Too bad I can't buy a wii until Like may....

Oh well, I'm settling for an Xbox 360.
Mario party sure did give me a few good evenings with my friends. - angrynori, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Yay! More minigames!
For the record, I do own a Wii.
I just want some good games.
No more minigames please! - coheedcollapse, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5All of these games were demoed in that video that was released a while ago. I want to see some new stuff. :D
- sleepwalkers, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5The Wii is perfectly suited for the Mario Party series. Hopefully this will inject some much needed freshness into Mario Party.
- chuckpenzone, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Hmmm... I think the minigames are getting played out as well. Not to mention every screen they are showing is of a game already in Monkeyball, no?
- Hatefull, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4I completely agree with you, but I think we'll have to wait a while before we see games that don't gimmick it up by using the motion controller for everything, just like the ds when it first came out, every game implemented the touch screen capabilities, even if they were unnecessary. Don't get me wrong, I really like the Wii controller, I find it very comfortable not having my hands near each other when playing games.

You obviously haven't played rayman with other people. I took my Wii with Rayman to a party and it was a lot of fun. The girls kept wanting to play and loved most of the games. I have to say it's an excellent multi player game with a short yet satisfying single player
Mario Party will also be a lot of fun for, guess what, parties. But it isn't as pick up and play as rayman. A good Mario Party game takes time. - Mega64, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Why do that when you can put online play in Mario Party 9 and get people to buy both?

- isthisnametaken, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2yea seriously. It looks like most (if not all) these games have been covered in Monkey Ball/Wii Sports/Rayman (sometimes 2 or 3 times).
Enough with the minigames! - coheedcollapse, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2It was easy enough on the Target/Best Buy release day. I stupidly waited in line starting at 3:00 am, but people came up at 7:30 (a mere 30 minutes before launch) and got theirs. Also I know two kids that got two on the same day (They went straight from Target to Best Buy).
You just have to keep up on the news. This weekend I hear Wal-Mart is supposed to be receiving 20+ at almost every store. Keep an eye out for that and good luck. - pedro101, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Can't wait to pick this game up.
- aeproberts, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Anyone know the release date?
- EtherGnat, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5"I cut off my ears so mine would be more accurate."
Vincent, is that you? - Tygell, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4I think he's angry that his friends, assuming he has any, are all too busy playing their Wii's to come over and check out his UBER cool PS3.
- nacharya, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2i swear GoNintendo needs a digg it button now. so many stories are coming from them.
- MouseCircus, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Oh, chriskzoo, you pathetic little troll. Are you angry because your latest negative Nintendo article has already been dismissed as inaccurate?
- honds, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I still play Mario party 2 and 3 for the N64 once or twice a month. I alternate the two versions to keep the maps different. Although I think 2 has slightly better mini-games.
- Philodox, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5I played through over half of Rayman on NYE and I can tell you that the game just isn't very good. The first coupe of hours are great then you realize that there aren't that many different levels and even fewer are any fun to play. I think that Rayman was rushed to get it out the door for launch.
- kevinmoore, on 06/13/2009, -2/+3I love the Miis. Mine looks surprisingly like me, except it doesn't have ears.
- afwjam, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1now if I could just find a couple wiimotes so I can play with friends.....
- NevinW11, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1did anyone say PADDLE BATTLE?!
- Jwoey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1this hasn't been my experience lately at all. Wii-motes are fairly commonly available in Austin.. same with nunchuks and classic controllers.
- mostman, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2nintendo.com
- pedro101, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I love Smooth Moves, but I get what you're saying. I think the Wiimote is revolutionary in some games such as Wii Sports, Zelda, and even Madden, but isn't great for other games such as Tony Hawk, Need for Speed, and Smash Bros (I hear the new Smash bros. controls won't have motion sensing).
- MemoryDump, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3now if I could find somewhere to actually "buy" a Wii I'd be very happy!
(not doing the eBay thing) - mthanded, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I suggest picking up madden, and warioware. They both make very good use of the wiimote and still have my friends and I playing way too late into the night. But I agree that rayman got old very quick.
- DelSolMan, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Toadette FTW!
- MrSidnet, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1If I see any more jump rope minigames, I'm going to carve out my eye with a spoon.
- dggeek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"nintendo.com"
From Nintendo's online store:
"Due to continued high volume of orders for many parts, standard processing times and shipments may be delayed."
I can't even find Wiimotes on there. Only the nunchuck and the "you might get it sometime... maybe" disclaimer. - beerunifies, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yes, I would definitely recommend hitting up Best Buy.
I was lucky enough to grab a Wii and an extra controller + nunchuck (they had at least 15 wiimote + nunchuck combos) this last weekend. - rockforever, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I dont think that Mario Party will be fun over internet play. I like the fact that your in the same room with the people your playing with. Seriously, watching people use that Wiimote to play games is almost as fun as playing the games themselves.
- Philodox, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1.... it was NYE, you think I was playing it by myself?
- mywhitenoise, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Haven't tried Rayman, only because i'm sick of mini-games.
- lbeaty1981, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Have you tried Rayman? The controls on it are pretty solid (except the frickin bat-flying game). I agree, the Wii could definitely use a few more full-blown games. I'm just about to finish Zelda, and there's really not much else out there that I'm interested in right now. Fortunately, that's what virtual console is for.
- UglieJosh, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I dugg you up, even though I don't totally agree with you.
You are DEFINITELY right about the Wiimote not always being accurate. It is also, more often than not, very hard to center it on your screen in a short amount of time. Wario Ware is the worst example of this so far, especially when an aiming minigame loads up and by the time you have your aim centered, your time to complete the game is up.
Regardless of the faults, however, the Wii is the most fun I have ever had with a video game console and some games (like Zelda and Wii sports) make fun and fairly accurate uses of the Wiimote.
I LOVE the Mario Party series and really hope they do a better job with this than they did with Wario Ware. There is no activity in the world more fun than getting drunk with some buddies and playing some Mario Party. - totorototoro, on 10/12/2007, -4/+4damn, now I have to buy more WiiMotes.
- mywhitenoise, on 10/12/2007, -6/+6I have a Wii, and I think I'm one of the very few that hates the idea of the remote. A lot of the times, that ***** is inaccurate. The use of it in Zelda was great, because the game didn't kill you if you ***** up on one mini-game due to it's inaccuracy. Elebits was precise as well, but Wario Ware was off. A lot of these Wii games get me hyped up, until I remember I have to use the remote. Why aren't they offering an option to use a classic controller, like they stated before launch?
The Wii is nowhere near as impressive as the DS, yet it get's twice the praise. - xerus, on 10/12/2007, -4/+4With all new games and ways to play them!
- BlauAngel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I completely agree w/ u.
- Topher06, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1The only problem I have with these party type games and the Wiimote is that they are going to start duplicating the same gameplay over and over again. For instance, looks like Mario Party 8 has a baseball mini game. Guess what, the Wii ships with a baseball mini game. Guess what, Super Monkey Ball has a baseball mini game. While I don't think every game has to be completely unique and innovative, please don't offer dozens of game titles that all feature baseball as a mini game. Or fishing, or whack-a-mole, or boxing, or bowling etc. One game is enough, if you wanted Nintendo characters playing baseball, then they should have included them in Wii Sports or offer Nintendo characters as Mii's.
- Hylian60, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Looks good. I just hope it has online play.
- yatoobin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1You can also tell a bunch of people will be sporting bruises and black eyes from being whacked by someone else's wiimote. I've seen this happen with regular MP.
- zenlunatic, on 10/12/2007, -7/+6good times
