- antdude, on 10/12/2007, -0/+18I hope it's not bad as this Japanese one: http://videosift.com/story.php?id=938 ... :)
- maxmojo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+20Umm, so now that it has gained publicity on digg, who wants to make bets on how long it will be before they get a friendly cease and desist letter.
- Lewisham, on 10/12/2007, -2/+17Because you have to give nothing but pure respect to a group of people who love something so much, that they have worked for two years on a tribute to it, with their own money and for no financial gain.
The quality of the film is irrelevant compared to this fact.
It's on the front page because, I guess, other people think they deserve props as well. - brandonhines, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15They couldn't charge for it. If they did Nintendo would sue them for sure.
- rimco, on 10/12/2007, -8/+22Nooooooooo! I'm sorry, but Legend of Zelda just isn't something you do live-action! I appreciate their effort, but NO!
- buddylee415, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13Not a terrible trailer, but if I hear Requiem For A Dream in a movie trailer one more time, I'm going to scream.
- TimmyGUNZ, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12If people are pissed it's on the front page, STOP DIGGING IT. Do you not understand the process on how stories make it to the homepage? Obviously enough people care about this to digg it, including me.
Some of you people are such Digg Nazi's it's really pathetic. - o0joshua0o, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11IMHO, live-action is not the best approach for this, but I do give them an 'A' for effort.
Now imagine if Nintendo teamed up with Pixar to create movies based on Nintendo characters. THEN we'd have something to really get excited about. - xb00t, on 10/12/2007, -10/+20Hellooooooo, IMDb Bottom 100.
- DisembarkedOne, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11http://youtube.com/watch?v=jB89-9X6YS0
- Dragular, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8... coming soon.... one man.... one mission.... one really big sword.
Vin Diesel is.... George "Link" Patowski. After returning home from years in the service he finds that his high school sweetheart, Zelda Smith (Hillary Duff) has been kidnapped by local thug Gan N. Dorfen, as played by Nick Nolte. Using AK-47's, semtex plastic explosives, and a big freaking sword, "Link" must infiltrate the Castle, a night club owned by Gan N. Dorfen and Rescue Zelda!
Rated R For Retarded. - gothicx00, on 10/12/2007, -4/+12This could prove fairly interesting. If nothing else it might land those involved some jobs in the industry (film making), that is assuming that everyone involved is amature. Might be worth dl'ing, but i'm not quite sure i'd pay for it.
- Ryetronics, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7It's quite easy to make a trailer look good, but without all the licensed music and quick cuts, this movie will probably end up being the pinnacle of Cheesy. I can't wait to hear what kind of accent Zelda has..
However, it's a valiant effort if these guys are amateurs. - inkninja, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8The production quality itself seems great for a fan film with hardly any budget but the casting choices are baffling (especially Link and Zelda).
- Dave1234, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7http://www.legendofzeldaseries.com/main.php?page=../../../../../../../etc/passwd
Great security they've got on that site... /sarcasm - xLiKx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7chrono trigger resurrection was a remake of the game. this is just a fan film which is similar to all those star wars fan films online.
- Lewisham, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Nintendo has historically not been one to throw lawyers around to people who are tributing their work, and as long as the movie doesn't actually make any financial gain, I don't think anyone will have a proble. Only companies that seemingly *want* to look like jerks do that (see Marvel and City of Heroes players) :)
- TheCount, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6There was nothing wrong with the Final Fantasy movie... except that it was called "Final Fantasy", when it was completely unrecognizeable from any other final fantasy world we have come to know.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6My dad's old 8mm movie of our trip to Colorado is better than the Doom movie.
- Elranzer, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Since Nintendo opened up an animated film studio sometime last year, this will likely be shut down (similar to Chrono Trigger Ressurection, etc).

- iowaboyjcb, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Everyone is a fan of Zelda, but this movie would probably fare better as an animated full motion picture (e.g. Final Fantasy) as oppose to the low budget film it appears to be.
- thetyrant, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Im gonna have to say a few things here, cuase everyone always flames video games to movies.
right off the bat, we are the hardest crowd to please, cuase gamers are always quick to judgement.
Keep in mind, the studio doing this movie doesnt have a hollywood type budget to make the movie, and the effort by the trailer looks like this movie might be actually worth a watch.. i didnt say it would be good.. just worth the watch.
