      And there are more people playing GoW than Halo2 online, which no game has managed to beat since... ever....

      Hmm. It's true that not every person who bought Halo 2 plays it online, but if a game can beat that record alone, then I don't have a hard time imagining it being the fastest selling. Granted it's only been out for a week anyway.

But I think the gameplay is really too repetitive throughout the game. There doesn't seem to be any surprises with variation of gameplay, it's just duck and cover - SHOOT!

I was a bit disappointed when I was playing it because when it was released on PC, everyone was talking about how spectacular it looked and whatnot. And I play it now and after Gears, it seemed like a total crap(graphics). Oh well, I'm only a year late :( Gameplay is pretty fun though.

I was going to wait for Halo 3 to get the 360, but I bought it early for GoW and I'm so glad I did. Everything about the 360 has exceeded my expectations.

  • YellowStar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Artwork is simply gorgeous and wonderfully detailed. Some complain that the aliens and humans look too similiar with all their armour on. The campaign is better when you play with a buddy - unfortunately you can't have more than one buddy with you online when you play in a campaign. The team games are great fun too. The AI is actually very good - you can get yourself pinned. I miss the overhead map view like in G.R.A.W. so you can find your team mates and enemies.

      Here is a more accurate review of each:

      PGR3: Pretty decent racing game... Not the best out there, but better then most... but really fun non the less.

      Oblivion: Very much worth the disc it was printed on... Great RPG for those who are testing the genre out.. very fun... long lasting and worth the money for the game length.
      Pick this one up.

      Call of Duty 2: Great launch title... amazing graphics.. in fact in my opinion... more fun the n COD3. Definitely a buy.

      Dead Rising: Amazing dynamic environment... where the fun lies in exploring the environment. Another buy.


      Splinter Cell: Double Agent: Not fit for dogs... but maybe for humans. Amazing graphics fun storyline although short and the real beauty shines in the multiplayer...

      So don't ***** sit there and bad mouth games you haven't played... I've played all of these and wasn't disappointed in one of them.

      I was commenting on the blanket statement that the only non-crap game was GoW. And I know several dogs that like Splinter Cell. Not just the little yippy ones, either.

    No one gives a damn about the Dreamcast 360. Nor does anyone care about yet another 'shiny space marine game' with a poorly implemented Doom 3 engine and crappy 8 player max online(that you are forced to pay 50 dollars a year just for the privledge of playing).

    The console world is focused on the two next gen competitors now - the Wii and the PS3.

If you are a fan of FPS/TPS and you miss the opportunity to play GoW because of some weird bias than you are truly missing out. I don't plan on getting the PS3 but I have to say Resistance: Fall of Man looks great and I'd like to play it.

      I care. Frankly I love the game GoW.
      And i'm always a year behind, I don't get into the hype when a new system comes out. Just picked up my 360 last weekend and GoW with it. I'm on act 4 right now and so far I like what I see. I can see how this game could possibly get game of the year and fastest selling.

I think 50$ per year is fully justified for all I get, a unified service, not a conglomeration of various servers from different companies and at least all 360 games are live aware. Look at the competition, PS3 has resistance and that is to compete with gears, wii has Zelda - which is coming to GC aswell. Call it a dreamcast all you want, the 360 is in the next gen lead and at this moment nobody is really competing.

    Gears my loose points for having repetitive game play. But as a gaming experience, it is solid entertainment.

    Time to believe the hype and buy. It shows why you spent all that money on a 360. Halo makers now have their work cut out for them.

      it really depends on what kind of game you like... ive grown off FPS, because they have become to formulaic, but i love the arcadi-ness of Halo, for example and the story of halflife

    It is the only game O.X.M. gave a 10 out of 10.
    It is amazing.
    They need to have a demo at the kiosks.

I completed this game in under of 10 hours of gameplay on "normal" without truly getting a feel for the controls (FPS games were meant for keyboard/mouse, not a gamepad). It really is a shame that this game was so short. Aside from the less than intriguing storyline, the gameplay was actually quite good and the graphics were phenomenal.

If I were to make my own guess, this commercial has been huge for the Gears of War sales. Don't believe me? The song used in the video has climbed to the top 10 purchased songs on itunes within the last two days and it's 6 years old!

For subscribers they offer the video in high-def (400+ megs) and the action/graphics look pretty amazing for the 360. Being surprised about this would be just as bad as being surprised to hear that Grand Theft Auto : SA was the best selling PS2 game of all time. I mean, if someone tells you what the best game in the world is, without a doubt you would rush out of the house and try it out on release day.

    I wish people would buy, or just rent, more games though. Even if they aren't all over entertainment weekly and spike tv. Because if that happened to earthbound, well you would be assured that the (absolutely great) sequel would be out by now.
