- bobthegreat1224, on 01/29/2008, -0/+51I've been waiting to play that futuristic gunfight scene for how many years now?
- davidrools, on 01/29/2008, -0/+41I want to be the fairy flying around the rainforest. i mean...uh...delete comment!!
- BingoPower, on 01/29/2008, -0/+36At least with their games you'll be able to believe the "Recommended Specification" on the box.
- skinrock, on 01/29/2008, -1/+36There's gonna be overheating video cards everywhere, lol.
- Narcism, on 01/29/2008, -7/+34Yes! What PC gaming needs are more PC games with ultra-high requirements and great graphics that isolate those too poor to buy top-of-the-line systems! I don't know about you guys, but I love buying games that half my friends can't play!
I've never owned a console in my life but they're starting to look like a good idea. - theinept, on 01/29/2008, -1/+24I love it when you check in, Master Yoda!
- ferrariman60, on 01/29/2008, -0/+23Yeah, I can see it now. "Recommended System: More than you have."
- sigmaseven, on 01/29/2008, -0/+20"This should finally decice [sic] the age-old argument whether 3DMark is a game or not."
It is. The end guy is hard. - DeFex, on 01/29/2008, -12/+31so both people who use vista can benchmark their video card!
- lpmiller, on 01/29/2008, -4/+23stunning graphics it may have, but it's the gameplay that matters. More eye candy I don't need, nor do I need yet another GPU killer.
- ThetaDot, on 01/29/2008, -0/+17This could be really great or very tragic. Let's hope for the best!
- MacParrot, on 01/29/2008, -1/+17Good News everyone!
Oh my yes! - legoalert33, on 01/29/2008, -0/+16I'll be playing at 1.2 FPS
Just like the benchmarking - cdawzrd, on 01/29/2008, -0/+14That scene with the blimp and the sea monster could turn in to a great fantasy game...
- hockey, on 01/29/2008, -1/+14HEY LISTEN!!!!!
- natastna2, on 01/29/2008, -0/+13I want to be the courageous Captain of a pirate blimp fighting a glistening rainbow dragon!
- rb89, on 01/29/2008, -1/+10"Playable 3DMark" is more like "barely playable 3DMark".
- Jarnis, on 01/29/2008, -3/+12First DX10-only game incoming? I mean next 3Dmark is supposed to be DX10 only...
- TheProfessional, on 01/29/2008, -0/+8wow, a playable 3DMark. thats right, digg. that is exactly what they are making.
- kenplaysviola, on 01/29/2008, -0/+8How so? Please explain
- pad22, on 01/29/2008, -0/+7"Second Reality" by Future Crew ... anyone remember? Look it up.
- steven401, on 01/29/2008, -1/+8uuiU.
- d3dm, on 01/29/2008, -1/+8I hear it pretty easy to defeat him and get a really high score if you spend more money on hardware.
- herrshuster, on 01/29/2008, -0/+7uuiU
- xpose, on 01/29/2008, -2/+8Another developer to push graphics cards to their limits. This is great news.
- judgeFire, on 01/29/2008, -0/+6Futuremark and Remedy (Alan Wake maker) share a lot of history, both have their roots in the Finnish demo scene of the 80s/90s. Pushing the graphics envelope seems built-in.
- Ryan0617, on 01/29/2008, -0/+6We'll see in time how they fare. Valve made half life in theie first game and made a killer game. I think people will expect too much from futuremark though with how their 3d benchmarks look.
- ivanmarsh, on 01/29/2008, -1/+7Right there with ya'. Not really interested in upgrading the Nvidia SLI video sub-system in my machine I just upgraded to a year ago so I can play the next six video games that will come out before I have to upgrade again. Consoles are starting to look very affordable.
- SSUK, on 01/29/2008, -2/+8Ha ha ha, that never gets old. Oh wait, yes it ***** did. Get the ***** off the internet.
- Trixrox, on 01/29/2008, -1/+7They are so used to pushing the PC to something impossible to run when it comes out.
I just hope they don't create games like Crysis, a computer killer. We need efficient coding, like HL2, the game looks great and plays well. - Pilot85, on 01/30/2008, -0/+5You never catch it.
- KloroFormd, on 01/30/2008, -0/+5Recommended System*:

4GHz Octo-core CPU
16GB DDR4-36000
nVidia GeForce Elevendy-eight-hundred series card
* Product names theoretical. - juggle, on 01/29/2008, -0/+4Here's a good video of 3dMark in action:
http://youtube.com/watch?v=vGrC59YzePY - keepinithamsta, on 01/29/2008, -1/+5Alan Wake is already slated for DX10 only release.
- Slizzo, on 01/29/2008, -0/+3Huh?
- Christbait, on 01/29/2008, -0/+3Nice, a Digg and a PCP user at the time.
- Akaji, on 01/29/2008, -1/+4Except it isn't. If it weren't for Microsoft, alternate OS's may have garnered some attention; instead, MS made it all but impossible for anyone to challenge them by locking everyone into their own standards.
- kidcodea, on 01/29/2008, -0/+2AssemblyFTW
- Dracusis, on 01/29/2008, -0/+2Sigh, YouGamers.com are morons, and the Dig community are like sheep. Remedy, an offspring of 3D mark, made Max Payne back in July 2002. Only 6 years late with this *cough* news...
- heresy_fnord, on 01/29/2008, -1/+3Well go ahead, PC games are what push the envelope so to speak. Console games just ride the graphics wave.
Also, you don't need SLI to enjoy today's games. You can buy a $180 video card and play games at higher resolution than most console games are playing at today. - Philbert, on 01/29/2008, -0/+2I heard this and thought "ooh I wonder if they're hiring" Then I discovered they're in Finland.
- natastna2, on 01/29/2008, -0/+2Yeah but a machine about a year old has no way of playing any modern game at 1900x1700 at any graphics setting but low.
- hockey, on 01/29/2008, -1/+3Ya know there is this thing called "high" settings or even, dare I say it, medium. Just because you can't play every game at ultra very high settings at 1900x1700 doesn't mean you need to upgrade. . .
- Sarkoon, on 01/29/2008, -0/+2Fantastic news, I always wanted to play games at 5 FPS.
- DFENS, on 01/29/2008, -1/+3Didn't Alpha Prime: The Game already come out? Wasn't it absolutely terrible?
- EvilFerret, on 01/31/2008, -0/+1I wouldn't say the gameplay has to be that great. The PC industry needs developers like this and Crytek who push the PC gaming industry forward. There are STILL people out there who say "huh? I have to buy a DVD player to install this game?? ***** that!". I'm constantly blown away by the number of people Crysis convinced to finally upgrade their rigs.
- Pilot85, on 01/30/2008, -0/+1funny, those videos didn't run like that on my computer. :|
- iamaelephant, on 01/30/2008, -0/+1No details on genre and no details on release date or even release year. This isn't news, and it shouldn't be on the front page. Buried,
- endersadvocate, on 01/30/2008, -0/+1i really liked that one!
