Army funds America's Army video game
Video game teaches citizens how to become medics
...
And who said government funded health care doesn't work? - ursername180, on 01/18/2008, -2/+156Yeah, well, atleast he didn't learn from Team Fortress Classic. Otherwise he would have pulled out a medpack and touched the victim with it.
"IS IT WORKING?!" - Yareking, on 01/18/2008, -14/+80omg is this the only guys who didnt cheated at the exam?
- designet, on 01/18/2008, -1/+65dude? youre doing WHAT to rambo?
- maryjane420, on 01/18/2008, -0/+61pffft, if he was a real gamer he would have just waited for the respawn.
- spyd3rweb, on 01/18/2008, -1/+61Lets see how Jack Thompson tries to spin this.
- MackPrime, on 01/18/2008, -0/+60least he wasnt into BF2. Defibrilator.
- inactive, on 01/18/2008, -0/+38Super Mario experience helped me out while i was shrooming.
- RockMuncher, on 01/18/2008, -8/+45As an actual medic, I urge everyone to please, please not assume that playing a video game can help save lives. I've encountered far too many 'helpful' bystanders that think because they took a lifesaving class a decade ago that they can properly diagnose and help people who are severely injured. I can only imagine what someone who's played a video game would be like.
That being said, this guy did a good thing with the limited knowledge he had. Moving the two victims was highly inadvisable, *especially* since the car flipped several times (head and neck injuries do not always cause pain for the victim), but having no prior experience, he did what he thought was best. - adh3isive, on 01/18/2008, -1/+36Jack Thompson, is that you?
- mrjit, on 01/18/2008, -0/+35Touche.

- gpanther92, on 01/18/2008, -2/+30Wow, I used to play America's Army and i could never pass the medic test. Hey I might try to actually pass it now.
- Murrabbit, on 01/18/2008, -4/+32So what did he do? Head up to the guy and hold the enter key?
- brownspank, on 01/18/2008, -0/+28"The men in the SUV were recreating moves from Burnout Paradise..."
- murphy11211, on 01/18/2008, -3/+30Sounds like common ***** sense to me.
- atlex2, on 01/18/2008, -7/+33Clearly, your not very good at it.
- mrjit, on 01/18/2008, -4/+29You dicks, English is probably his 3rd language, lets hear your fluency in alternative languages.
- estvir, on 01/18/2008, -4/+27I guess you're part of the group who dropped out of primary school and can barely manage to put together a coherent sentence.
- inactive, on 01/18/2008, -0/+23i'm afraid you've already forgotten he was a TRAINED and SKILLED ONLINE MEDIC.
- santasing, on 01/18/2008, -4/+26I like the game very much. This is a thinking man's shooter. I am glad to see it get good publicity and not those usual recruitment tool comments etc.
- stklaw, on 01/18/2008, -0/+21Good thing he wasn't into Trauma Center.
- mrjit, on 01/18/2008, -4/+24Well, if that's the case then fly me out to Iraq because I'm ***** Rambo when it comes to Special Forces in that game.
- alphgeek, on 01/18/2008, -4/+24"In a later update, it was revealed that it was in fact Galvanek's devotion to the tech of Scientology that in fact allowed him to save the unfortunate accident victim's life. Galvanek was quoted as saying "I'm a scientologist, only I was equipped to save this guy. Thank Xenu it wasn't a psychiatrist driving past or the guy's engrams would have been severely enturbulated." In other news..."

Clearasil has a wide range of products both for rapid spot treatment and for everyday prevention.
- bodmas, on 01/18/2008, -0/+19And if english actually is his native tongue, he's probably in tears from your remarks. Good job. ;)
- atlex2, on 01/18/2008, -4/+23Maybe learning it had a purpose, huh?
Oh and you meant "guy." - Pixelante, on 01/18/2008, -1/+20***** yeah!
- slimjim1013, on 01/18/2008, -2/+21"Are you a doctor or something?
"No, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn!!" - XIUgraag, on 01/18/2008, -2/+20So if you saw a vehicle smoking you would leave the people inside the vehicle?
- qwertydvorak, on 01/18/2008, -0/+17its a good thing he didn't just T-Bag the victims.
- JackondaRocks, on 01/18/2008, -0/+16YOU'RE!
- 1town, on 01/18/2008, -5/+20Oh, and you meant "cheat"
- capiCrimm, on 01/18/2008, -1/+16I speak monkey, but the real question is can you understand monkey?
- SSUK, on 01/18/2008, -0/+14Basic first aid, too.
- fascistpig, on 01/18/2008, -0/+14"Noticing two people in the car, he quickly freed them from the smoking wreckage and pulled them to safety."
The car was on fire. - megaloid, on 01/18/2008, -0/+13I'm sorry, most of us are American. Can you tell us where Canada is?
- thedragon4453, on 01/18/2008, -1/+14***** you Jack Thompson.
Anyway, I have to go practice saving lives. - inactive, on 01/18/2008, -0/+12How so? Now, I can just play a video game instead of having to join the army.
- inactive, on 01/18/2008, -4/+16AMERICA
- atralyx, on 01/18/2008, -2/+14but it is a recruitment tool.........
- bodmas, on 01/18/2008, -0/+12"I heard there's not even respawn in RL. What if I get lag out there? I'm dead!"
- secrity, on 01/18/2008, -0/+12Few people are able to effectively apply basic first aid when it is needed..
- CommissarVlad, on 01/18/2008, -0/+12Get first aid! Here!
- JackondaRocks, on 01/18/2008, -1/+12Unfortunately, I still don't get laid with my Leisure Suit Larry experience.
- bodmas, on 01/18/2008, -0/+11I can see him discussing this with a psychiatrist while violently sobbing: "they said english was probably my third language, and then they called me canadian."
- chancesarent, on 01/18/2008, -0/+11You're a recruitment tool!
- dewhite04, on 01/18/2008, -1/+11Suing would be pretty fruitless too, considering good Samaritan laws in place to protect would-be rescuers even if they make mistakes.
It's always an on-the-scene call whether to move victims to a safer location, or wait for better equipment... Who knows what the right call was? Probably only the level 43 paladin, I mean medic... -
