- CrimsonFlash, on 08/12/2008, -0/+23Westwood was better. Without Westwood, C&C is crap. (I'll sill play them, but they have so much lost potential)
- dsmx, on 08/12/2008, -0/+14RA3 will not be as good as RA2 which was the last game to be made by westwood before EA gutted the studio. Shame really but from what I've seen EA couldn't even be bothered to make some new ingame assets as a lot of the stuff from RA2 is being reused.
- dixhuit, on 09/03/2008, -1/+14That's the smallest look inside Red Alert 3 I've ever had in my life. Buried for title abuse.
- cheezwhip, on 08/12/2008, -0/+13I was expecting an inside look at Red Alert 3. What I got was a measly one line reference to it.
- MaskedMuffin12, on 08/12/2008, -0/+8I have a bad feeling EA is going to ***** up the red alert series.
- Vegabondsx, on 08/12/2008, -0/+7The best way to learn about Red Alert 3 is to play the beta... of course if you aren't in it already, it might be too late.
- xtothepowerofx, on 08/12/2008, -0/+7"rubber shoes in motion"
- dixhuit, on 09/03/2008, -0/+5Yeah thanks. I'll have some more salt to go in my wounds too please.
- CrimsonFlash, on 08/12/2008, -0/+5I also wanted to mention, but lost my chance to edit, that when Westwood disbanded, most of the original employees created a new company called "Petroglyph Games"
Keep an eye on them. - inactive, on 08/12/2008, -0/+4Apocalypse reporting!
- musntSurfatWork, on 08/12/2008, -0/+4Fix CnC Zero Hour, you lazy scooter riding Bastards! On a serious note, please patch this fine game to eliminate maphack online cheating, I love this game too much to let it see fall the wayside like this. Besides, I need something to play again if and only if RA3 sucks donkey balls.
- inactive, on 08/12/2008, -1/+5I know the game is all about crazy warfare, but I cant help thinking that the Empire of the Rising Sun doesn't fit in this game, I understand why they would associate Mechs with them (Anime) but from what I've seen all their units resemble more something from an alien race shooting lasers and energy weapons, it's like the Japanese are the Protoss or the Scrin of Red Alert, except they're human.
It's fine to be inventive, but don't push it too far. I still like good old fashioned projectile weapons, missiles and bombs, and especially huge tanks. Hopefully the Allies and the Soviets will keep some of that from RA2.
On a side note, Gemma Atkinson is on the game? I don't really like live action cutscenes, but she's hot.
http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&q=gemma%20at ... - Pete1the1gamer, on 08/12/2008, -0/+4Agreed. With only one BRIEF mention of Red Alert 3 this was certainly no "insiders look" at the game...
- baldgye, on 08/12/2008, -0/+4nah having played the beta RA3 is worse than C&C3, and RA2 is a lot better than RA3
- MiDri, on 08/12/2008, -0/+4I'm in the beta and I'm not all that impressed... Maybe it's because the maps they let us play on are tiny as *****...
- inactive, on 08/12/2008, -0/+4I did but universe at war was boring and stars wars empire at war was just okish. I would love to see them create something old school and not go over board.
- SimmaDownNow, on 08/12/2008, -0/+3So, we are digging sweatshops now. Okay, I'm game. How about using your enormous capital and brain-drain to create more interesting games you *****.
- v00doo, on 08/12/2008, -1/+4-line from the game here-
- chris4404, on 08/12/2008, -0/+3Generals wasn't too bad.
- robszol, on 08/12/2008, -1/+4EA didn't ***** up the series. C&C3 Tiberium Wars and C&C Kane's Wrath were the best titles since RA1. I don't see how RA2 or Tiberium Sun are in anyone's mind, good games. They were crude.
- Nichael, on 08/12/2008, -0/+3At least you've actually tried it. I get annoyed with people saying it'll suck without playing, when it's really quite easy to access the game right now (or at least get all the information you could possibly want about it).
- TheyHate, on 08/12/2008, -1/+3HOLY *****! the video volume level goes up to 11!
