- slicedoranges, on 10/12/2007, -4/+92because the SNES was the best console ever made; it'll never die
- Mewchu11, on 10/12/2007, -3/+81Nope, it was Wii-moved.
- Crass22, on 10/12/2007, -4/+71Y'see, the kids, they play the Wii, which gives them the brain damage. With their hippin' and their hoppin' and their bippin' and their boppin' so they don't know what the SNES is all about! You see, SNES is like a Jello Pudding pop - NO! Actually, it's more like Kodak film - NO! Actually SNES is like the new Coke; it'll be around forever! Heh heh heh..
- dunezone, on 10/12/2007, -5/+58God speed little doodle, God Speed.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+32One of the most comfortable controllers I ever held.
- newtype78, on 10/12/2007, -3/+34Cause many people like myself still play it daily. LONG LIVE THE SNES
- diggmaddy, on 10/12/2007, -6/+28R.I.P Gamecube. So long and thanks for all the fun.
- Crass22, on 10/12/2007, -3/+19Yes, lets hope Wii brings the renaissance Nintendo fans have needed since the late years of N64.
I still play Pikmin, Mario Sunshine, and Killer7 on my Wii now :) - Hydraulix, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16Drop Linux on it and make it come back to life!

Goodnight sweet prince - futaris, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11LOL. R.O.B. ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/R.O.B. ) as the doctor. SNES as the mum ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SNES ). I can't believe the Dad was a Megadrive though ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sega_Mega_Drive ) ...
- blankman, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11Gamecube is faking its own death so that it can murder Wii and reclaim its rightful place

Shigeru Miyamoto.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shigeru_Miyamoto - aywwts4, on 10/12/2007, -5/+15In my opinion the Gamecube has never been more alive.
An entire group of people who have never played the gamecube and finding they now own one with the wii, prices for games are skyrocketing (Formerly 4 and 5 dollar games are now selling for 15-30) People are playing the best of gamecube games at budget prices while they wait for even more wii games to come out. - Tochi, on 10/12/2007, -4/+12Viva La SNES!
I still break mine out occasionally to play some Secret of Mana with my buddies. Good times. - BugMeNot2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Shigeru Miyamoto?
- FuriousGopher, on 10/12/2007, -6/+13I still play my Gamecube, and I don't plan on selling it; I'll definately get a Wii to join the family too :)
- Flummoxer, on 10/12/2007, -4/+11The games only live on because the Gamecube was an organ donor.
- senseigmg, on 10/12/2007, -6/+12Cosby, is that you?
- jerbaker, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8No one posted this video yet? I think it's appropriate here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0rE7yllP9Nc Make sure to watch for the comment at the end.
- Kwipper, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9If the SNES is the best console ever made, then why is the Sega Genesis still alive?
- alternative724, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6N-Gage shouldn't be considered a legit video game system
- daridave, on 10/12/2007, -4/+9It's funny because it's so true.
I was just talking about something like that with my co-worker 5 minutes ago. One of the reasons why I don't mind the Wii not being HD is because I still remember when I got my Gamecube (with WaveRace: Blue Storm) as if it was maybe a year ago. I bought only a dozen games, namely Smash Bros., Metroid Prime 1-2, Wind Waker, WaveRace, Resident Evil 1, 0 & 4, Eternal Darkness and then a few more... but just looking at that list, wow, what a list.
It didn't have variety, but quality-wise? I'll never forget my time with the gamecube. I will forever hate it for being pink, but also forever love it for its amazing games. Just a few games, but despite that, the last 5 years were good "videogaming" years for me.
Some people insult the Wii by calling it a "gamecube 1.5" ... All I can say is, if it ain't broken... you know the rest ! - D3koy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5So they aren't making games for it, IMO a console isn't dead until Eb Games stops selling games for it...It's still a very playable console and I still spend hours running around in the water while playing "Baulders Gate; Dark Alliance"
The 'cube will live on as long as you keep in in here (points to you heart) - 4tygames, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6I still do not understand why game developers still develop Xbox games when they will not be backward compatible with the XBox360. The only way for the new XBox games like Thrillville, Scarface, etc. would play on the XBox360 would be through an update. The Gamecube is totally backward compatible to the Wii. There are many people who own the Wii and not a Gamecube and are looking for the best Gamecube games to buy. I do not understand why game developers choose to develop for the Xbox when the Gamecube base is still growing.