Come on,.. remember the old 80's fantasy movies, ator the fighting eagle, barbarian queen.. etc etc.. they all were b-rate movies.. but they were fun to watch cuase they were the genre we liked.. cuase they represented the DnD campaings we were playing..
So embrace your nerdness, and except that producers are making movies that we been waiting for... you never know.. maybe if the movie goes over well, there will be a bigger budget for them to work with next time. - DisembarkedOne, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6on a more serious note
this looks alot better then any uwe boll film i have seen :) - fullgl, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Wowzers... I'm damn near speechless.
Is anyone else reminded of the Peasant's Quest movie from homestarrunner.com? - krecker, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Can someone rehost the files? The site is dead.
- tuxidomasx, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Nintendo should be the ONLY people to do anything with the Zelda series.
this is why: http://www.gametab.com/news/519219/
nobody does it like Nintendo. i mean, its all good to pay a nice tribute to the series. but lets not pervert it with crappy live-action tributes. live action + video games just doesn't mix.
i dont even think Nintendo would go live action anymore. if anything, do a CG movie. but not live action. look what happened when they made the super mario bros movie-- king koopa wore hair gel...
...
hair gel....
nuff said. - lnknpk04, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4haha...funny, but i give them props for doing it. I love zelda but unlike most people i dont care if they make a fan movie. More power to 'em!
- Noelix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4They took down the links to the videos, if anyone finds the videos on Google Video or YouTube please post...
- alphageek101, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I agree. Legend was a great fantasy movie. I thought it was highly under-rated -- not many people have even heard about it. The music was great, atmosphere was great, makeup was great, Tim Curry as Satan was amazing, and Tom Cruise's especially bad acting makes it all worth while.
- drw2583, on 10/12/2007, -5/+8I expect Larry the Cable Guy: Health Inspector will be a better film than this...but just barely.
- Nick42, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4HAHAHAHA, oh man, that just about made my day. Hilarious.
- TimmyGUNZ, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Even if Nintendo hired George Lucas to make a live-action Zelda movie, I don't see how anyone make it not cheesy. Everyone has these pre-conceived pictures of the Zelda characters that they developed with the cartoon-esque video game characters that no transformation into real-life characters will satisfy enough people.
Maybe if the first Zelda we were ever exposed to was Twilight Princess, then it could be possible, but not with the characters in the Zelda universe as we know them today. - tehJR, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5High res:

- vhold, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I think I shall paypal donate my entire life's savings, it's the only reasonable thing to do.
- leerose204, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Digg Nazi's haha that' s awesome. Honestly what does it matter if it's on the front page? Who ***** cares? Don't just read front page stories anyway! Starting looking stories other than what makes it to the first few pages...get digging
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3It's definitely not as terrible looking as the comments imply. I'd watch it once.
- thedak, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Wow. The settings are good, the effects are good.. the casting is terrible, what the heck is wrong with link, just wow. It might be good, I think I'd consider giving it a shot.
- TimmyGUNZ, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Personally, unless they include this guy in the movie: http://www.pixyland.org/peterpan/ , I have no desire to see it.
- Philodox, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Hopefully the movie will be as good as the super mario movie.
- BasouKazuma, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I'll definitely be watching this when it comes out, not to say that I'm expecting much. I hope they pull off a decent movie even if they are on a super low budget. They do seem to be pretty skilled all things considered.
- meagan, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4I like the idea, and the preview doesn't look so terrible, but I'm concerned for what might happen if Nintendo sends them a cease and desist letter... Going through all the work of filming and whatnot when the characters and rights belong to another company is generally not a great idea.
- clumsyninja, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Looks like they did as good of job as they could do. Gannons look and laugh are spot on. Yeah, it looks funny, but alot of those scenes actually seem to capture the spirit of the games. I believe this is why this made it to the front page.
- Shorties, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2NOAs already know about it... http://forums.nintendo.com/nintendo/board/message?board.id=zelda&message.id=1688323&jump=true
- xVern, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Looks like the traliers are down, anyone got a mirror?
- RWVolkl158, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Is it just me, or should the actors for Link and Zelda switch parts... The brunette girl looks more like Link then he does.
- thedak, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1dot... dot dot... wow... I'll never get those 5 minutes of my life back, those game endings were terrible.
- hater2win, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Agreed. Link looks like an idiot. Despite that though, I agree, the production quality seems great.