- oxymoron69, on 08/12/2008, -0/+2http://www.clubdutch.com/celebrities/383
Bwhahahahahahahaha.... she looks ***** drunk as hell in this pic, 1/2 of her boobs are falling out of her shirt thing. - inactive, on 08/12/2008, -0/+2I just wanted Red Alert 3 to be fitting end to the series not a ridiculous game with attack bears and tesla boats. Looks like something 12 year old would like.. sure, I might be getting ahead of myself but i'm worried RED3 may turn out very lame and medicore like EE3.
- chewbacca77, on 08/12/2008, -0/+2What's wrong with Zero Hour? The only problem I ever have is slow down on one map - Twilight Flame.
- MiDri, on 08/12/2008, -0/+2The Russians are almost comical in their attack methods...
- SubKamran, on 08/12/2008, -0/+2I'm a huge fan of pre-Renegade C&C games, the only ones that have actually been good. RA2: YR is my favorite, I still play it at LAN parties and everyone has a blast. C&C 3 looked great but was really boring, a huge disappointment but at least better than Generals. I should be getting my RA3 beta key soon, so I'll try it out. I'm a hardcore RA fan so I know what I like. From the videos I've seen, gameplay looks decently fun, but I'm not sure I like the art style of the units and buildings... they look too... compact and toyish. Maybe I will be proved wrong.
The one thing I like a lot about the videos I've seen is the maps, they are really rich in color. Also terror drones that can swim is scary as hell. - antdude, on 08/12/2008, -0/+2I wasn't impressed with RA3 multiplayer beta. Engine feels weird. Too cartoonish for my taste. :( This might be the first non-expansion game that I won't get. :(
Also, wasn't EA criticized for crazy work hours? - tian2992, on 08/12/2008, -0/+1–Engeneering!
–Moooooving! - inactive, on 08/12/2008, -0/+1I'm a huge C&C and have been for around 10 years but RA:3 isn't look too impressive at the moment but time will tell guess.
I'm much more hopefully on Blizzard's SC2 - Andreeew, on 08/12/2008, -3/+4Buried for EA.
- Nichael, on 08/12/2008, -0/+1Anyone else notice Kane's mask from Kane's Wrath (It's definitely not the one used for Tiberian Sun) in the background of the video?
- BrutusCirrus, on 08/12/2008, -0/+1I beta tested this game and all I can say is that it's ***** amazing.
- TheG2, on 08/12/2008, -0/+1I've tried it as well (10 rounds), C&C3 any day of the week over RA3.
- baldgye, on 08/12/2008, -0/+1i wish the beta had a skirmish mode ...
- CronX, on 08/13/2008, -1/+1I'm still playing the beta, The overall feel of the game is just dated, The game is brand new and feels old out of the beta box.
- Nichael, on 08/12/2008, -1/+1Have you tried RA3 yet? I'm not necessarily saying it's better than RA2 (though to be honest, RA2 is my second least favorite in the series), but it is a great game. EA actually has done a wonderful job so far with RA3, it's a perfect mix of C&C 3 and RA2, with a tiny bit of Generals.
- kydjester, on 08/12/2008, -1/+0i gotta ven.t ahh ***** type back space dont work. ne way.
why dont they go into the tools that were used in developing the game and perhaps the development thinking through sample code for the development cycle.
i rarely hear the thinking process code of the actual coder in action. Of course i could read it, but why dont these video's talk with actual coders and have them tell us about the game from the "roots" of development. - dalittle, on 08/12/2008, -2/+1Oh will EA's viral campaigning for this piece of crap ever end?
- blah247, on 08/12/2008, -1/+0Price elasticity is something the writer should read about.
- Nichael, on 08/12/2008, -2/+1You have really got to play the game before making that judgment. So I think the beta is fantastic, and a great sequel to RA2.
- pingpongli, on 08/12/2008, -1/+0I can remember playing Archon and Seven Cities of Gold on my Commodore 64, both of which were published by Electronic Arts. That's about 25 years ago (1983-1984).
I'm getting old. - painting, on 08/12/2008, -5/+3Starcraft 1 > all C&C
- donkeyyz, on 08/12/2008, -4/+2Pro Evo > FIFA
- Pittance, on 08/12/2008, -8/+2Front page with zero comments at at most 63 diggs. Weird.
Also, has EA really been around for 25 years, or have any acquired companies that have been?