- EbenieRosa, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3That was funny as hell!
- shakin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3As long as I can buy GC games, I will. This is the time when games drop in price a lot so I'll end up getting more GC games now than I did the past two years I owned it.
- rohcky, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3My cube will stay alive so I can play GBA games on the big screen.
- JDoggqx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I think there are a lot of NES, SNES, Masterdrive/Genesis, and Dreamcast owners that would argue EB is not the watermark for a game systems life. Heck the Dreamcast was recently put back into production!
I know I recently powered most of those systems to play them, and you can still find games on ebay, and at garage sales.
Also, did you take that last line from Star Trek V? - Holosoth, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5I lub the GC, I just hate the GBA. After 2650 games, it isn't dead. DIE GBA!!!!
- Dunadan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3very true. I remember the first time I picked one up at a walmart display and after playing zelda for 15 minutes I remember thinking, "Hey, wait a second I never even had to look down at the controller to get adjusted to it." I simply grabbed it and started playing.
- dungbeetle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I have a PC, an XBOX, and a Game Cube, with additional access to a 360 and a PS3. Out of all of those I play Game Cube the most. the Metroids, SSB, Zelda, Soul Caliber 2. All of the are memorable. All I can really remember for the others for are shooters that had interesting story lines and no real hook. They aren't bad but they don't stay close to your heart the same way a Game Cube will.
- macgabriel87, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5i love the ending.
- pureliquidhw, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4@ jeffh
Yeah right. Nothing was more pitiful than the n-gage. Not even virtual boy. - Siefer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Well said. By the way secret of mana rules.
- DreKor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I think there was a huge flame war about the GS review for TP. Most people agree, however, that they were idiots since the game is the same. Just pick your control scheme of choice.
- Hermitwise, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4I'm still going to get Zelda Twilight Princess for the gamecube and wait for the price drop on the Wii before getting one though.
- lukeman, on 10/12/2007, -4/+6So. Many. Panels.
- krakkinem, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3That comic was surprisingly cute and funny. Thanks for introducing me this "VG Cats" thing... I think I shall be a fan now.
- DreKor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2the panels Were the joke...
- oblongmouth, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4I can't believe you care that you got dugg down.
sort your head out ffs - senmu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2No wonder the Gamecube died, the doctor (ROB) took like 8 panels just to spin around...and even then he wasn't able to grab the phone! There must be some panels missing that we don't know about when he tried to get to the operating room as fast as he could...hmmm...
- Ravenlock, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Great comic. Well done indeed. Poor GC barely had a shot, and now that the Wii plays all its games, I fear it'll be relegated to bargain bins forever. Ah well, it was good while it lasted. Its little brother shall endure.
- bprice57, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1very funny.
- Tainek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@Hermitwise
But if you get it for the gamecube you will be forced to play it with the old style controller, dont forget that most reviews said that TP was made from a good game to an awesome game by how well the controls work, you dont want to sell yourself short - Hermitwise, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@Tainek
Actually the gc version seems to have a better rating than the Wii one, most notably Gamespot.com so far. I understand not as many places have reviewed it as the Wii one though. I've seen how it Controls for the Wii, and it just doesn't add to the value of the game enough for me to buy a Wii solely for it when I can get the same game with a "classic" control scheme. I mean the sword combat is not one to one motion capture, it's gesture based, that doesn't thrill me. I still want a Wii but personally I don't need or want one to play Zelda, which would be why I would buy one right now. - Ksilebo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1My GC served me well for 4 or so years.
I do wonder if they intend on throwing something on the Wii that will let you play GBA or DS (somehow) games. - Nikole, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1nice and greatly enjoyed the star trek refrence
